She's the girl you bumped into...
Kate finally reached Jewel nightclub after walking for about
two hours, flat out. She’s running out
of breath that she nearly collapsed in
front of the club.
Walking under the sun wasn’t
funny nor easy but she held on strong. She wondered what the stranger has
that belonged to her. It didn’t occur to her that it might be her I.D,
practically what she needed the most to
secure her job.
Kate walked into the empty club room and went to the counter
straight where she ordered a bottle of
water. She slipped into one of the booths at the dark corner of the club and
took a swift sip of the water, letting the chilled liquid work its way down her
scorching throat and stomach.
Afterward, she reclined on the seat and before she knew what
was happening, Kate dozed off.
When she woke up later, she saw people coming into the club
in numbers and something told her
she’s been asleep for hours. Out of curiosity she asked someone on the
booth opposite hers and the man told her
its already seven P.m
Kate’s face scrunched
up. She was sure she arrived her around eleven a.m but this stranger kept her
waiting almost eight hours.
She picked up her phone to put the person on a call but she
remembered the condition of her phone.
Kate excused herself to use the
restroom maybe when she returned the man
will be there.
Aiden finished for
the day at Brazzers and quickly drove to the club, not because of the stupid
girl he’s holding her I.D but because of
the fun he wanted to have with Michael
and Alex.
Speaking of Alex, Aiden called his brother and informed him
about meeting at the club of which Alex agreed. Though, Alex’s
voice was not really enthused
about meeting up. Aiden of course, doesn’t notice the weak reply his brother gave him.
He just ended the call and swerve through the traffic.
Alex is scared about meeting
with Michael. Seriously they haven’t seen each for years and Alex is avoiding Michael because one word from Michael will expose the thing
he's been keeping from Aiden for years.
Alex had blocked Michael in every possible way so Michael
would forget the truth he's hiding.
However, Aiden reached the club and walked into the few people
dancing to their hearts content in front of the dancefloor.
He reached out for his phone and called Kate’s number but the girl didn’t pick. He tried three times yet no response.
Sighing, Aiden went to the bar where he sat and ordered some shots of Cognac
while waiting for Mike and Alex.
Kate manageably adjusted
her hair in front of the mirror
in the restroom. Her stomach is already grumbling as she walked out of
the restroom to her seat. She brought
out her cracked-screen phone but she barely
made out what was on the screen.
She felt the stranger hadn’t
call her yet and out of frustration, Kate stomped to the bar. She was about to twist on her
ankle but she fell onto Aiden’s back,
making his drink to pour onto his shirt.
Annoyed, Aiden whirled around only for the both of them to shout
as shock etched onto their faces.
Kate’s scared and
angry at the same time seeing the arrogant asshole that might be her
potential boss. And Aiden surely
hadn’t forgotten the girl with a stupid-ass mouth.
“How dare you walk into me?” Aiden fired, standing from the
seat. If he thought he's size is going to scare Kate off, he’s wrong. Kate matched his gaze with her hard ones
and crossed her hand over her chest.
“Hell, bird, can’t you apologize for the shit you did?”
Aiden yelled, gritting his teeth. He analyzed
Kate and hell he hasn’t seen a
girl looking so out of the league. Torn dress, dusty legs and shoes, haggard
hair.
Damn, she looked like she was chased by a ghost . Worse of
all, she doesn’t even bother to hide it.
Christ. Aiden hadn’t seen someone as
shameless as her.
“Why would I?” Kate fired, her eyes narrowing into slits.
Does he think she’s forgotten what he did to her at elevator? “You tore my
dress, remember? So, you apologize
first.” She demanded, making Aiden brush into laughter.
“Like hell I will.” Aiden stated.
“Oh, well then. Let’s see who wins this game.” Kate shoulder
passed Aiden and reached for his drink. She wanted to do something that’ll irk Aiden so much.
If women worship him so much that he has everything wrapped up in his finger, she’s going to prove the boy wrong tonight ,
besides the stranger is yet to come here.
She reached for his glass of Cognac, gripped it and closed
her lip around the glass taking a sip.
Aiden’s annoyance for
the girl reached a new height. “How dare you? How could have…”
“Oh, is it yours?” Kate teased. She liked the look of pure annoyance pouring from his
face. “Never knew you could afford such an expensive drink. Hmmm…” She managed to keep a
straight face even though the sip of
Cognac is burning a trail in her throat.
Aiden hadn’t seen
someone say such a thing to him. Does he
look poor to this bird? Hell, she’s the
one in need of a serious help.
“You’ll pay for that, I swear.”
“Oh, my…you’re
swearing because of a little
sip?” Kate tsk and ever so slowly poured the cognac away, making Aiden more out
of the league angry.
Aiden stepped forward
and grabbed Kate’s hand in an almost bruising grip. They bored
their eyes into each other’s as the
music in the background blared.
“How dare you?” He snarled.
“And how dare you tear my dress. Do you know what it cost to
afford that?” Kate rasped, matching Aiden’s
death tone.
“You want me to apologize
for…what? Tearing your dress?” He scoffed. “I'd never do that, not until
you apologize for soiling my shirt and
drinking my cognac and pouring it away. Big offences.” He snapped.
Kate laughed at his words. Oh, his are minor offenses and hers
are big offenses?
She wasn’t wrong when
she said the guy is fucking arrogant. He doesn’t even bother to hide it at all. Kate thought
and switched into a bigger laughter that
has Aiden reeling in rage.
“Okay…my offences are big while yours are small? How perfect.
Okay…since by nature things are supposed to be done starting with small steps.
Why don’t we apply the rule of nature
here and now. Let’s start with small
offences and who committed it should
apologize before the person that committed
big offences apologized later.” Kate
offered but she earned a growl from Aiden.
Seriously, this girl is small and full of wisdom. Ah…Aiden
loved using people’s head but this
slender girl here is nothing like the people he uses. She’s full of wisdom . Smart.
Still, Aiden refused to grovel.
“Well?” Kate shrugged, waiting to hear what Aiden will say
but someone’s voice disrupted their eye contest.
“Aiden.” The voice streamed his name and Aiden turned,
knowing who that is.
“I swear Mike, I’m gonna squeeze this girl. She lost her manners totally.”
Aiden rasped as Mike stepped closer,
taking in the scene before him.
“Oh, hi. It’s you.”
Mike immediately wore
a smile on his face as he
recognized Kate. Kate gave him a half
smile as she turned her attention back
to Aiden.
“You know her?” Aiden asked Mike.
“Of course, she’s the
girl you bumped into last night.”
At Mike’ words, both
Aiden and Kate spared each other a glare and shouted.
“You!!?”
