9 ~ The King is nothing without the Queen

Sultan POV

She held my hand and it worsened my racing heartbeats. I didn't know why I wasn't able to hold my attraction toward her. My purpose was just to mark her so that nobody questions our relation but those two kisses on her back were something that came out unconsciously.

I turned to look at her and she looked at my face.

"Are you blushing?" She asked with knitted eyebrows and flat expressions.

"No" I answered back.

I was trying hard not to reveal that it was something very hard for me to do as I had never thought of any woman, never saw and touched any woman than one.

I used to be very open with her but I couldn't do anything with her. I couldn't disgrace my love.

"Yes, and why do you do it now?" She asked coming closer.

"Means?" I asked not understanding what she wanted to say.

"If you wanted then you could have done it in the night too... why now?... why in my conscious state?" She said and knitted her eyebrows and continued.

"That means you know that I don't remember anything about last night... What happened last between us?" She asked glaring into my eyes.

I lifted my gaze and met eyes with her. Even though I become weak in front of women but that didn't mean she could question me like that.

"There was a lot that happened between us... How much should I tell" I said feathering her cheeks. I had noticed yesterday that her face changes so sweet whenever I touch her cheeks. Her eyes become soft and I feel her getting affected by my touch.

Her eyes dated over mine and I just couldn't stop myself from getting closer. Her curly fringes were wet as she came out of Hammam. I leaned into her ear locking her hair behind and muttered.

"The black on your back is extravagant and your legs... my god!" I lied just to make her a little unconfident so that she didn't question anymore and just as I thought. She felt irritated and pushed me in anger.

"Get out from here," She said in anger.

I smiled a little and said.

"Not now Begum..."

She turned away from me and I felt a little relaxed.

"Listen," I said and grabbed her attention.

She looked at me and I could see tears in her eyes.

"There is the necklace for you Matching with this attire in that wooden box... Wear it today" I signaled her a wooden box and she diverted her gaze to it.

"Are you ordering me? " She asked in fury.

"No begum... Your sultan is begging you" I said in a dramatic way and she rolled her eyes.

"Yes, I like people who beg to me," She said sarcastically walking towards that wooden box.

"And, I liked the way you begged last night," I said and looked at her not thinking of leaving now.

She became silent and just tried to not look at me.

She stood holding the box and started muttering something.

I was closely watching her and she finally yelled.

"Please leave, I need to get ready!"

I smiled sarcastically and replied.

"Beg a little politely"

She kept the box on the couch and inhaled a long breath, walked to me, and stood high in front of me meeting my gaze.

"The King you think of yourself in this Chess, Remember the Queen is the most important one... I dont need you... You need me... So behave yourself." She said and rolled her eyes. I felt something inside me as she finished. I could see the hate she had for me. I enjoyed that but before she could move away from my sight she stopped and again looked at me.

"And you are a very cheap kind of person if you have touched me without my permission"

Her eyes were filled with rage and all I could answer was "We will see that later, get ready first otherwise I would take you as you are looking"

Honestly, I didn't like even a single word she uttered. Her words were dripping anger, negativity, hate, and rage for me. And thinking for some time I realized why the hell was I thinking that much?

I moved out of the dressing room and came into the Bedroom. There was a huge couch and I could see some of the important letters lying on the table. I moved the couch and sat comfortably on it. I went through all the letters and there was one letter that needed my personal concerns. I opened it and read it again.

I read the letter and smiled. I lowered my hand to touch the lower side of the table. I slid the hidden door fixed on the lower surface of the table and took out the small wooden crafted box. I took out the Royal Stamp and firstly I stamped this particular letter. After that, I quickly stamped other important letters. I kept all the letters in the hidden drawer of the table and by the time I pushed the drawer inside, I heard the anklet bells.

I noticed her standing in front of me and my gaze fixed on her. I noticed her from up and down, unknowingly this time and my hand consciously moved the wooden stamp box back to its place. She was wearing a necklace and it was looking beautiful on her. The blue-green peacock color was looking extravagant on her. The length of her slightly longer than her height. Zeenat ordered the Tailor to stitch clothes as they people wear even before she came here.

When My gaze met her eyes, I noticed that her sight was fixed on my hand. I coughed a little and her face turned a little as she was caught off-guard.

"Shall we go?" I asked standing up and taking my overcoat from the couch.

