Chapter 40
"We will just talk and don’t expect anything else okay?” Heather said in a cold voice.
The smile on Blake’s face disappeared and he just said okay. At least I can see her. He consoled himself.

Heather was sitting on the back of the car. Nick was driving and Stacey was on the shotgun seat.
"Stacey, I just texted Blake. He is coming to see me because I want to talk to him. Don’t worry I am not going back to him. We will just talk.” She reassured her.
Her sister turned her head to look at her. She had a frown on her lovely face. "Are you sure?" She was worried that Heather would give in easily to Blake since she loved him. The last thing she wanted was for her to be hurt again.
"I promise.” Heather replied.
"You should give him a little hard time before you go back to him. Let him make a lot of effort first. He should know how lucky he is and he should learn how to value you.”
"Sounds a little familiar honey. I remember when you had given me hard time as a punishment." Nick said with a grin.
Stacey rolled her eyes. “You are so like Blake! You want everything to be instant!” she said with a sigh.
Heather smiled and shook her head. "We are really sisters." she joked.
"Well to be honest, you are both so hot so we don’t want to let you go. Blake didn’t know what hit him! Poor guy!” Nick chuckled.
“Duh? That is not the reason! You and Blake are the same kind! You both do womanizer’s moves to get females!” Stacey said with a pout.
"I don't know with Blake, but when I set my eyes on you, I told myself I didn’t want anyone else. You got me hook, line and sinker.” He took his wife’s hand and kissed it with his eyes on the road.
Heather bit her bottom lip. She didn’t know what to say. She was not sure if Blake felt the same towards her.
"Hey don’t take what I said seriously. I am sure Blake feels the same. Don’t give him a hard time him or he might beat up every man around you.” He joked and winked at her through the rearview mirror.
She just stuck out her tongue at him. Now the memory of what she did before to make him notice her made her smile. She thought she was in love with him. Now they treat each other like real siblings. Nick was like an older brother to her. He was very nice to her and really loved her sister. She just wished that someday she would be with someone who would also love her the way her brother-in-law loved her sister.
“By the way honey do you know that the tables have turned? In the past, you were so jealous of Blake but Eve called and told me Blake is so jealous of you.” Stacey said with a light laugh.
"What? Why is he jealous of me?" He asked sounding puzzled.
"Because he knows that Heather liked you a lot before.” Stacey shook her head.
Heather sighed heavily with what her sister just said.
Nick on one hand beamed. "Hmm...maybe it's time to get a little revenge."
"What do you mean honey?"
"I need your approval honey. Maybe a little jealousy will not hurt Blake." he said.
Heather’s eyes widened while Stacey nodded with a big smile.

They were now in the bar. Billy and Nick used to hang out here a lot before Nick met her sister. Billy was there already. He was with a woman named Krisna. There was another couple too. Nick and Stacey went to the dance floor and she was left with the two female while the two men went to the bartender to request for some special drink. They were all nice so she felt at ease.
Blake just got inside the bar. He saw Heather right away though the place was a little packed. It seemed like an energy was sucking him to come to her.. She was talking to a woman and her right profile was the only one visible to him. He slowly walked to their direction
"Sweetheart." He called her.
She turned and their eyes met. They just stared at each other for several seconds. The woman she was with cleared her throat. Heather broke the stare.
"Blake, this is Krisna. Billy’s girlfriend. You have seen Billy before right? He’s Nick’s best friend do you remember? Krisna this is Blake.”
He extended his right hand to Krisna and Heather noticed what he had in his left hand.
"Nice to meet you Krisna. Can I borrow Heather for a while?”
"Sure. Please bring her back in one piece soon okay?” The woman said with a big smile.
She smiled at Krisna as Blake took hold of her hand. He led her outside. They headed to the coffee shop right across from the bar.
"Do you want us to talk here sweetheart or do you want to go somewhere else? Maybe we can have dinner?” He suggested.
“Let’s talk here. Stacey will look for me soon."
He just nodded and handed her what he had in his left hand. For you sweetheart." He said while smiling.
She thought they were flowers. They were expensive chocolates arranged like a bouquet. She hid a smile as they walked to the café. Seemed like he was really making an effort.
A waiter took there order and when he was gone, "I miss you a lot sweetheart." Blake said hoarsely as he drank in her loveliness with his eyes..
