Something
"Arthur!"
Livy jumped awake from the nightmare and was out of breath. Sweat dripped from her forehead down her neck. She looked around and found an unfamiliar room, then remembered that this was a room in a hospital.
"You awake?" Sarah entered through the door that had just been opened and came up to her. "Look, you're sweating like this. Did you have a nightmare?"
Sarah wiped the sweat on Livy's forehead with a towel.
On the other hand, Livy thought about her dream, where Arthur is lying lifeless on the street. No one helped the poor man, even she who was at the scene could only scream without a sound. But suddenly his body moved, he crawled like a paralyzed man, and his eyeballs weren't where they were. He approached her, fondled his body and said in an unclear voice.
Really! What kind of dream is that?
Then she remembered that she had chased Arthur away and maybe for a while he wouldn't be coming any time soon. Now she couldn't stay here, she might have to leave. When she pitched her idea to Sarah, her best friend was shocked. No matter how hard Sarah coaxed her, she didn't care.
In the end the doctor still wouldn't let her go, but the doctor could refer her to another hospital. Since there was no other choice, Livy agreed, after all this was for the good of the baby in her womb. Even though she was going to divorce Arthur, their baby was innocent.
"Are you sure you don't need to tell Arthur about this?" Sarah helped her change clothes.
"Mn."
"Then where will you live?"
Livy was silent.
Due to her fight with Arthur yesterday, she had no way of returning to their residence. Her aunt had also lived far away from this town, she had nowhere to go.
Sarah seemed to understand her predicament. "You can stay in the dorm for a while if you want, but looking at you now, you seem to want to go to a place where Arthur can't find you, right?"
"..."
"Livy, Arthur has the power, he can find you even if you are hiding at the end of hell. Don't run anymore."
"I'm not running."
Sarah finally pulled Livy's body so she could meet her eyes. She made a serious look and Livy couldn't avoid it. "Listen, I'm not saying this because I'm defending him, but you are pregnant and in the future you need a lot of money. You are jobless, Livy. I might be able to help you for a month or two, then what next?"
Everything Sarah said was true.
"Anyway, Arthur won't just let you go with his child. You have to settle accounts with him first."
"Then what should I do, huh? Do you expect me to live with someone who doesn't love me anymore?!" Livy raised her voice.
Sarah was shocked to hear her voice. "Livy, I mean did he really cheat on you? Do you have any solid evidence and—"
"That's enough, Sarah. Enough! Please ... I don't want to bring this up again."
Even if the affair didn't exist, why would Arthur hide his meeting with Gwen from her and act lovey-dovey out there?

Matthew didn't blink even as the glass slammed in front of him with a bang. Although the sound of the shattering was loud, he enjoyed hearing it as if it were the soft melody of jazz music licking in his ears. His gaze shifted to the woman who stood angrily rebuking him. He replied with a grin.
"Why don't you just kill her!"
"Come on, Gwen, the glass you broke is expensive you know. It's a tea set I bought abroad. Are you going to replace it when you're satisfied?" he sighed.
Gwen glared fiercely. "Did you even hear what I said? You have to kill her! Kill that woman! And look what happens now! This is all your doing!"
"Whoa, whoa, calm down, okay?" Matthew clicked his tongue, looking at her condescendingly, before saying, "You know I never want to get my hands dirty in blood. It's not my fault my sister-in-law got pregnant. Even ... now my brother won't let her go again, huh? Tsk! Too bad."
Gwen clenched her fists angrily. She raised her hand to punch Matthew, but Matthew immediately caught her wrist.
"A model's hand is precious," Matthew ran his fingers through it, "Do you want to spoil it so needlessly? What's the point in hitting me, huh?"
Gwen shrieked as Matthew suddenly tightened his grip and she felt her bones being crushed all at once.
"Uh. Get off me! You're hurting me. It hurts! Please, it hurts!" Her tears flowed down through the pain.
Loud laughter echoed in the soundproof room. Matthew released her hand and walked over to the table to pour the wine in the cup. He shook the glass cup and drank the red liquid in it deliciously.
Gwen held her reddened hand. "You're crazy! You're sick!"
Matthew pretended not to hear the screams, humming happily.
Gwen glared angrily. "From the beginning my misfortune was caused by you! You must pay for everything that has cost me!"
"Pay for everything?"
Matthew took offense, the smile fading from his lips. He turned and walked toward Gwen with slow steps and Gwen backed away in fright. This other side of Matthew she had never faced, her brain telling her, she must not provoke him again.
"Did I not give you a choice in the past? Did I force you to leave my disabled brother?"
Gwen looked away trembling as Matthew brought his face closer to hers.
"You chose to leave, Gwen. You who can't live with a disabled man. You're the villain here."
"I don't—"
"Think about it again, who is more detrimental to you this time." Matthew stroked her hair slowly, his smile smirking. "Who? You guessed it. Me ... or Livy Hayes?"

Since Livy didn't stay long at the hospital, she didn't have much to carry. Sarah helped her carry a medium bag, and her other hand took Livy's out of the hospital.
The doctor had warned her that Livy's body was still very weak; one because of the effects of the chloroform that anesthetized her and then because she is pregnant. According to her own rough estimate, extra attention was needed to take care of Livy's body because she was also mentally shaken. Sarah felt sorry for her because she had to go through a lot of trouble when she was young.
And getting pregnant at a young age, for God's sake, is a period of pregnancy that is still vulnerable.