I slid both my arms in it and she nodded her head noticing my every moment.

We both walked together and just when she stepped outside the chamber she covered her face with the veil.

I noticed her movement and said.

"There is no need to cover your face... No one is senior to you here, Zeenat also doesn't do that."

She placed her dupatta on her head neatly and looked in my eyes for a few moments.

We walk through our chamber and then came the huge Garden.

"This is the common garden for all the ladies here," I said while we walk through the path of the garden. I noticed a lot of giggles and laughter as there were so many ladies roaming around in the garden.

"There is one more for the Royal couples only," I said to her and she just lifted her gaze to me. I could see the nervousness on her face and I could see the blush on her face as I mentioned 'Royal Couples'.

"We also have so many gardens in my Empire... and my brother has a separate garden of Roses. It has all varieties of roses" She said while we walk and hearing the roses, something twitched in my stomach.

"Nice," I said.

After crossing the garden we came across the series of chambers of all our head personalities. The area was huge and There were gardens and galleries to walk through it.

"What are these chambers?" She asked looking at them.

"They are chambers of all our important peoples, Army chief, first hand, second hand, royal chef, Physician, and other so many people," I said without looking at her.

"Oh," She said.

Then we walked silently and I must say she had the keenness to know Everything. Her sight was busy registering all the hallways, galleries, and chambers. And I was well aware of what was the purpose behind all this.

Then there came the 'The death Lake' of our sultanate.

There was a huge lake between that was parting the two empires. It was huge and the thing it was famous for was its crocodiles. I looked at the three dangerous crocodiles swimming on the surface of the water. The whole lake was covered with the iron net fence and I looked at the person beside me. Her face turned pale and she was looking at me.

I smiled a little and said.

"If you ever dare to irritate me again, I will order someone to throw you in it," I said and her face fell more.

I smiled a little and walked towards the bridge to cross the huge lake. The bridge was as old as I didn't know. It was made of strong woods and it had a railing of iron net and ropes too. The only thing that was scary was the sound it made whenever someone crosses it.

I signaled her to walk with me and we both stepped on the bridge. It created and screeching sound and I felt her holding my hand in fear. The bridge always seems as if it would break any moment, but it never happened.

We both walked and I could feel the sweat in her palm and the fear she felt by the time we walked over it. I smiled as I felt her fear.

"Who lives here?" She asked instantly and her voice was husky.

We stepped down from the bridge and I answered.

"My mother" I answered.

"Your stepmother?" She asked.

"How you know that?" I instantly questioned.

"Nagma talks a lot." She replied and I understood in a moment.

We walked through the few more galleries, gardens and reached the most beautiful chamber of this part of the Empire.

"Answer wisely whatever she asks," I said to her and she didn't reply anything.

We entered her chamber and found her sitting on the huge couch that was chained to the roof and swings. She was sitting on it and talking to a few ladies in her devious accent. She just heard the anklet bells of my Begum as she turned her gaze to us and said.

"Oh my Goodness... look Sultan came with her new Begum"

I smiled weakly and wished her.

"Assalamualaikum Ammi-jaan"

"Walaikum-a-salam Rafiq"

I took her hand and kissed her. I could see the fake smile she was carrying. Then, her gaze turned to the person standing beside me. She bent down to touch her feet and she instantly took a few steps back.

"What the hell with her manners?" She shouted.

"They greet like this," I said.

"I thought she would be learning our customs," She said noticing her from up to down.

"There is no need for that." I objected.

"So, you accepted her as your wife," She asked looking at me. Her eyes were filled with dark kajal and I could see her black tongue when she said.

She was known as the one who does black magic and there was her hand behind most of the tragedies of our Empire.

"Yes," I said and noticed her eyes getting bigger as her gaze was darted over her neck.

"I didn't expect, you would give anyone the privilege of being your wife then her," She said almost touching her neck.

She felt scared and I could feel it just by looking at her face.

"Do not touch her," I said softly and I could see the rage in her eyes. Well, that was the motive behind making love bites on her neck. She was one who was waiting for my death and there I told her that my journey was just started.

Her eyes turned bloodshot red and she muttered in her tongue, I didn't know how could she that and why she does that.

Suddenly she said.

"Light for only a few days and then the darkness... The history will repeat itself.
