Herley couldn't stop glaring at his third wheel, at the moment as she kept gushing over photos on her phone. He'd been so excited when Sol has accepted his request to have lunch with him, but hadn't expected Jennie to tag along too.
"Oh, I almost forgot. Let's go to his place, next time. I heard ita so popular." Jennie said, showing Sol a couple of pictures on her gallery, and Sol wore a shawl over her laps , to cover her exposed thighs.
"Where?"
"This one. I think it's not far from here." She replied and Herley cleared his throat, before the two girls turned to him.
"I reserved a table for two, I didn't know you'd be coming too, Jennie."
She dropped her phone and rewarded him, with an insecre scowl. "I've always wanted to eat here and I heard you guys were meeting here today, so how could I not come?"
She knew the reason he'd called Sol out, so was she trying to screw things up for him?
"Well...if you guys have something important to discuss, I'll leave you two alone..." Jennie said, with a pout which he found annoying.
"Is it important?" Sol asked and he turned to her.
"Well..." There was no way Sol would let Jennie leave, if he told her it was important.
"It's not important. I just wanted us to have a meal together."
A wicked grin tugged at the ends of Jennie's lips and he sighed.
"I'll pay, then." Sol said.
"No, it's my treat. I asked to eat with you, so I'll pay." He replied, before he turned to Jennie. "I'll pay for yours, too."
"Thanks, Herley." She replied and the smile on his lips faded almost immediately.
He'd get another chance to confess his feelings to Sol.
Tahti stirred awake at the rising of the sun, the following morning, not remembering the last time she's slept so well. Was it because of the comfy blankets or the alcohol she'd had before she'd retired to bed?
Whatever it was, Tahti was glad she'd accepted his invitation to taking her to the beach.
She was clutching a blanket to herself, by the time she opened the back door of the Jeep. The breeze from the chopping waves from the sea hit her as she was just about wrapping the blankets around her shoulders, when her eyes fell on a sleeping Josh, who was curled up on one of the deck chairs.
"Josh..."
She hurried over to cover him, with the blanket, feeling thankful as annoyed at the same time. He'd respected her privacy and allowed her to sleep in, but he could have slept at the driver's seat, instead of exposing himself to the cold.
He stirred awake and a smile crossed his lips on seeing her.
"Tahti, did you sleep well?" He asked and she wondered how stupid he could get. She was supposed to ask that question, since he'd slept out.
"Why did you give me the blankets, since you were sleeping outside?"
"It's okay." He replied and pulled away the blanket to wrap her with it. " It won't be nice, if you caught a cold."
How would she when she just came out? She wanted to ask him, compared to him who had slept out.
"Um...We should head back now...My auntie will probably be worried."
"Alright."
