I Don't Want to Dance
What the hell is going on? I mean, what in the actual hell is happening? I always thought two boys fighting over me would be a dream come true, but I want to run away to Canada and never look back when it is happening for real. I mean, Aaron said it himself. I was a terrible dancer. So why are they both so obsessed over dancing with me? I don't understand.
I saw Liliana by the snack bar and strode over to her.
"You crazy hoe, did you put him up to this?" I grabbed her hand and yanked her towards me to get her attention.
"What are you talking about?" Liliana looked at me quizzically.
"I am talking about Jake. He was trying to force me to dance with him just now," I said. I was flustered from running away from the bad boy duo.
"Huh? Really? Why would he want to dance with you? He is my date," Liliana said.
"THAT'S WHAT I AM SAYING!" I yelled at her face. "Control your boy, lady," I said.
"Jesus Jane, just calm down. I just went to talk to some of my friends, and when I came back, he was gone. So he was over there trying to dance with you, huh?" Liliana said and looked at me curiously.
"Yes, and I need you to make him go away. Use your beauty to lure him away from me," I sighed.
"I don't believe this," Liliana shook her head. "What do they see in you? First Aaron, now Jake? You couldn't be satisfied with one brother now you have to have both?" she said angrily.
"What are you saying! I never planned any of this. Aaron asked me out. And Jake..." I paused. "I am sure Jake is just trying to mess with me to make my life miserable. For some reason, he loves bullying me. Ever since we met, he wouldn't leave me alone," I pouted. "Please help me. You are my sister, goddammit!"
"Fine, I'll try," Liliana said and sighed. "Just go back to your stupid dance with Aaron."
I took a deep breath and headed back to the spot where I left the boys. Weirdly enough, they are still standing there. Most likely having a glaring contest.
"Hey, I am back. Oh look, the slow song is over, so now I don't have to dance with either of you. Problem solved," I announced.
Aaron's eyes softened when he saw me. "I am sorry about my asshole brother. He doesn't take the hint and doesn't go away when he needs to," he said.
Jake reached out and grabbed my hand again. "I am not letting you get away yet. You are dancing with me, slow song or not," he said. He almost looked like a stubborn kid who is throwing a tantrum in a store to get the toy he wants. Is that what I am to him? A toy to play with?
Liliana showed up right then. "How about you dance with your date instead, Jake?" she cooed.
"Forget it, Liliana. You made it clear that you weren't interested in me before. I know you only wanted to come to the dance together to save your reputation so you can drop the whole cutesy act and leave me the fuck alone," Jake said and glared at her.
Ouch! Sis is getting rejected by the biggest man whore of our high school despite being extremely beautiful. That says something about her character.
Liliana looked like she got slapped in the face and stepped back. "Fuck you, Jake! No one wants to be with a jerk like you anyway!" she cried and stomped away.
"Well, that was pretty dramatic, Jake. But I am here with Aaron, so please kindly leave us alone," I said. I've had enough of him at this point.
Jake stared at me intently. "This isn't over," he said in a low voice that sounded almost menacing. I am DOOMED.
Jake didn't bother us for the rest of the night. I saw him flirting with some blondes by the chocolate fountain. Good riddance. Aaron and I danced for a few songs then he drove me back home. I went to sleep feeling happy.
The next day at school, I found a note stuck inside my locker.
Meet me at our usual place by the fence after school, or I will drag your ass out there myself.
Love Jake.
The note said.
Son of a bitch...what does he want now?
I didn't have the galls to ignore his request, so I complied like a good girl. I went to see him after school.
He was leaned against the fence, smoking like a chimney. He dropped the cigarette as soon as he saw me approaching. I guess he remembered my asthma issue.
"I am here. What do you want, Jake?" I sighed.
He stepped towards me and gripped my hand so tightly it almost hurt.
"I didn't appreciate the way you treated me last night, Janey," he said and looked at me coldly.
"The way I treated you? You were trying to force me to dance with you, and I didn't want to. I don't have to do everything you ask me to, you know." I said.
"What, you are a brave girl all of a sudden just because you are going out with my brother now, is that it? You think you can defy me, and there will be no consequences?" he sneered.
"You can't control me, Jake. You mean nothing to me. You aren't even my friend. I want you to leave me alone because you are just a bully!" I exclaimed. I am honestly getting tired of his attitude.
He grabbed my shoulder all of a sudden and pushed me against the fence, caging me in his arms so I can't get away. He then grabbed my chin with his thumb and lifted my face up, forcing me to look him in the eyes. He leaned closer. His lips were so close to my mouth that I thought he was going to kiss me, but he whispered in my ears instead.
"I'll never leave you alone, Janey. You are mine to play with," he said.
"I am not your toy," I said and tried to sound confident, but my voice came out meek and quiet.
"We'll see about that," he said. His voice was cold and harsh. I shivered. This was the Jake I was familiar with, but he hadn't been this mean to me the last couple of days, so I was not used to him acting evil.
He picked up a lock of my hair and ran his fingers through it. "About last night, since you decided to piss me off, get ready for your punishment," he smirked.
"P...punishment? What punishment?" I stammered.
"You just wait and see," he said.
"I'll tell Aaron. He would..." I tried it.
"You think I am scared of Aaron? He is my brother. I can handle him. Besides, he can't protect you at school since he doesn't go here anymore. You get to be stuck with me right here, eight hours a day, so are you sure it's a good idea to get him involved and piss me off even more?" He asked and grinned.
Shit, he was right. Aaron can't save me from him when I am at school.
"I...I am leaving.." I said and pushed him off of me.
"Sure, no problem. Bye Janey. Can't wait to see you tomorrow," he gave me an evil smirk. That bastard.
