How the hand of God works
"Is that family still in my house? I'll be back there today." Arthur didn't mince words when he contacted Evander on the way home with Livy.
Perhaps because Evander was still busy at work, he was a bit absent-minded and took quite a while to reply, "You returned to your old house?"
"Yes."
"Oh. The family is gone. I only rented it then so your father wouldn't come again. It wasn't needed anymore."
Arthur's eyes focus on the front, one hand holding the phone and the other holding Livy.
"Call Jim and the maids back to work," he said.
"Anything else?"
"No. I will explain the situation later. Can you come tonight?" Arthur said after feeling that Evander must have felt something strange because he moved so suddenly.
"Of course."
Arthur hung up. It was two days since Livy gave birth, but the news of the baby's birth may not have reached Evander's ears yet. Because the baby was born prematurely and was very weak, doctors advised him to be treated under hospital supervision for the next week. Meanwhile, Livy was allowed to go home and had to have total bedrest. Initially she of course rejected the idea and intended to continue with the baby, but Arthur managed to convince her that the baby was safer in the hospital for treatment at this time.
Arthur saw Livy's eyes open and stared blankly at her own fingers. He picked up her hair that was covering part of her cheek and tucked it behind her ear.
"Hungry?"
"A little." Livy closed her eyes when his fingers brushed her cheek and the touch made her comfortable.
"Is there something you want to eat? The chef will come to the old house since we are staying there." Arthur tilted his face to kiss her cheek.
"I don't know. I actually have no appetite," She replied.
"Then something light might try. You should at least fill your stomach."
After saying that, he sent his butler a message. Thinking that she might be in pain after giving birth, he also asked to be provided with a new bed in their room.
An hour later they arrived home. Arthur got down first to help Livy down and held her shoulder to help her walk. Her body was really weak, she couldn't even stand up at all because of the pain in her surgery wound.
In the end, he carried her in front. She didn't protest because she was tired.
"Master, welcome." The butler greeted them at the entrance.
Arthur looked at the butler and said, "Have warm water and towels to my room in twenty minutes."
The butler first glanced at Livy who was hiding her face in Arthur's embrace, then replied, "I'll prepare it. Do I have to send food too?"
He had heard the news that their young lady had finally delivered a premature baby. Usually, women who give birth through surgery are still very susceptible to illness and food must be really maintained and avoid doctor's restrictions for their health.
Arthur said as he walked, "She has no appetite. Make something warm and easy to swallow."
"Yes."
As the butler was about to leave, Arthur called out to him again, "Jim, get the wheelchair out of the car and get the best baby stuff ready and put them in our room."
The butler, Jim, immediately understood. He didn't need to ask what it was all for, because the answer was obvious. He immediately withdrew.
Arthur himself asked for this because he understood Livy's character. Since being in the hospital, his wife couldn't wait to collect things for the baby, she even wanted to go directly to buy them herself. But Arthur certainly wouldn't allow it in her condition. For other things like taking care of a newborn baby that he didn't understand, maybe a maid who had been pregnant and had experience, would be placed directly to become a personal maid and teach Livy from now on.
After Arthur was satisfied with the arrangement, he carried Livy upstairs and gently placed her on the bed.
"I'll take a shower for a while, you sleep first. Then we'll eat together." Arthur pulled the covers up to her chin, gave her a quick kiss and left with the towel.
Immediately the sound of water could be heard from the bathroom, Livy immediately sat down and sighed tiredly.
Twenty minutes later, Arthur came out in a bathrobe. His wet body gave off a fresh and soft smell. He held a towel in his right hand, drying his hair quickly before changing clothes and sitting beside her.
"Did this just come?" He pointed at the basin of warm water on the counter.
"Mn."
"I'll help wipe your body," Arthur said, starting to take a clean towel in the basin and seriously rubbed her palms.
"Don't you want to ask me something?" She asked quietly on the sidelines of the activity.
His hand stopped, looking at her.
"If you want to say it then you will say it. If you don't want to say it, then there's no need to say it." He said, his gaze was so serene, and his dark black eyes gave her a hint of calm. "I won't force you."
Arthur looked down and rubbed Livy's hand again.
He more or less knew what she wanted to talk about, but for now the most important thing was to keep her mood calm as per the doctor's advice. He didn't want to burden her with any thoughts.
At least this time.
According to the sentence; if she wants to say it, then he will hear. If she doesn't want to, then he will wait. No coercion at all.
On the other hand, she who heard this was a little more relieved, she immediately felt safe. "I'll say it after we eat. Do you have time? Are you busy after this?"
Arthur smiled faintly, so faintly that anyone would not have noticed it.
He suddenly had an idea and said, "I'm not busy. Let's chat after eating while watching a movie."
An hour later, after Arthur heard all of Livy's stories, his expression was very cold. He tried hard not to look angry in front of his wife, but his defense was very weak regarding her, his hands clenched so tightly that his nails pricked his own fingers and bled.
Livy who saw this was frightened, she finally realized that the back of his hand was also injured and had not noticed this before.
Until finally, his anger softened. He hugged her shoulder gently.
"I know it's hard for you to believe me now. What's certain is that my reason for hiding it wasn't to lie to you."
When Arthur said this, there was still a trace of coldness in his voice.
"Father-in-law ... how is he now?" She asked hoarsely.
They were both in bed, tablet still on playing a play, but no one saw it. Arthur kissed the top of her head before replying, "He's fine. I gave my blood for him."
This fact was unexpected. She now knew that his father-in-law didn't kill himself, the middle-aged man was simply distraught because of his mistake and deliberately wanted to pay for all the pain of his wife in the past with his own blood.
