Chapter 12

For the past one week, Gwen had done nothing but worry about the fact that she will be meeting other race rulers. She thought that the primordials might hurt her but this time she was sure that the new sets of people she will meet will have a hatred for her based on the fact that she is with the vampires. She had always heard of a thin level of understanding that each race had for each other and that is saying a lot because it was before this incidents started.

She knew that each person that will be have some sort of disagreement with some body in another race and that might descend into fight quickly . She had brought up the issue of staying behind to Vince but he had refused, he plainly told her no and when she had asked him why he had said that he didn't know how long the meeting would take and if he keeps on disappearing, the fragile truce they have in place will be broken and he doesn't want that to happen.

Gwen knew that she couldn't complain about again since she will just be disturbing so she kept quiet and packed for a little holiday and when the day for them to leave finally came she was so sick of all the worrying that she had been doing that she wanted nothing more than to get it over with since she was already tired of being on edge.

" are you sure that you want to carry the first mate of any of the primordials to this meeting. " Matthew asked Vince who was talking with Jake

" why. " Vince asked as he looked at Matthew.

" imagine the meeting quickly descended into chaos and they wanted to hurt us. The best way for that to happen is for them to go after Gwen and you know that they will do just that. " Matthew explains.

" do they have mind shields. " Gwen asked.

" the werewolves don't and some of the witches do. " Elijah answered.

" then don't worry, I can hold my ground before you all come to rescue me. " Gwen said.

" you have been practicing. " Vince asked.

" yes. " Gwen said with a smile.

" how " Vince asked with his brows wrinkled in confusion.

" Jessica helped me on it. You were busy and I was becoming bored. She offered and I accepted. " Gwen shrugged.

" thank you sister. " Vince tells his sister who smiled at him then waved her hand dismissively.

" don't mention. "

" if you were human I would think that you would blush. " Jake tells her with a laugh before he doubled over with a grunt.

When Gwen look at Jessica, she was still glaring at Jake. " psychic punch. You will learn how to do it soon. " Jessica offers.

" am sorry. " Jake said as he straightens. " but you should have stayed in my side. Must you always side your biological brother. "

" yes because he is always right. "

" thank. You sister. You are good for my ego. " Vince tells his sister.

" still what about my baker. " Jake asks stamping his foot on the ground.

" don't worry, we will find his killer and until then you behave. "Jessica said.

" and she doesn't mean like a child. " Courtney added as Jake glared at her.

" why you.... " Jake started.

" gather up, let's start going. " Vince said with a raised voice as they all moved towards him. Vince puts Gwen in his front as other primordials stopped near Vince and formed a circle around their belongings as they held on to each other.

They all arrived in a house with desert surrounding the house.

" is this where we will be staying. "Gwen asks as they all started to take their bags from the pile.

"yes. Don't like it princess. " Caleb asked.

" what is with the nick name. " Vince asked with his hand folded across his chest.

" nothing. Gosh, if you keep acting this protective of her. You will suffocate her. " Caleb said as Vince glared at him.

" stop frowning, you might get wrinkles. " Gwen said as she used her hand to smooth the skin in between Vince eyes. Then she kissed his lips as he grew her to him.

" he called you a princess. " Vince said.

" and that is what I am. " Gwen replies.

" how. "

" well, you see when you get married or mated to royalty, that is what you are. I would have been queen but somebody refused to admit that he is the leader. " Gwen said.

" you are going to keep hounding me on this until I accept. " Vince deduced as Gwen grinned at him.

" see, you are smart. " Gwen said as Caleb who was still within hearing range try to smother his laughter. Vince glared at him until Gwen hit him.

" no more frowning. "

" that was a glare. " Vince corrected.

" anything that make your face wrinkle is a frown. " Gwen added as Vince breathes with ease.

" fine. " Vince said as Gwen smiled at him.

" Gwen, come on. Let's go chose our rooms together. " Jessica said as she pulls Gwen out of her brother hand.

" wait what. " Vince said as he held on to his mate before his sister leave the room with his mate in tow.

" our rooms. " Jessica said as if that will explain the whole situation to Vince.

" she is staying with me. " Vince clarifys.

" so, she can have an extra room close to my room so that she can escape you and come to me when you piss her off. " Jessica said.

" you know that we are mates right, I won't annoy her that much. "

" please brother, you annoy everybody that much. " Jessica rolled her eyes at him. " now let go of her hand and I will return her back to you when we are done with our girls lemonades. "

" what I am not loaning her to you for that amount of time. " Vince said as the room went quiet.

" did you just say, you are loaning me out. " Gwen asked Vince in a tone she had never used for him before. His sister made him angry and he talked without thinking and that had never happened to him before.

" Gwen. " Vince started.

" am I supposed to be your property. " Gwen asked and Vince kept his mouth shut not to further incriminate himself. He had a feeling that saying that you are mine and I am yours won't work well in this situation.

When Vince didn't answer her, she took his silentness as an affirmative answer. " Jessica, let's go chose rooms. I might stay there throughout this meeting. "

Vince opened his mouth but Gwen already turned away.

" I always wanted a mate but watching you and yours just now made me slap myself. I don't want one anymore if she gets to wrap your around her tiny little finger. " Caleb said as he clapped Vince on the shoulders and left.
