A HEART ATTACK FOR THE COLD PRINCE
The final bite of honey brioche slipped into my mouth.
My cheeks puffed out completely, making me feel like a squirrel hoarding food for winter. Before I could even swallow the last mouthful, a small army of maids rushed toward me, armed with combs, silk cloths, and bottles of perfume that smelled as sweet as a rose garden in spring.
“W-Wait… slowly…” I squeaked, but my voice was drowned out by their heated debate over which ribbon color best matched the gradient of my blue-and-gold hair.
[DING!]
[System Alert: Primary Target ‘Caelus Sol Hyperion’ will arrive in 30 minutes.]
[Emergency Mission: Deliver the most heart-melting first impression!]
[Mission Reward: Recipe ‘Cotton Cloud Bread’ and Passive Skill ‘Sparkling Pleading Eyes’ Level 1.]
Cotton cloud bread…?
I swallowed reflexively. That sounded far more tempting than merely sitting still as a Crown Princess.
[System Recommendation: Wear the ‘Morning Dew’ dress located in the third wardrobe.]
[Effect: Increases ‘Rarest Cuteness’ status by 200%.]
I could only obey the instructions echoing inside my mind.
The maids froze when I pointed to a high-collared dress adorned with delicate lace—ivory white with soft pale-blue accents.
After a long battle with the corset—mercifully loosened after the system mysteriously instructed the maids to do so—I was finally ready.
I headed toward the palace’s glass garden where the meeting would take place. Each step I took was accompanied by the gentle kling-kling of star bells from my arm and hair.
There, amidst silver lilies in full bloom, sat a man.
Prince Caelus Sol Hyperion.
He was reading a military document, his brows furrowed. His platinum silver hair gleamed sharply under the sunlight, and his molten-gold eyes were cold enough to freeze anyone who dared interrupt him.
He was the embodiment of dangerous beauty.
“U-Um… Prince Caelus?”
I called out in a small, trembling voice. My long-forgotten shyness resurfaced in the face of his intimidating presence. I clutched the hem of my blue dress, causing the bell on my arm to ring clearly.
Caelus looked up.
His sharp gaze swept over me from head to toe.
Silence fell.
I was so nervous that, without realizing it, I did the very thing I used to do back in the bakery whenever facing an irritable customer—
I smiled widely and sincerely, tilting my head.
“I’m sorry for making you wait. W-Would you like some bread?”
At that moment, the system activated.
[Active Skill Detected: ‘Innocent Radiant Smile’ (Max Level – Soul-Bound: Anya)]
[Critical Hit! Target Caelus Sol Hyperion is afflicted with ‘Stun’ for 5 seconds!]
Prince Caelus froze.
The military document slipped from his fingers and fell onto the marble floor. His molten-gold eyes widened, and I could see a faint blush creeping from his neck up to the tips of his ears.
“A-Aeria…?”
His once-cold voice cracked, turning hoarse.
“Yes, it’s Aeria. Is there something wrong with my face?” I asked with extreme innocence. I stepped closer, and somehow, with the system’s assistance, the warm aroma of freshly baked bread surrounded me.
Caelus immediately covered his mouth with the back of his gloved hand, turning his face away with stiff movements.
“Don’t… don’t come any closer yet. Stay right there.”
“Why? Do I look strange?”
My heart sank. Was it because my hair kept changing colors? Without realizing it, my eyes began to water in disappointment.
[DING! Skill ‘Sparkling Pleading Eyes’ AUTOMATICALLY ACTIVATED!]
Caelus choked on his own breath.
He sprang to his feet so abruptly that his chair nearly toppled backward. With long strides, he approached me—but instead of scolding me, he removed his luxurious silver cloak and gently draped it over my small shoulders.
“No. You are not strange,” he said, his voice now deeply protective—almost possessive.
“However… from now on, do not show that face to any man other than me. Do you understand?”
I blinked in confusion. “Eh? Why?”
Caelus did not answer. He simply stared at me with an intense gaze—as though I were the rarest treasure he had just discovered.
His large, black-gloved hand rested gently atop my head, as if afraid I might shatter under even the slightest pressure.
“Because you are… far too dangerous to the kingdom’s security if you wander around with a face like that,” he murmured.
[DING! Relationship with Fiancé has increased dramatically!]
[Caelus Status: Severely Obsessed with Your Cuteness.]
[Bonus Reward: Royal Earl Grey Tea Set and Star Macarons have appeared on the table!]
I did not understand what he meant—but the sudden aroma of Earl Grey lifted my spirits instantly.
“Prince, look! There’s tea and sweets! Let’s eat together!”
I tugged enthusiastically at his sleeve. Caelus could only surrender, allowing himself to be pulled along by a girl who barely reached his shoulder.
He let out a long sigh, yet the corner of his cold lips slowly curved into a faint, devastatingly handsome smile.
Behind the garden pillars, maids and guards peeked out with flushed faces, desperately holding back squeals of delight at the scene unfolding before them.
Meanwhile, I had only one thought:
This system is amazing. It always knows when I’m hungry!
“This is for you, Prince. It’s the softest bread!”
I held out a piece of bread directly before his lips, my eyes sparkling with hopeful anticipation.
Caelus fell silent. He looked at the bread—then at me.
Slowly, the prince who was feared most on the battlefield opened his mouth, accepting a bite from his small, miraculous fiancée.