However, not only was it a wasted effort, the blood he threw away, Arthur returned by donating it.
Livy more or less understood the embarrassment his father-in-law would suffer.
"And as for your aunt, I have no grudge against her. If you want to know her whereabouts, I can—"
Arthur didn't finish his words because Livy pulled him and kissed him.
It was just a fleeting kiss.
After she let go of the kiss, she looked at him with love and bitterness at the same time. This man is so good, why would anyone want to hurt him?
Livy looked down. "I believe in you. I'm sorry."

After Livy fell asleep, Arthur headed to his study where Evander was waiting. He informed Evander that Livy has given birth to a premature baby boy and this has something to do with Matthew. Also how Matthew threatened him to hand over Eternuz.
As Arthur narrated everything that had happened, Evander's expression was very calm.
"I'm actually fine with that. But think about how the people working at headquarters are. Would they agree?" Evander commented.
Arthur thought about it too.
"Your half-brother isn't good at business. I'll bet that within a year Eternuz will be ruined. But then again, all I'm thinking about are the workers there."
"I have no other choice."
Evander understood Arthur's feelings. Even though as they know, giving Eternuz to Matthew will not mean that he will stop immediately. The man had an abstract thought that couldn't be guessed at.
"See until Dave hears this," Evander said with a light laugh.
Of course, Dave would disagree.
Although Evander didn't care, he didn't agree in his heart either. However, he also did not force Arthur's will. If Eternuz disappears, he will build another Eternuz. He was very confident in his abilities.
"But if Dave knows the reason, he will definitely agree. Once he finds out what happened to his sister-in-law, he will not stay silent." Evander shrugged.
"That's what I thought too," Arthur said with a sigh. "At that time, why didn't you stop him from attacking Matthew?"
Arthur knew he didn't deserve this. Dave's impulsive action to attack Matthew was caused by Matthew himself.
After all, it was too late to regret this.
Let's be honest, Arthur doesn't care about Eternuz either. As long as Livy is okay and safe, that's the most important thing to him. No matter how much his wealth would vanish in an instant, as long as Livy was by his side, everything would turn out well.
On the other hand, the workers are just as important to him. They were there when Arthur was down in the past. Those who make him feel needed.
Evander said, "Well, calm down. Actually the problem is not that complicated either. It can still be solved."
This ambiguous sentence made Arthur frown.
Evander just stood there, with that annoying, mysterious smile. But Arthur knew something he's been doing secretly. Having known Evander for so long, he knew that Evander was very sneaky when he wanted something. This somewhat reminded him of the years where he had met the man for the first time.
"What have you done?" Arthur's gaze searched.
"What? Nothing. I just want to see how God's hand will act this time."

Matthew took a leisurely walk in the middle of the night to his small rental house. His foolish mother must have been waiting for some good news. He whistled all the way remembering everything his stepbrother had said.
'You can take everything. I don't care as long as you don't hurt Livy again.'
He laughed.
It never crossed his mind to hurt Livy. His intention was only to make her misunderstand and leave Arthur, then make Arthur fall into grief and go crazy.
Matthew just wants everything that Arthur has to disappear from him. So he thinks that he has no right to own anything. Because he really doesn't deserve it!
When Livy suddenly in pain like that, Matthew was quite surprised. So as soon as Arthur accused him, he deliberately pretended to be the culprit and easily threatened him. Didn't expect that seizing his rights was actually so easy.
God seems to be on his side.
He joyfully walked while humming. But just as he was about to enter the alley of his house, he saw that the place was bustling and full of lights. There were crowds of men in uniform with parked police cars.
It was then that he saw his mother being dragged out.
"What are you guys doing? Let me go! You don't know who I am! I'm Luther Finnegan's wife! You don't have to go around even if you're a cop!" His mother rebelled.
Right. Police.
Why did the police arrest his mother?
No. No. It is impossible for him to return there and be arrested either. It's a good thing he came out this afternoon, otherwise he would have been arrested too for being at home.
He immediately turned around in a hurry. He thought of a way to quickly escape from here. If the police catch his mother, it must be a family problem. Was his mother's crime exposed?
Who brought the police here? His stepbrother? Yes, definitely the bastard!
See how he will make up with it! Not intending to hurt Livy just bullshit! Now he will hurt her until she dies.
But just as he was running, he stopped when someone appeared from the shadows and blocked his path.
"F-Father ..." Matthew said in disbelief.
His father is here. Could it be those cops ...?
"Father, so you brought the damn cops?" Matthew stared at his father in disbelief.
There was no longer his father's fierce, cold and firm face. He looked a few years older after Matthew had not seen him for almost half a year. When was there gray hair in his father's hair?
Luther looked at him wistfully and said, "Matthew, I made a promise to your brother. I won't just throw you away and repeat the mistake."
"No! What do you mean?!"
Before Matthew could escape, he fell. His feet dropped to his knees and two people pressed him down. His hands were cuffed.
What's this? What kind of situation is this?
Matthew laughed loudly. The laughter was full of bitterness and disbelief. "This you said won't throw me away? Just so you know! I never considered you a father from the past! You ruined my life and my mother's! You are a villain here! You bastard! Let go of me! Let go of me, you bastard!"
Luther accepted all those sentences with a sore heart.
Even without Matthew telling him, he knows all of his deeds. He was the one who had started all these grudges and misfortunes. He had hurt his old and young wives and their children.
He didn't see how Matthew was dragged away by the police. Then he faced the police captain he knew.
His eyes were blank.
"You can catch me too. Throw me in jail with them." Luther was satisfied with this decision and he gave up his hands to be handcuffed.
... to be continued ...
