Chapter forty two
"I love you Laura and I would never die without your permission. I love you too much to do that" Drew chuckled.
He stroked her hair, tucking in a loose one that had escaped from her hair band. Drew knew she was scared and he was glad to be alive to live with her.
"Don't ever scare me like that again. I mean it Drew, I don't think my heart can take it anymore" Laura sighed.
"I promise you, Laura. I won't, wolf's honor" Drew smiled, crossing his hand.
Laura nuzzled his neck, licking the skin below his ears. Drew knew she was in heat and the only way to satisfy her was now.
"What do you want?" Drew breathed, flicking her breasts.
"You... Ohh, you ``Laura sighed.
She ground her heat into his erection. She didn't care whether they were in a hospital or not. All she wanted was to feel Drew's skin on hers.
"Do your thing baby girl" Drew growled.
Without wasting any more time, Laura closed the door with her magic before stripping down bit by bit. She straddled her mate, loving the way he was ready for her.
"You're mine Laura, all mine" Drew growled, gripping her waist tighter.
Laura pulled down his trousers in record time and she smiled when she saw his huge member glisten in precum. Laura licked the tip before swallowing him in whole, he was big but Laura was determined to satisfy him.
"That's it, baby, suck it" Drew growled.
He gripped her head, guiding her towards where he needed her the most. Drew's wolf threatened to take over if he didn't allow him out but Drew knew he couldn't. If he did, he would devour her completely.
"I'm going to" Drew huffed.
At that moment, he released into her mouth, loving the way she took it all in. Fast as lightning, Drew flipped her on the bed, slamming into her without abandon.
"Ohhh, Drew." Laura groaned.
"Take it all in baby girl, you're mine and I'm yours" Drew chuckled.
He thrust into her whilst spelling the letters of her full name. Drew loved the way his mate was always ready for him and he vowed to always make her happy for the rest of his life.
"Together darling" Drew growled.
They found their release together, riding on the crest of their love as they came down on their high. Drew pulled out gently, kissing in between the valley of her breasts. Laura giggled, gripping his head.
"I'll keep saying it, you'll be the death of me." Drew chuckled.
"Then you'll die a happy one," Laura smiled.
Just then, there was a knock on the door. Laura scrambled to her feet but Drew held her down, pinning her to his chest.
"Are you crazy, we need to dress up. Someone's at the door" Laura whispered.
"They'll leave, trust me." Drew smiled.
"And how do you know that?" Laura huffed.
"Trust me, you'll see.’’
True to his words, whoever was at the door left soon. Laura stared at him, wondering how on earth he knew that.
"See, I told you." Drew chuckled.
"But how did you know?" Laura asked.
She rose to her feet, pulling on her clothes. Even though she preferred staying naked with him, she didn't want a repeat of what had happened.
"You can as well call me a psychic," Drew smiled.
Laura could see that he was fully healed. Some of the colors had returned to his face as he got up on his feet. His healing process was rapid as a result of his wolf which hastened the process.
"Well, psychic Drew. What do you see about our future?" Laura teased.
She wrapped her hands around his neck, loving the way he held her protectively by the waist.
"Hmm, let's see. You, under me as I take you over the edge of the moon." he chuckled.
"Drew!" Laura laughed, smacking his chest.
"Okay, okay. I see you swollen with our unborn pups, maybe three or four in your stomach as you go about, making sure everyone around you is okay.’’ he smiled.
Serah stared at him. She placed her lips on his, gentle and loving. She didn't need to say the words as her emotions had already done justice to that.
*************************
"Baby, the full moon is tomorrow. Are you sure you're okay to host it?" Laura said.
It's been over a week since the attack but Drew still complained about minor pains in some sides of his body. The test result showed that he was shot with a poison-laced bullet that was capable of destroying his internal organs one at a time. According to the doctor, the only reason why Drew was still alive was due to Jack's timely intervention and Drew's wolf who aided the healing process.
Laura knew that it was his wolf who did most of the work and she knew that if he was a human, he would have been long dead.
"Of course darling, I will. I'm the Alpha and it's my responsibility to host my subjects.’’ he smiled.
"Babe, there's something I need to tell you," Laura said, wringing her hands together.
Drew gripped her hands, untangling her fingers which she had locked unknowingly. He placed her on his lap, smoothing her hair. He knew there was something wrong with the way she tensed up.
"I'm all ears darling, what's the matter?" he asked.
Laura told him all about the conversation with her stepbrother and her suspicions over their plans. Thinking about it now, Laura realized that her stepbrother and his father were probably planning something very bad.
"I hate to say this but I was right. Something is going on with your stepfather that you don't know about" Drew said.
"I know and now, it's glaring that something is wrong. Heck, asides from this attack, they’ve been really quiet which is something I find very strange.’’ Laura sighed.
"When did he come baby, I mean your stepbrother?" Drew asked.
His mind was already on the move, putting different ideas and theories together. He knew that Alpha Jed wasn't clean especially with the way he was behaving this past few days.
"About a week ago. The day I got the news of your attack, ``Laura said.
"And you're just telling me now? Why didn't you say something earlier on" Drew chided, gently?
"I'm sorry darling, I should have said something but I was so caught up with your accident and nursing you back to health. It suddenly slipped off my mind" Laura said.
"It's okay baby, I understand. Now, here's what's going to happen. You'll call your stepbrother, pretend like everything is okay and ask about your stepfather" Drew said.
Laura nodded, picking up her phone. She dialed her stepbrother's number, putting it on speaker. He picked on the fourth ring but Laura halted, the line had gone straight to voicemail.
"Something's wrong. I just know it" Laura said.
She hated to think about what those bastards were currently planning against her and Drew. Every minute without her knowing about what they were doing left her worried and tensed up.
"Try it again baby" Drew urged.
Laura took a deep breath before dialing her stepbrother's number once again. This time, he picked on the second ring.
"Hello.’’ he snapped.
Laura stared at Drew and she knew that they had the same thoughts. Her stepbrother was hiding something.
"Hey, are you at the pack house?’’ Laura asked.
Drew rose to his feet, nodding to tell her that he would be back soon. Laura sighed, gripping the phone tighter. He was back soon and with him was a phone tracker. He picked up the phone from her carefully, placing the tracker on the phone.
Drew Handed her back the phone. He moved to his laptop that was sitting on the table in the corner of the room and he began tracking the call. laura watched him frown from where he sat and she knew he didn't get what he was looking for.
"Bro where are you? What are you guys planning don’t even lie to me about that because I know you’re planning something." Laura said.
Drew gave her a thumbs up, urging her to go on. If he couldn't locate where they were, it was best she asked her stepbrother his whereabouts.
"I'm sorry Laura but I can't answer that question. My father and I are fine, I think that's all that matters."
Suddenly, the line went dead and Laura knew he had just cut the phone on her. This was new and she knew it was time for them to prepare for the battle ahead.
‘’Something is wrong, I can feel it,’’ Drew said.
‘’I feel it too Drew, my stepfather and his son are planning something terrible,’’ Laura said.
‘’Wait! When is the annual banquet?’’ Drew asked.
Laura racked her memory for this and she discovered it was going to hold on to the next full moon day which was a week away.
‘’In a week. Why? What’s the matter?’’ Laura asked.
‘’That’s when they are going to strike,’’ Drew said, finally.