"Since it's a long holiday now, I'll probably go back to my house and you can be treated at the nearest hospital from there." Sarah took her to the nearest bus stop.
Livy suddenly held her hand, which made her stop what she was doing.
"I ... can I stay at your house? I don't want to go to the hospital anymore," Livy said.
"But—"
"Please," Livy cut her off, "I don't really like the smell of hospitals and I feel stuffy in there."
"Livy, you need the right treatment and the hospital is the right place."
Before Livy could answer, someone approached them which made Livy's words stop and she almost choked. That's Arthur.
"Livy, come home with me." Arthur held out his hand.
Livy looked away. She had intended to leave secretly and she was found as soon as she came out of the hospital. What a great informant behind Arthur's control.
Sarah saw that Livy was uncomfortable and pulled her behind her protectively. "I'm sorry, but she's not going with you."
Arthur's gaze was cold. "Did I give her a choice?"
Sarah was a little frightened by the sharp tone, but she mustered up the courage to say, "It's not that I want to meddle in other people's households. But, Mr. Finnegan, do you expect that the person you offended will go out with you by force?"
"You don't want to go? You really don't want to hear my explanation?"
This question is clearly directed to whom.
Livy clenched her cold sweaty fists. Her body was very weak right now and standing for too long made her head dizzy, she also felt nauseous. She just wanted to go far.
"Sarah ..." she grabbed Sarah's shirt.
"Mr. Finnegan, I'm sorry but we have to go. Come on."
Sarah took Livy's hand and pulled her away, but Arthur stopped them again.
"Livy, come with me," Arthur looked at her imploringly.
Livy pressed her lips together, not even wanting to look at Arthur.
Arthur gritted his teeth. "Fine. You don't want to hear it and I'll explain it here. Gwen and I are not in any relationship."
"..."
"Whatever you've heard from other people, or anyone who has provided false information about me, don't believe them."
Livy still wouldn't look at him. "Sarah, let's go."
"Livy ..."
"Don't touch me!" shouted Livy angrily, she looked at Arthur with a face full of tears. "I don't want to hear your explanation! Get out of my sight!"
Arthur insisted. "No, not until you believe I have nothing to do with Gwen other than friendship."
"If you don't have a relationship with her, why are you keeping this a secret from me?!"
"I meant to tell you—"
"When?" Livy cut him off. "When are you going to tell me? When you two are officially back together? When you finally leave me?"
"Livy ..."
"Enough!" she interrupted again. Her lips were trembling. "Enough! Enough! Enough! I don't want to hear it!"
Livy was panting with anger. Her gaze was fixed on Arthur, but on the other hand it was filled with a very deep wound.
"You hurt me, Arthur. You hurt me." Livy hit herself hard in the chest. "You're playing behind my back. She even said that you guys still love each other. Then what's the point of me being here, huh? What's the use of me?"
"..." Arthur tried to get closer, but Livy backed away again.
It is said that women who are pregnant have a tender and sensitive feeling, they are very easily sad and cry. Arthur felt he had made his little wife cry many times.
"Okay. I admit my mistake. I know I was wrong for hiding this from you, but I—"
"What? ... You won't say if I don't know about it, right?"
"..."
"What would happen if I didn't go to Gwen and hear all she said about you, huh? Maybe you'll hide it for the rest of your life!"
Gwen!
Arthur began to lose his composure. "You keep interrupting me. I told you I have nothing to do with Gwen."
Livy gaped in surprise. "Then was what she said a lie? Was your lovely hug with her a lie?"
"Lovely hug?"
"..."
"When did you see me hugging with Gwen? Someone told you? Look at me, Livy. Look and tell me who told you." Arthur held Livy's shoulders. "Who told you about that?"
"Let me go! Uh! Let me go, Arthur!"
"Mr. Finnegan, get off or I will scream for help with this violence!" threatened Sarah.
Arthur didn't hold her too hard and with her power she could let go, but right now she was in a weakened state. Swallowing his anger, Arthur let go of her shoulder.
As for who told her, Arthur seemed to have guessed who did it. It turned out that this time he really missed again.
"I think I know who told you." Arthur's gaze darkened.
"It doesn't matter who tells me, but I thank them."
"Livy, you can ask me if you want to know the truth. Why did you choose to go to Gwen?" Arthur's tone softened, well, he didn't raise his voice at all at his little wife in the first place. "You can ask me. I'll tell you everything."
How is it different from going to him or Gwen? Facts have proven they are playing behind her!
Livy felt she was being ridiculous here.
"I'm tired. Could you please go? I think my business with you is done."
"We're not done yet."
Sarah held his chest as he wanted to go forward again, he faintly saw Sarah shaking her head at him. Ask him to step back.
This debate will not end until they both calm down. Arthur couldn't force Livy to listen to him this way. He sighed.
"I'll take you back," he said resignedly.
Before Arthur could touch her, Livy dodged. "Just leave me alone. Please."
Something inside Arthur's chest throbbed. He watched Livy leave with Sarah without even wanting to look at him and slowly walked away from him towards the bus stop.
Arthur didn't push her anymore, he intended to keep an eye on his little wife secretly after they got on the bus later and make sure they arrived at their destination safely. As soon as he turned around, he heard someone running towards him, precisely towards a bus stop with narrow lanes for two adults. At that time all he thought was that he was afraid that person accidentally bumped into Livy, or accidentally hurt her on the narrow sidewalk. So he ran.
"Watch out!"
He just in time pulled Livy's body, but at the same time he felt a cold and sharp thing sink into his side.
... to be continued ...
