Chapter 16

Everybody in the room turned to face the newcomers who were huge, at least to Gwen. They were taller than Vincent and other primordials but where the primordials were lean, these new guys had bulging muscles. She would have been more attracted to them if they weren't looking at everybody in the room like they would rather kill them than enter the room fully and act like nothing is amiss, and that included her and she wasn't a fan of people who would kill her.

Gwen turned from the new lookers to Vince, hoping that he would look at her and tell her without words to go into their room and lock the door to prevent anybody from entering. She would normally be against being sent to her room like a child but now, she would gladly accept it. In fact, she wanted it.

To her greatest surprise she saw Vince rolling his eyes as if the newcomers anger was a child tantrums that he had to deal with. " yes Cole, you are right to come in late. Because if you had arrived just a few minutes earlier. You would have seen me being restrained by my group and think that I am being betrayed. " Vince said while the other primordials snickers at what Vince had said.

The color of a guy turned red in face as he looked like he would want nothing more than to rip Vince head off. A guy close to him spoke instead.

" Vincent, what happened. "

"the witches, thought it is their God given right to torture any creature that they don't know will be present for the meeting. " Vince explained.

" you brought an extra. " Cole boomed out and Gwen tried to press closer to Vince but everybody gaze went to her at her movement. Vince wrapped a hand around her waist and tucked her at his side.

" yes. You did too, your beta, third in command, your three best warriors and your successor. " Vince said as he raised an eyebrow at the alpha king who instead of looking bashful was looking as if he didn't know what Vince was talking about.

" what is the use of the guards. " Carson asked in an affronted manner.

" I don't trust you all. After all you have been attacking my people. " Cole said.

Vince went angry at that statement. He had enough and he would get his answers. He moved in a way that will keep the two leaders of the other two leading races in his eye sight.

" I would believe that if you admit to the fact that that you have been attacking mine too. " At their lost expressions, he knew all he needed to know. They were not involved in any of the plots but that doesn't mean that their people were not involve.

" don't say silly things. I have never been anywhere near your territories in recent times and how do we know that you are telling the truth. " Cole asked with a shrug. Hoping to see if the disattached expressions that the primordials wore will still remain in their faces. There is no better way to find out if Vince was lying. If there was no loss, they would try to hid their face after his comment and if there was any truth in what Vincent said. They would get angry. Although he underestimated the level of anger. When others primordials started to move towards him like they would want nothing more than to rip his limbs apart. He understood that he just made a big mistake.

" guys, if you do anything to them, you lost all chances of what you wanted to achieve by coming here. " the female who looks like she was keeping Vince restrained with a palm on his chest. That is impossible to do especially if Vincent wanted to leave her hold. Unless she is a witch and Cole knew that regardless of alliance or not. Vincent will not let her put her hands anywhere close to his skin.

" he just doubted Vince word as if Vince is nothing and beneath him. Vince is the leader of the vampires for a reason and we refuse to let anybody undermine his ruling. " Courtney said as her face went cold. The mask she usually wore when she went to hunt was now on her face and there was no mistaking her preys.

" I know but please, will you all just sit and talk this out. First there is no harm in trying and second, need I remind you that you guys didn't believe that their kingdoms was also attacked. " Gwen pleaded hoping that they will see reason with her.

One thing, it appears that primordials cannot stand was insult especially when the issue was one close to their hearts and the vampires community is their pride, work and sweat of the primordials and someone was threatening it and it appears like that same someone was doubting their word about the devastation that has happened.

"we didn't believe but we had the decency not to mention our suspicions. " Elijah said

" and put the wording in a way that insult the credibility of the leader of the primordials race. " Caleb added

Gwen sighs, she did her best. She couldn't get in the way of the primordials and she wouldn't do it.

When Cole saw that the girl had given up, he decided that the way to stop the unwarranted war that will certainly happen now was to apologize. When his people do go to war, it is going to be to protect themselves or something that meant more not something as silly as posturing between males and him not apologizing. " I am sorry. " he gritted out as the room froze.

Vince stared at Cole in shock although he hid his initial expression and place the one of indifference on his face. He studies Cole stance which was one braced on meeting any adversary head on. In this case, the adversary are people reaction to his apology after all it was well known that as alpha, Cole cannot show weakness or the fact that he was wrong. Yet he just did one of those. Vince nodded at the man. " accepted. "

The primordials looked angry before they succeeded in smoothing their expressions.

" anyway, who is the young extra lady you brought. " the only other man that came with the werewolves that has spoken before spoke again. It was clear to everyone present that he did it to remove people focus in his alpha.

"she is Vince mate. " Carson replied as the werewolves expressions all morphs to shock.

" what, there is no law that states that I cannot have a natural mate for those of you that is thinking that I probably wanted a mate so that I can get an heir. " Vince said irritated.

The wolves cleared their throats.

" why don't you guys settle in so that all of you can regain strength and fight for a more important topic. " Gwen said as they looked at her and chuckled. " what. "

" honey, you are already behaving like a mate to a power figure... Which is a good thing. " Jessica assures quickly.

" fine, let's go unpack. Then rest so that we can have this meeting with as little anger as possible. " the alpha said as the beta snorted.

" this is the leaders of the three most important races in earth. Any time we meet, it is already predestined that the meeting will end sadly.
