Epilogue πΆπΆπΆ
SIX MONTHS LATER*WADE*
Taylor made it back to work after taking three months off to spend with Nathaniel. Samantha had also gotten Luke over his disdain over our relationship, and Samantha has cared for Nathaniel each day while we are at work. We have all bonded and have started going back to Luke's church.
Blaze was beyond ecstatic when Taylor had returned; the temp who had worked in her place while she was gone couldn't hack it. The office had turned into a shit show, to be honest, but we all somehow made it through. Connor, Jace, and I did most of the temp's work while she mainly just answered calls and forwarded them to us and filed paperwork as an average secretary would. Three months being stuck in the office and not doing any fieldwork had us all pent upβeven Jace, who spent most of, if not all, of his time in the office.
Blaze didn't win in the Mayor's election, but he came in close, losing by only a couple hundred votes, and that in turn brought in a whole slew of new clientele for our business over the last year. So having Taylor out for a month before having Nathaniel and then out for another three months was quite interesting.
Aaron has been laid out and continues to virtually live as a vegetable even though he has had surgeries on both his brain and heart. The amount of alcohol and drugs he had consumed fried his liver and kidneys as well. So Connor and I would be going with Taylor today to pull the plug. After a whole year of him not regaining consciousness, she knows it's time to let him go.
Our dad has had papers drawn up for Aaron to sign away his rights to Mark so that I could adopt him this whole time. But now, it looks as if we won't need to go through those hoops any longer. We have all sat down with Mark and a child psychologist to let him know about Aaron and that I would become his dad. Mark wasn't upset about losing his father and is excited about me becoming his dad. For the time being, Connor is known as Uncle C. Which in normal circumstances, that's what he would be considered anyhow, and Connor doesn't mind having that label either, even though Mark is just as much his as he is mine.
Mark still spends every other weekend at Luke and Samantha's, and we take Nathaniel along with us on our date nights. Now that he is six months old, he sleeps in his room and peacefully sleeps through the night. Connor wakes up with him in the mornings and gets him ready while I help with Mark, and somehow, we get everyone to school, daycare, and work on time. Taylor was right. It's good that she, Connor, and I are all in this together.
Now that Nathaniel is six months old, I've given Connor more alone time with Taylor, and we are hopeful that she will become pregnant soon. Taylor desperately wants a girl, so we have been jumping through hoops in the hopes of making that happen for her. We would need to convert the office into a bedroom which won't be hard considering we all build homes for a living.
"Alright, baby, are you ready for this? I know it must be hard," I said as Taylor, Connor, and I walked through the sliding doors of the hospital.
"Honestly, I should have done it before now. I've had a whole year to come to terms that he wasn't going to wake up. Now that his kidneys and liver are shutting down, there is no point in keeping him alive. He was horrible to me, to Mark, and to y'all, but he doesn't deserve to be kept alive like that. We've gotten our justice; however, I wish he had woken up so he could pay for all the things he has done. In a way, though, he is paying for it with his life, so..." Taylor trailed off as she got lost in thought.
"It's alright, babe; we are here, and we will never leave you or hurt you in any way as Aaron did. You are doing the right thing, and this is not your fault. You never did anything wrong; Aaron did this to himself," Connor said as he lifted Taylors chin and cleared the tears from her cheek. Taylor nodded in agreement to what Connor said, and we made our way to Aaron's room.
The doctor explained to us the process of what they would be doing, saying that sometimes it takes a while before the patient may take his last breath and then began removing all of the tubes and wiring from Aaron's body. It only took five minutes for the heart monitor to show that Aaron's heart had flatlined.
TAYLOR*
I looked around, surprised at the hundreds of people who had shown up for Aaron's memorial service. He once was a good man that people looked up to, though. He wasn't always bad, he like many, lost his way. Several people got up and talked about the good things he did while he worked in the precinct and the many good things he did as mayor. I had had him cremated but had his ashes buried in a plot alongside his parents and brothers and sisters. Mark hadn't wanted to come, so he had stayed with Nathaniel and Wade while Connor had come with me.
