Chapter 36

"I don't care if you will listen to me sitting down or standing up but I will say what I want to say. And I expect you to be all ears." she said her tone not showing any emotion.

Blake pulled out a chair from the kitchen and placed it a few feet across her. He had a bleak expression. He crossed his arms on his chest. He nodded as he stared at her and she took that as a go signal.

"You tried a lot of things to get inside my panty. Fortunately or unfortunately, after my aunt saw us in a mortifying position, you grabbed the chance so you can finally fuck me. I will be a liar if I'll say that I don't enjoy sex with you. All I am saying is I put up with all your shit all this time! In this relationship, if this is really a relationship, you almost have the say. I try to do all your demands and I tolerated your being violent due to your jealousy. I made an effort to be a good girlfriend to you but how about you? Did you make even a small effort? I don't think I need to enumerate what you are supposed to be doing as my man. I don't know why you are the way you are because we don't really talk. All we do is fuck! I don’t know if someone fucked with you or is that your nature? It was you who said that you will give me the commitment I want .Did you really mean that? As far as I know I haven’t felt you committed yourself to me but sadly I did. I really like to give us a chance because I wanted to include it in the changes I want in myself and my life. I desired being in a serious relationship with a man who unfortunately has an excess baggage. I gave my best to be a submissive girlfriend which is so unlikely of me to do. I gave you a chance to change too. You can't be fucking half of the women in this city or in any other part of the country all your life. I thought this so called relationship will both make us better people. It could make us grow together. But I guess I am wrong. Don't worry, I won't force you to give me the commitment you promised. I’ve accepted that you are not really ready for it. FYI I no longer want it! Fuck anyone you want. I no longer care. Just leave me alone. Not unless you are into rape, you can never have me again." she said and stood up to get her bag and walked out of his unit.

Blake was too stunned to react. Heather had left his unit for a few minutes already but he was still seated on the chair. What she said slapped him on the face. Hard. She was furious but she handled everything with class. She didn’t yell or threw anything at him or hit him. She was not only beautiful. She was rare and incredible. And he was an asshole, a jerk, a douchbag, just like what she had called him before. He violently stood up which made the chair overturn. He got it and angrily threw it to the other side of the living room. It hit the side table. The glass shattered and all the stuff on top of it flew in the air. He didn’t care if everything got broken. He just wanted to release his rage.

"BULLSHIT!"

Everything he held he threw against the wall.

You are mine sweetheart! I will get you back! He promised himself.

He kicked the kitchen table repeatedly as he cursed.

"Stacey?" Heather happily asked.

"Hi! How have you been? We're back in the country. We came back last night.” Her half sister sounded happy too.

She felt happy but at the same time sad. She wanted to see her right now because she was feeling emotional. The last time they met she was very rude to her and Nick got angry. That was the time Nick brought Stacey to his home. She shook her head to try to erase the past.

"T-That's good. " She said and her voice sounded really sad.

"Heather? Is something wrong?".

"N-No. Nothing." she said. She heard Stacey sighed.

"I feel something is up. I talked to Eve a couple of days ago. We really need to talk. I will ask someone to pick you up. Stay here for a couple of days so we could make up for lost time. It is going to be a perfect timing because Nick and his family are coming over. We will have a small party. I will introduce you to them.” Her sister suggested and she could sense that she was smiling.

She couldn’t help smiling too. “ I can come there myself. Just give me directions.”

They could finally have the catching up and bonding they needed. She felt excited to meet her sister and her husband’s family. She would see their daughter Amara for the first time too.

She couldn’t forget her meeting with Alicia. She asked if she was Blake’s girlfriend but when she said no, the woman looked really surprised. But what she said next made her think. According to her Kristel, Blake’s ex looked so simple, timid and very modest. But after a while her true colors came out. She was actually very jealous and possessive. She made a lot of scenes at bars where Blake performed with his band. When Blake tried to stop her from being violent she would hit him wherever her fists could reach. In the end he just decided to quit the band.

"Blake is so tall and hunky and if he wanted to he could have manhandled Kristel but he didn’t. She was a real bitch. He is better off without her. I like you Heather. I hope you will be a couple. I feel there is something special between you. Blake had never asked any favor from me until now. He said he didn’t want you to have a difficult time at work since his former fling’s mother is your boss.”

