Puppy eyes
“Are you certain… Shania, I know this is what I always wanted for you…but…” Isabella said hesitantly when Shania was taking some of her things Christian's assistant didn't manage to get. With a sigh, Shania nodded as she shoved some makeup things into a duffel bag. Isabella was nagging her again.
“It's just for three months,” Shania remarked and continued with what she was doing. For it, she decided to stay with her mom's family. Three months was not that much.
“But…what about… I mean, will you take care of yourself… I won't be there to remind you about the doctor's appointment and…” Isabella was anxious to know. Shania stopped what she was doing and looked at her friend panicking,
“I'm not a child okay, now stop it… I'll be fine,” she said with a smile and went back to packing. Isabella was overreacting for no reason. She was a woman, not a child
“Call me if you need anything… no matter the time just call me, and I'll come running,” Isabella said while seeing her off, Shania nodded and both hugged each other.
Christian's assistant Travis came to pick her up, Shania hated the idea of going to her mom's family, but she was irritated
The man guided her to the car, she settled in so did she and the car drove away from the building of
The entire time she was thinking and making up plans to keep her job at the club, the fact that she was going to be staying in a house with strangers made Shania feel insecure
Christian was another problem haunting her, snapping out of her thoughts. Shania has already reached the Kingston mansion. Travis had the honor of opening the door for her, and she stepped out
“I can manage,” she said when Travis tried to take her bag, Shania looked up and found her two sisters and mom waiting for her. Immediately they saw her, they rushed to her
“ Thank goodness you came… Chris said you wouldn't dare show up,” one of the twins said while hugging her. Shania still remained unsure of what to do. Her mom joined them but stood from afar. Shania noticed the younger woman was Rose. She was more friendly and jovial than the other one
“Now I'm happy, I felt sad when you left,” The girl said with a sad expression
“Welcome sweetie…” Madeline said happily, Shania let the girl holding her move away when she proceeded to the entrance
“Mom, she's beautiful… can I sleep in her room,” Rose asked when they went inside the house
“No sweetie…let Shania rest… Bethany?” Madeline said to her daughter then called the servant
“Yes madam,” Bethany came rushing and bowed respectfully
“Show Shania her room… I'll inform George and Christian,” Madeline gazed at her orders and Bethany nodded and took Shania's bag. At the mention of Christian, her heart skipped a beat. How was she to sleep
When Shania was shown her room, she was content yet thought it was not what she was used to
A large queen size bed covered in gold and white linens. The walls were painted white. There was a large sitting area with three sets of sofas and a coffee table in the middle. Shania's eyes darted around as she walked to the bed and sat down.
Taking out her phone, she powered it on. Since she was in a foreign place, she decided to disturb SM
“Can I invite you out for lunch,” Shania sent the message and waited for him to reply? He was the closest thing she had. He understood her more than anyone. There was no reply from him even after so many minutes that passed. Shania guessed he was busy, and feeling irritated, she decided to explore the bedroom more.

“Everything okay?” George asked a disturbed Christian who had his narrowed eyes fixed on his phone.
“Great,” Christian said and looked at his phone screen one more time and shoved it in his pocket
“Very well, I want you to have a look at this…” George didn't pay much attention to Christian's sudden change of behavior as he handed him a file. Both were having an enclosed meeting in the study room.
“Don't worry, I have a plan… like you said having Ms Palmer can be a great help,” Christian said, slamming the file on the table. Both wanted what was best for the company.
“Other than that, I want you to reconsider… the wedding,” George said calmly and leaned back in the chair. Christian's expression turned sour, he preferred not to hear anything about marriage
“Dad, I already made up my mind… I won't get married,” it was his decision, whether for business or not. He wasn't interested in getting married
“We lost many shareholders and clients Dammit!” George yelled, slamming his hand on the armrest, Christian was startled by his sudden outburst. Yes, his actions affected the company a lot. But there was nothing he could do
“We don't need them… I'll work day and night to restore our glory. You don't have to worry,” he gave his word. Despite the trench they were falling, Christian vowed to work hard and make sure their company reigned supreme.
“Find a way to fix this. I don't want the company I worked hard to build to end up in shackles,” George remarked through gritted teeth, his son was irresponsible, he took everything as a joke.
“Rest assured old man… my team will…”
“You have three months to achieve this…failure to that… you'll have to marry Smith's daughter unquestionably,” George gave his orders with authority. Christian knew his father was serious,
“Yes sir,” Christian said and rose to his feet. Upon hearing how Christian addressed him. George grew wary. His stern expression dropped. Christian only called him sir when he was reminded of his mother
“You know that's not…”
“Your company comes first… don't worry, I won't let you finish…for her sake,” Christian said coldly and walked out on his father, George was left thinking. No matter what he did, Christian never understood him. But he had to let go, people weren't meant to live forever,
Christian was going to his room when he heard giggling and laughing, stopping in his tracks. He found the door next to his door slightly open. The bed was at the center; hence he could see what was going on inside. Shania was with Rose. It seemed his little sister was trunking the new addition to the family
“He's nice, very nice. It's just that… he's sad,” he heard Rose say, narrowing his eyes. Christian was about to walk away when
“Do you like him?” His sister asked, surprisingly not just Shania but Christian as well.
Back inside, Shania had frozen in place as she looked at the little girl before her.
“No…where did you get that idea from? “ Oh gosh, how on earth did the girl come up with such a conclusion? She was about to sleep when Rose came to bother her. She didn't stop talking about Christian
“Chris looks at you with puppy eyes… do you know…he never looks at any other woman with puppy eyes… he does it with you, so he likes you," Rose said with a few giggles, making Shania even more surprised. Blinking a few times, she tried to understand the girl, she was young yet so blunt. If a little girl could see what was happening, then the rest would as well.