"Thank you for coming with me, dear. I don't think I would have been able to make it through all of this alone," I said as Connor climbed into the SUV after the service was over.
Connor reached up and cupped my cheeks between his hands, and bent down to kiss me. "I love you, and there is nothing I wouldn't do for you. You will never be lonely and left to deal with things alone ever again,"
"I love you too, so much so that I'm late," Connor looked at me with confusion.
"Late for what? I didn't think we had anything else going on today. We took off work, and I thought we were going home," Connor said as he started the car.
"Not that kind of late, silly. We need to go by the pharmacy on the way home; I'm a week late on getting my period. We are most likely pregnant," Connor's eyes went wide, and he grinned widely.
Connor and I have been working towards this point for two months now. I had my period last month, if you want to call it that. It had only lasted two days and was very light. I have probably been pregnant this whole time, but I haven't minded at all the trying for a baby process. I just inwardly hope that it's the baby girl I have been dreaming about having. Please don't get me wrong, boys are great, but I have two now, plus two husbands. I've seen all the fun Lyra, Vega, and Kaysen have shopping for and dressing up their girls, also the crazy cute things they do with their hair. Yes, God, please give me a baby girl this time.
"To the pharmacy, it is then. Hopefully, we will have something to bring some happiness to this day, and we can all go out for a celebration dinner tonight at Mr. Gatti's. Maybe we could do that anyway for Mark,"
"Sounds like a plan to me; I can't wait to find out. I'm sure that I am, though. I have been feeling a little nauseous here lately," Connor grinned and took off towards the nearest United.
CONNOR*
I'm so excited that Taylor may be pregnant that I can't get this massive smile off of my face. We were all a bit sad when she had gotten her period last month. I couldn't wait to see her belly grow as my baby grew inside her.
I went in with Taylor and paid for the home pregnancy test and prayed the rest of the way home that she was indeed pregnant. I also prayed that the baby would be a girl. Our family would be complete then, having two boys and a girl; it would also be somewhat ironic. She would have us all wrapped around her tiny fingers, more so than the boys already do; our little princess.
My fear of being a good father went out the window after saving Mark from Aaron. Something changed in me after that moment, and Mark and I have been almost inseparable since. I wouldn't have it any other way. I love being a father, even though in a realistic since I'm Nathaniel and Mark's uncle. Now I would be able to hold the father title; I couldn't be happier.
We arrived home, and Taylor went to take the test after hugging and checking on Mark and Nathaniel. Like Wade had done, I paced around the room while waiting for Taylor to come out with the test. Taylor came out a few minutes later, grinning ear to ear, and handed me the test. Pregnant flashed on screen along with a 3+ showing she was over three weeks pregnant. I picked her up, so she straddled my hips and carried her to the bed. I had told Wade what was up, so he knew to keep the boys in the living room, and I had shut and locked the bedroom door.
"Be as quiet as you can; we will need to make this quick," I said as I pushed Taylor's dress up and drug her panties down, throwing them to the floor.
Taylor climbed up on all fours and stuck her pussy out in the air. It's incredible how tight her pussy is after having a baby, it glistened with her arousal, and I couldn't wait to be inside of her. I drug my pants and boxers down quickly, and my cock sprung out towards her. I got a quick taste of her before grabbing ahold of her hips and diving my cock balls deep into her tight pussy; which clung to my cock perfectly as always. I fisted her hair into my hand and brought her up against my cheat as I thrust my cock relentlessly inside of her. My other hand grasped her hip as the other grasped her throat, and I sucked love bites to her neck.
She moaned and bounced on my cock as I brought us both to climax. "I love you, babe, always and forever. I've never been so happy in my life,"
We got cleaned up quickly and went back out to Wade, Nathaniel, and Mark. It was now time to get everyone ready to go to Mr. Gatti's so we could all celebrate.
***ONE YEAR LATER***
I looked at Taylor as she picked up our four-month-old daughter Kristalyn and a tear ran down my cheeks. Kristalyn is the spitting image of Taylor in baby form. Same Auburn hair and eyes; when Kristalyn gets older, they would look like twins. Our family is now complete, and I've never felt so alive.