So he cared about her. He wanted to save her from Vanessa’s claws. But she felt hurt too. From what Alicia said, he loved Kristel deeply. Probably until now he still loved her. He always manhandled her but he was very patient with Kristel. And most importantly, he had a serious relationship with her. While she on the other hand was just his passing fancy. It was a good thing that she told him that she wanted out instead of him dropping her like a hot potato once he got tired of her. Although she was really curious why he and his ex broke up, she didn't have the guts to ask Alicia. But one thing was for sure. his feelings for Kristel and her were polar opposites. He loved his ex . He lusted after her.

"To hell with them!" She angrily told herself.

She would move on and she should stop thinking about them. What was important was she was free again.

Nick's family welcomed her with open arms. She and her sister were very happy. The family couldn’t stop throwing them compliments. They even played matchmakers because they said James, the brother of Nick's sister-in-law and her looked good together. He got her number and she had no choice but to give it to him.

"Well you are lucky my sister doesn't have a boyfriend James." Stacey said with a wide smile.

James grinned. “Cool. “ His eyes were on her. He really looked pleased to hear that.

“So Heather can we go out soon? We can do bar-hopping.”

She just nodded with a sweet smile.

“Great! Let’s set a date. I am looking forward to getting to know you more .”

Her sister was just listening to them but she looked really glad. James had to leave them for a while when his sister Vivien, Nick’s sister-in-law called him. He excused himself.

"Wow James really likes you.” Stacey whispered to her.

They decided to get some sweets. She just smiled at her while putting some brownies on her plate.

"Just enjoy yourself. Go out with others. You are gorgeous. You will meet a lot of nice guys. Come on. I will introduce you to Nick’s cousins. But only the female ones. We don’t want James to get jealous. Look he can’t take his eyes off you.” Stacey said with a grin. “ But remember after the party we will talk.” She added.

She knew her sister wanted to talk about Blake. She just nodded. She felt that finally she would learn the reason of their break-up. She said she wanted to stop thinking about them but she was still very curious. She sighed. She was lucky that she could enjoy herself tonight. Her sex-appeal wasn’t waning. She had a new admirer again. She would definitely think about meeting other guys as Stacey suggested..

"It's raining men.." Stacey sang and they both giggled before going back to the party.

“That’s enough dude! You still have a number later!” Tom tried to stop Blake from drinking more.

“Fuck! I messed up big time!" Blake hissed after gulping some beer.

“What’s happening here?” Came Eve’s voice. "

Tom stood up before saying, “Talk to your cousin Eve. We don’t want him making mistakes on the stage later.” He shook his head before leaving.

Eve sulkily sat down across from Blake. .She counted the empty beer bottles. She sighed heavily. Her cousin had seven bottles already.

" If I am not leaving in a while I will just let you drink but I have to go and you need to be sober. Not only because you are playing later but because you will be in charge of the bar. I don’t need to ask why you are drowning yourself in alcohol though.” She said and called a passing waiter and asked him to get a cup of black coffee.

“Where are you going?” He asked with a heavy frown."

"At Nick and Stacey’s house. They have a welcome home party. They got back last night.” She moved the other beer bottles away from him and called another waiter to take them. “I promised Stacey that I am going. Don’t worry I will say hi to Heather for you. Stacey said she’s there."

Blake straightened. "What is she doing there?" he asked.

Eve snapped her fingers in front of him as if to wake him up. "Hello cuzz? Have you forgotten that they are sisters and they have fixed their relationship already? They want to have a bonding time so that’s why Heather is there of course." She rolled her eyes.

Blake thought that maybe Stacey had told Heather about him and Kristel but he didn’t care. But then he remembered what Eve said before that Heather used to have the hots for Nick, Stacey’s husband. That one he didn’t like at all His lips formed a thin line .

"They are waiting for me so I have to go. Stop drinking. Whatever you had with Heather forget it. This is best for both of you. Move on cuzz! It’s not meant to be. Stacey said that they are doing a little bit of matchmaking and they are introducing Heather to some men at the party. I think that’s good. She is better of with someone…” She was startled when Blake furiously cursed.

“ I am coming with you!” he said angrily.
