An affair
Christian was lost as he stared at Shania without blinking, from her nape to her plump pink lips. Swallowing hard. His grip on her loosened.
“What makes you think that?” He asked in a serious tone. Shania didn't dare look away,
“I'm just wondering why you got upset…it's not like you are him…am I right?” She whispered without breaking eye contact, Christian felt his heart skip a beat. Yes, he overreacted back then. Because she was busy badmouthing him. Despite having had feelings for him as SM.
“That's not it, I just felt like…you trusted that man and hearing you…made me wonder,” Christian replied calmly, but Shania only blinked several times. There was silence between Christian and Shania, and the cold air coming from the large glass window had Shania licking her lips a little. Christian's hands moved to her waist and then to her back.
“Do you have any secrets,” Shania asked, by now Christian's mouth was an inch from hers. She could feel his hot breath moisturizing her lip. On the other hand, Christian's eyes were closed shut as he felt the woman in his arms.
“No,” he replied instantly and captured her mouth for a kiss. Shania couldn't resist as she kissed him back, Christian hoisted her up, trapping her against the wall, while Shania's legs wrapped around his back.
“Mm,” Christian snaked his hands to Shania's neck, pressing her firmly to him. Both were lost in each other's kisses.
“What's going on, him,” someone said, startling both that Shania's eyes opened only to climb off Christian upon seeing the man standing away from them.
“What's all this?” Raymond asked again as his eyes traveled from Christian to Shania. Both were disturbed that too, Shania knew, just seeing how Christian was muttering curses.
“Nothing,” Shania said once she regained her wits and stormed away from her, leaving Raymond fuming in anger. His eyes shifted to Christian. Of course, Christian ignored Raymond and was about to storm away when.
“You know this is wrong…how dare you take advantage of her!” Raymond made a low yell, his face was contorted with rage as he sized up Christian. Both men knew they didn't like each other.
“What rights do you have…over what I do?” Christian asked disdainfully, he didn't need an old man telling him what to do. Hearing Christian, Raymond was infuriated.
“I know you, Ace, I know your cheap tactics…she's innocent…whatever you have should stop” Raymond muttered angrily, his sharp eyes fixed on Christian so that anyone would feel intimidated by his aura. However, Christian held his head high, knowing no man could intimidate him.
“Worry about yourself and don't meddle in my affairs,” saying that sternly, Christian walked away, but Raymond wasn't done.
“Stay away from her…you'll only hurt her…do you hear me, Ace!” Raymond shouted angrily, but Christian was already out of sight.
“I won't let you, how dare you,” Raymond muttered through gritted teeth, his hands clenched tightly at his side.
It turned out, Raymond and Mr. Hector knew each other and were planning to do business together. Shania was uncomfortable sitting with the men. Mr. Nikolai suggested they had dinner and play some cards. Shania stayed because Christian wouldn't let her go alone.
It was torturous, especially when Raymond kept looking at her disdainfully. She was aware he saw what happened between her and Christian.
“What is it?” Shania asked as she turned sound abruptly, Raymond was hooked by her outburst. He just wanted to talk to her.
“I know he must have deceived you into this…but do you think this is right?” Raymond asked with desperation, he saw how she was so into Christian without knowing. Who knew what he suspected could be the truth?
“He's marrying my sister in a month…why are you doing this?” Raymond added when he noticed Shania wasn't replying. He wanted to know how she ended up having an affair with her stepbrother.
“Look here… I'm too tired to answer you… I'm a grown-up… I think I don't need lectures,” Shania said while massaging her temples and left from there. It had been a crazy night, all she wanted was to rest. Raymond was left there standing with countless questions circling in his head. He needed to stop whatever was happening before Shania made a big mistake.

The trip came to an end, especially when Shawn left for Canada early without notifying anyone. Shania was disturbed because she had to deal with Raymond and his constant questions. Christian was busy with Mr. Nikolai, who decided to pay a visit to Canada with his wife.
“I don't know what's happening… His phone is off,” Isabella paced back and forth, Shania kept silent as she cradled her phone in her hands. Isabella stopped pacing and looked at her friend.
“Shania, I need help here…what's going on with you,” Isabella frowned and walked up to Shania. The woman glanced up and she seemed lost. Isabella knew Shania too well, and Shania was overthinking about something.
“Is this about Ace…we both know he wants you…not that, Ashley,” Isabella said and sat down. Shania jerked back to her senses and let out an exhalation.
“It's not that,” Shania said nonchalantly and picked up a glass of water. Isabella was not satisfied as she stared at her friend.
“Then what's getting you like this?”
“Nothing, okay…tell about Shawn…where is he… Christian won't say a word,” Shania said, changing the topic, Isabella understood Shania and didn't want to push things far.
“I don't know…it's like he disappeared into thin air,” Isabella exhaled heavily and slammed her back against the sofa. Both were at their old apartment, enjoying a good afternoon. Of course, Shania was running away from all the wedding arrangements going on at the Kingston mansion.
“You better find him and settle this… Ace said he had never seen the brothers fight like this…” Shania already knew what transpired between her friend and the two brothers. It turned out someone caught feelings.
“I don't know, okay…it's just…” Isabella started, but Shania's phone vibrating cut her off. Carefully getting it from the table. Shania's expression turned sour when she saw Madeline calling.
“Answer it,” Isabella coaxed, but Shania shook her head.
“Nah, there's a family dinner going on this evening… Apparently two of Christian's cousins are coming… I need to go," Shania said with a sigh, it was about time she went back home. She left in the morning with an excuse to see Isabella. But now she had to go. Hopefully, the cousins were so bad, especially when she had to tolerate Christian in the same house.