She felt that he wanted to get her hand but he was controlling himself since she might get angry. She could also sense that he approved of what she was wearing. She was in a simple sleeveless black top and black jeans but she still looked sexy without showing any cleavage.
Blake had to agree with Eve. He had to accept the fact that Heather was lovely and he should considered himself lucky.
Heather sighed. "I know everything about you and your ex." she said.
He leaned on his chair. He crossed his arms on his chest. He was poker-faced.
"Maybe now I understand you more." She added. He narrowed his eyes but still didn’t say anything. " But I am still not getting back with you.”
She saw him clenched his jaw. "If you want me back, you have to do some things."
He cocked one eyebrow. "I will woo you." He finally said.
"That’s not enough!" she said a little sharply.
His lips formed a thin line. The waiter came with their order so she stopped what she was about to add. Immediately after the server left, she said. “ Stop being to damn possessive!” He wasn’t showing any emotions but his eyes glinted. "Stop being violent! At this point, you are just my suitor and I have the freedom to get to know other people.”
He cursed through gritted teeth which made her narrow her eyes. She was about to say something but bit her tongue. .He leaned forward on the table. He was gritting his teeth. "I am going to give you flowers or chocolates regularly and ask you out for dates just like what suitors do so I can make it up to you..But we both know that you are mine. I will try to control my temper and jealousy but I am not promising anything. Read my lips sweetheart, no one else can woo you!" he said in a clipped tone.
She almost rolled her eyes. Old habits die hard. Her only consolation was he was a little discreet this time.
"Were you listening? I just told you that if you want me back you have to do some things. Things which I will tell you to do or not to do! Look I am not your ex okay? I am not a cheater. I may have been into light flirting before.." " he cut her by cursing again. "Let me finish! She hissed. "I was a flirt before but when we were together I changed didn’t I? You are just so paranoid with my friendship with Kevin!” She raised her hand to stop him from saying anything when she sensed he was about to open his mouth” I just want you to control your jealousy and trust me more. Trust is important in any relationship, you know.”
"It has nothing to do with trust dammit! " He rasped.
"You are really annoying! Maybe it’s better if I go back to the bar! ”She was about to stand up but he stopped her by holding her hand.
"NO! Okay I’m sorry! We'll meet halfway. I won’t smack any assholes or be violent unless I have to."
"And what do you mean by that?" she asked.
"You’ll see!” He said in a clipped voice.
She shook her head in disbelief while he sighed then leaned back on the chair again.
"One more thing sweetheart, this time I will show you how important you are to me. Once you go back to me, I will really commit myself to you. Actually even before I was already committed to you. I didn’t have any other women. It was just you and it will stay that way. So please sweetheart, go back to me. “ he pleaded throatily.
"Not yet!" she said with a firm tone
He brushed his hair with his hand. He knew that she was serious. “Okay since this is all my fault I will wait. I will do my best to get you back. And one more thing sweetheart, I will introduce you to all my friends when we become a couple again. A real couple this time.” He released his clit-tingling smile and she stopped herself from gaping.
Then her phone started making a noise. She saw Stacey's name on the screen. She took the call. “Yes Stacey?”
Blake was looking at her intently as he sipped his coffee.
"Where are you?" Her sister asked.
"At the coffee shop across from the bar. I will be back soon.”
"Okay. Hurry up. Nick did something unbelievable."
"Huh? What is it?”
"I didn’t know he called James. Now he is here waiting for you.”
She bit her bottom lip and looked at Blake. Oh no! She thought.
He raised one of his brows and asked, "Is there a problem sweetheart?"
She didn't answer him. She lowered her eyes before responding to Stacey. "Oh okay. I am heading back now." she ended the call.
"Finish your coffee and cake then we’ll go back to the bar." Blake said.
"You can leave. I can go back there alone." She said trying to avoid his eyes. She took a sip of her coffee.
His brows furrowed. “No I’ll go with you. I want to talk to Stacey. I will tell her what my intentions are regarding you.”
"You can do that some other time.”
"Why do I have the feeling that you are hiding something from me?” His tone sounded doubtful and he looked a little pissed.
"You are overthinking." she tried to sound casual though she was beginning to get jittery. She didn’t know how he would react when he sees James. He might have promised that he would control himself...but…Blake was Blake. Can he change overnight? She asked herself.
"Heather?" a man suddenly called her.
They both turned where the voice came from. She let out a soft moan She was wishing that the floor would swallow her when she heard Blake cursed under his breath.
James was in the café…
