April's eyes were fixed on the busy chef on the TV screen in Derek's bedroom, later that afternoon, after lunch with Chris and Jasmine.
She's gotten horny, right after and had succeeded in seducing Derek to his apartment for a round of headbanging sex.
"Why isn't he showing his face if he's so handsome? I bet he'd get a lot of fans if he did."
"You didn't change the workshop's location because of money, right?" Derek asked as he walked out, shirtless from the bathroom. "You just want to see the chef, right?"
April picked up the remote control on the side stool, to turn off the TV. "No, I mean...that's one reason...It's not the only reason, though." April babbled as Derek sat by her bedside. "Don't misunderstand. I'm just his fan...I mean it." She added, when she raised her eyes to see he was looking like he didn't believe her.
"Let's have a go at it again." April said as she reached to pull him towards her, but a reluctant Derek remained unmoved.
"Come here.x" She said again, trying to pull him but he smiled at her futile efforts.
"Let's go outside today." He said.
"What?"
"We haven't gone on a proper date, since we started dating. Don't you feel bad about that?" He asked, and she shook her head as she tried to pull him again, when her phone rang.
He leaned forward, to look at the ID and she noticed his expression changed, when he'd seen who was calling.
"Who is it?" She asked, and when he didn't respond, she reached out to see it was DIMPLES 26, one of her numerous guy friends.
She rejected the call and returned the phone to the stool, before returning to the bed.
"Who is it?"
"Just some guy I know." She replied, and the expression on his face, didn't waver as she thought it would. "What's that look? I rejected the call."
"That's more strange. Why would a random guy call you?"
"How would I know?"
She shrugged and his frown deepened.
"Don't tell me, you're yet to delete that dating app?" He asked and April sighed as she pulled herself to sit up, with a groan.
"Gosh...can you please try to stop changing me? You're suffocating me."
He was taken aback. "I'm suffocating you?"
"Yeah. You're making a fuss over nothing."
"What do you think being in a relationship means?" He asked and she sighed again as she rested against the head of the bed. "What are you even dating me?"
"It's because I like you?"
"You like me?"
"Yeah."
"Not just having sex with me?"
"isn't that the same thing?" She replied and Derek couldn't believe his ears. "Gosh Derek, why is everything so complicated for you?"
"It's not complicated." He blurted. "To be honest, you haven't changed at all, since we started dating..."
"Hey, that's ridiculous, don't you think?" She asked, cutting him short. "Why am I the only one who has to change? Have you changed too? Since we started dating?"
He tore his eyes from her as she raked her fingers through her hair, before pushing aside the bedcovers to pick up her skirt.
Derek looked alarmed, when she hurriedly wore up her skirt, before she picked up her purse, which was a few inches to the bed.
"What are you doing?"
She straightened, after picking up her clothes, with an arched brow.
"I knew you'd be like this. You boring nerd."
Tahti stretched out her arms in front of the beach, later that afternoon and Josh was trying to set up something. She smiled as she felt the cold spray sting her eyes and her hair whip across her face. She'd missed this.
"It's so good to he here again." She started and turned to where Josh was.
"Hey."
His head went jerking up to the next minute. "Is it okay for us to hang out? I mean, ... don't you need to get ready to open up your QSR?"
"It's okay. Both the QSR and the guesthouse aren't opening yet. He replied and she smiled.
"That's okay, then... Can I help you with anything? I'm really good at cooking and cutting. You can use me as your assistant."
He smiled as he walked over to take her by the shoulders. "It's okay. I got everything handled, so all you need to do..." He replied as he started to lead her to one of the deck chairs. "...is to wait right here."
"Alright." She answered, knowing better than to protest.
Josh walked over to the trunk of the Jeep to get out a couple of boxes and Tahti was surprised, when he opened one of them to reveal several pieces of meat.
"You came here with meat?...What would you probably want to use them for?" She asked.
"Well, I figured it'd be nice to have a little picnic with you, just like the old times...Do you mind?" He asked and she shook her head. It'd been years she'd had one, anyway.
"This is really cool, you know... When did you prepare all this?" She asked, turning to look at the set of uncooked kebabs, he was starting to take out.
"Your aunt told me you were coming, so I prepared all this before your arrival."
"And what if I had turned down your request for a picnic?" She asked and he straightened, from where he was trying to arrange a few things.
"Then, I'd have sent them all to you."
She returned her eyes to look at the little feast. "Did you bring your camera? It'll be nice if we could film this."
"No, it's something I made for you...so you should be the only one to see it." He replied and Tahti couldn't help the grin, that crossed her face
"Woah...you're kinda good at saying sweet things. You must have had tons of girlfriends." She remarked, with a feel of cheesiness.
"I haven't."
"Really?" She asked, surprised. "You've only had a few?"
He walked over to open one of the containers, which had sauce in it. "I haven't dated at all."
Her jaw dropped. "You've never dated before?...Not even once?" She asked and he shrugged.
"So what?"
That was weird. It was almost impossible to find a man, who hadn't been in a relationship before, on the shores of the country.
"It's a little unexpected...You're popular, you have a good physique...You're also good-looking. So why haven't you had a girlfriend?"
He dropped to the deck chair, beside her. "Well, I guess...it's because I kept having feelings for someone who already had a boyfriend."
Tahti couldn't be more surprised. An unrequited love? In this time and era? This wasn't a drama, so why would he bother waiting for so long, for someone who's probably never love him back?
"What about you?" He suddenly asked and she turned to him
"Huh?"
"Have you....dated a lot?"
She tore her eyes off him, a sad smile crossing her lips on recalling her pathetic relationship with her ex boyfriend.
"No...I've only had one serious relationship."
"Had?" He asked as she nodded.
"Care to tell me about it?"
