Tahti looked out through the car window at the familiar road ahead, a place she hadn't gone through in a while. Nothing had changed, the beautiful coastside still looked the same and so did the beach.
"By the way, how long are you staying for?" Aunt Freya asked and she turned to see her auntie was focused on the road.
"About a week?" She replied and Auntie Freya turned to glance at her.
"That long?" She asked and Tahti frowned. "What? You don't want me to stay?"
"You're my little princess, silly. Why won't I want you around?" She asked and Tahti smiled, and frowned, a minute later on remembering something.
"That's right, don't tell mum I'm here, okay?" Her auntie turned to look at her, with an arched brow. "Are you involved in a crime?"
"It's not like that." She laughed.
"Then, it's fine. You'll take care of all the household chores, that I've been putting off all this time."
Nothing else pleased her more than helping out her auntie, whenever she was around. or Her aunt's car finally screeched to a halt in front of her pottery shop, in while later and Tahti alighted the car, the cool breeze slapping her face and sending her dislodged hair, flying as she dragged in a breath, while holding the railings, which served as a partition for the road and the beach.
"This feels so good." Tahti said when she exhaled.
"The weather is so nice."
"It really is."
"By the way, I saw Josh Daniels at the market." Auntie Freya told her and she turned, surprised, he was back in town as well.
"Josh is here too?"
"Yup." Her auntie replied as she reached out to hold the railing. "Do you remember the time you were headed to L.A when you were little? The time when the kids came to see you off but Josh just didn't come?"
"I remember." She replied with a smile, recalling how upset she'd felt that day as her bestie hadn't come to bade her goodbye, when she was leaving for university.
"You were crying and whining about it all the way there."
"No way. I didn't cry." She replied, whipping her head to look at the beach in embarrassment.
"You did. You two were so close."
"Yup. I liked him a lot, because he was my best friend."
"You liked them the most, out of all your friends."
"Come on, it wasn't like that, Auntie."
"Oh Tahti, it was like that." Auntie Freya said, and Tahti, knowing she couldn't win in an argument with her auntie, turned to walk to the trunk of the car, to fetch her things.
"I'll help you." Auntie Freya said as she carried her bags and she shook her head in protest.
"I can carry it."
"You're sure?" Her aunt asked, a worried look on her face and Tahti knew her aunt was looking out for the weight of her luggages. "Sure, I'm not fragile." She replied and turned to head for her aunt's pottery shop. "You're going to your workshop, right?"
"Yes." She replied, raising a hand to lower the trunk. "You should come down once you are done unpacking."
"I will." She replied and turned to head into the main house.
Her fingers played downwards, going through his body to where they were abruptly terminated by his trousers. She seductively raised her lashes to him, a mischievous smile playing on her lips and he shook his head.
"Not again."
"Come on. We still have time." April pleaded and Derek rolled his eyes with a sigh.
"Anyone can come in at anytime."
"But there's no one here for now." April protested and he sighed again.
"But, don't you think we should announce it now?" He asked and April raised her head
"Announce what?"
"The fact that we're dating."
"Why should we? It's not like we're getting married." She replied.
"Why should we hide it? I really want to let them know." Derek said.
April worked her fingers through her hair with a sigh and pretended to ponder on it for a moment.
"No. I don't want to." She firmly decided and he frowned.
"Why not?"
"They will just keep talking about us, if we tell them." She replied and there was a disappointed look on his face. It was obvious her news didn't go down well with him.
"Why don't we kiss some more instead of arguing?" She asked as she pulled herself closer and he turned to her.
"You're just trying to change the subject."
"No, I'm not."
"But, there is no one here..." Someone was saying and Derek sprang up his feet with April turning to look at the other side when Jasmine and Chris barged in. Their suspicious movement movements must have given them away as Jasmine frowned almost immediately.
"What are you two doing here?" She asked and April turned to her.
"We were just about to leave after discussing what to have for lunch. What are you doing here? Did you guys come here to make out?" "What? We have a platonic relationship, you know." Chris said.
"Whatever. I have something to ask." Jasmine paused to drop her hands on the head of the sofa. "I heard Andre and Miss Michelle were seen coming out of a motel together. Is that true?"
April shook her head at Jasmine's misinterpretation of the information. "It wasn't a motel. It was the house."
"What? They're living in the same house?" Jasmine blinked.
"Yes." She nodded.
"Then, they must be dating if they're living together."
"That's not possible." April said and Derek turned to her.
"Why isn't it possible?"
"It's because they don't suit each other and they are so different in nature." Jasmine. replied for her and April nodded in confirmation.
"Yeah, it's ridiculous too. I don't believe the rumours." Chris chipped in.
"They spend a lot of time together so they could have fallen for each other." Derek protested and April her tongue.
"Still yet, they're completely opposite in nature."
"That ends the discussion. Who's hungry?" April asked Jasmine raised her hand.
"Let's go have lunch, then." She said, rising before she turned to head out with Jasmine. "Wait for me." Chris said, following them before Derek walked out to join them, his mood ruined by the discussion.
