Secrets exposed
Shania shifted a little until she was half lying on the bed while her head rested on Christian's chest. She didn't have to put two and two to know she got trapped again.
“Good morning,” she heard Christian's sleepy voice. Her eyes opened, but she didn't dare answer. The man was busy playing with her hair. “Can we talk,” he mumbled lazily and glanced down? He needed to have a word with Shania. Why was she avoiding him for the past week?
“There's nothing to talk about,” Shania finally said, Christian detected anger in her voice. Which meant something was bothering her.
“We are a couple… I'm sure by now that's damn clear…talk to me,” Christian said, adjusting himself upright until he was leaning his back against the headboard.
“As much as I want us to be like this. I want the whole world to know…you are my woman,” he muttered and carefully gripped Shania's chin and tilted her head up.
“Face it Christian…this relationship won't go anywhere…it's just a little fantasy" Shania finally said, she had had enough of everything. Madeline considered her a slut for being with Christian.
“I know what I want and no one can tell me…otherwise,” Christian frowned, he guessed right. Shania was backing away, all because of the relationship they shared.
“You don't know anything…wake up Ace…people will talk…your prestigious family will be dragged through the mud,” Shania remarked, hoping he would understand. The probability of them being together was narrow.
“Who said that?” Christian asked with narrowed eyes “Who's feeding you this…we are not related and if no one accepts our relationship…then we can as well as leave this damned country forever,” he wasn't taking any chances, he came to realize one thing. Shania meant everything to him. It wasn't a fling or infatuation, but he felt something real.
“We have siblings…think about that…” Shania retorted, she thought about all possibilities and came to a conclusion. The world would frown upon her relationship with Christian. There was an amount of silence in the room. Both were just staring at each other.
“I have to go,” Shania said, leaving Christian's side. His silence proved it all. He had to get back to his senses.
“I'm not done yet,” Christian grabbed her arm and pulled her back to him. A low gasp escaped her lips. Glancing up, she met Christian's piercing gaze.
“No one will stop me from having you…as my wife,” saying that, Christian extended his hand toward the nightstand. Shania's gaze followed there. The man jiggled some keys until the first drawer opened. To her surprise, the man retrieved a small red box.
“Christian," Shania muttered, blinking a few times confused.
“I may not be the perfect man you dreamed of…damn I'm a mess and all…but I know with you beside me… I'm a happy man… Shania will do the honors and be my wife,” the man said and opened the small box. Shania's eyes glimmered in shock upon seeing a gold ring shimmering in the box. Glancing up, she found Christian staring at her like a docile cat. There was nothing but sincerity in his eyes. She tried, certainly, to spot lies in his eyes, but no.
“I won't let you go. I promise to be a better person and make you always smile,” he added, although his voice sounded hesitant.
“Chris, it didn't get to this… I…” She was tongue-tied, afraid of this…she thought he was just making jokes.
"I have no doubts…I may not know what I feel…but believe me, a day away from you is like a sharp blade slicing my heart into pieces,"”he whispered and took her left hand. Shania was nervous, she had the urge to stop him. But the warmth engulfing her hearing Christian's words was too overwhelming.
"Give me a chance to prove myself…" he slipped the ring on her finger and hell, t ffittedright in. Before Shania knew it. Tears were falling non-stop. Her heart was thumping painfully.
"I don't know… Ace this…"”It was too much, she knew how the story would end.
"Madeline won't like this…you are engaged to Ashley… I…” Shania panicked and tried to remove the ring when Christian stopped her.
“I broke the engagement months ago… I don't want her…my feelings for you haven't changed since that night,” he wasn't going to marry another woman. After that night, he spent time with Shania. All he wanted was to make her happy.
“If you are worried… I'm willing to end this publicly… I won't marry her,” he said, grabbing her hand and kissing it. Shania didn't know what to say. This would bring fights. Especially when Madeline wanted Christian to marry Ashley.

It turned out Christian had brought her to his villa. Shania had been there before, but this time she was feeling different. Her eyes couldn't leave her finger. The ring looked beautiful and expensive. Recalling Christian's words brought tears to her eyes.
“Yes, stupid…he did it,” Shania said in between sobs and walked into the kitchen to get a bottle of water. She had called Isabella to tell her everything. This was a big deal to keep to herself.
“Shut up, Isa. I don't know what to do” She didn't know Christian was serious about this. It was too good to be true.
“Damn you, I'll be there,” Shania chuckled and walked to the living room. Christian had gone out; hence she took a shower. Wore his clothes and decided to watch a movie. Picking up the remote. Shania smiled and turned the TV on. She didn't recall the last time she sat to watch TV, mainly because she was always busy at the club.
“This should do,” she decided to watch everything in fashion. Maybe she could spot a beautiful wedding dress. However, her smile vanished upon seeing what was on the screen.
“This can't be,” she whispered, getting up from the couch. She thought she was seeing things, but no. Her pictures were all over. Not just her pictures, but as the butterfly queen and as Shania. She turned on the volume and what she heard caused her knees to weaken. How did this happen? Who did this?
