Michelle kept tossing and rolling on her bed, unable to sleep because of what had happened earlier that morning. She'd been startled, when Andre's mother had dropped by that morning, and the puzzled look on her face told her she's been more startled to see a woman living with her son. However, Andre had ended up startling them both, when he'd announced her to be his girlfriend.
"Girlfriend?" His mother had asked and she was about to deny it, when he added the fact that he had told her to move in, because he liked her so much.
Michelle had expected his mother to yell at her hair out, but the mother gushed over her and pleaded with her to keep staying with him and he couldn't take care of himself well. Michelle smiled as she snuggled herself underneath her bed spread. She had to force herself to sleep.
"Let's play the Whisper game." April suggested and everyone cheered in agreement as everyone loved the game. It was about whispering a question to someone, who would openly reply the answer.
People who were curious to know the question, would have to down a cup of alcohol and most people liked the game because it involved a lot of drinking.
"I'll start first." April volunteered and leaned to whisper a question in Herley's ears. The answer came as fast as lightning.
"Jennie."
Everyone's eyes widened in surprise, wondering what the question could have possibly been.
"Really? Me?"
"Whoa, it's really unexpected. It's really shocking." April said and Jennie picked up a glass to empty its' contents.
"Hey, I can't wait to know what the question was." She said and walked over to April, who whispered.
"I asked who the ugliest one here was."
"What?" Jennie asked and turned to glare daggers at him as he rose, wearing a terrified look on his face.
"Come here, you crazy jerk..." She muttered, running over to collide with him before he could run into the house.
"They'll fall in love after squabbling like that." Jasmine said as the crew watched Jennie register playful fists into Herley's body.
"The answer to the question was really unexpected."
"I know, right?" April laughed and Tahti turned to look at Josh, who was seated beside her. "Are you uncomfortable?"
"No. It's fine." He smiled.
"What was the question?" Sol asked and April laughed.
"Who is the ugliest one here?"
"I'm not ugly." Jennie protested as she returned back to her seat, after hitting him the satisfaction.
"This game is so childish." Derek sighed and April turned to him.
"It's supposed to be childish."
"Alright." Herley panted as he returned to his seat.
"It's my turn now, right?" Jennie asked and turned to whisper a question in April's ears.
Derek raised his eyes as Jennie withdrew from asking April and a smile crossed her lips as she tucked her hair behind her ear.
"It's Josh."
Everyone's jaw dropped in surprised as their eyes moved from April to Josh.
"Really? I can't believe this." Jennie gasped and Tahti nudged Josh, who turned to her for a moment.
"What was the question?"
"Hey, it's so obvious. There's no use in drinking." Chris said, crossing his legs at the ankles.
Derek picked up his glass and everyone were surprised on seeing him down his last glass. "Derek, why would you want to know?"
"She's right, though. It's nothing, why would you drink?" April asked.
"I'm just curious." He replied and Jennie staggered over to lean down on his shoulder.
"I asked who was April's most ideal type among the guys seated here." She yelled out instead of whispering and Tahti gasped as she turned to Josh, who grinned. However, Derek's mood was unreadable, even after hearing the question.
"It's your turn now, Josh. Is there anything you would like to know?" Chris asked and Josh hesitated for a minute, turning to glance at Demir, who was looking at Tahti. A thought struck him and he leaned towards Tahti. "Who's the person who makes you smile the most out of all the people here?"
She chuckled as he slowly pulled back and she turned to him.
"You." She replied and her course mates cringed in excitement.
"What was the question?"
"Yeah. What was the question?" Jasmine repeated and she glanced at them before turning to Demir's eyes, which looked angry at the moment.
Tahti passed on her chance to ask you a question to Chris, who used the opportunity to ask Ramiel a question and Josh slipped out his phone, to send a 'I'm leaving. Bring everyone to the beach later.' text to Janine, whi nodded in approval.
"Excuse me." He whispered to Tahti, who looked surprised as she turned to see him rise.
"Where are you going?"
"Don't worry. I'll see you soon." He replied and headed out of the premises.
"Janine, would you like to ask a question?" Herley asked, after a while and she turned to him.
"Yeah. I'm sure there's something you want to know, right?" Ramiel asked and she nodded.
Tahti could barely stop her eyes, from widening in shock when Demir's head tilted towards Janine as she leaned to ask him a question.
He returned to sit properly and a smile flickered through Janine's face, as if she knew his answer to her question.
"Tahti." He replied as his eyes lifted to meet with hers, and from the corner of her eyes, Tahti saw the smile on Janine's face fade into a frown. Obviously, she hadn't been expecting his answer either.
The awkwardness felt mind numbing, April noticed as her eyes moved from Tahti to Demir and Janine choose to break the ice by picking up her glass, a move which April arch a brow, wondering why she choose to drink when she asked the question.
"Is she drinking out of jealousy or what?"
"I should drink for this too." Jasmine said, and picked up her glass.
"Me too." Jennie said, raising her bottle.
Sol raised a hand to stop her, but it seemed to be futile as Jennie emptied her cup.
Tahti was starting to fidget when the 'me too' started to increase and she avoided their eyes after they had gone to hear the questions from Janine.
There were gasps here and there, after they'd heard the question and Tahti gulped as she clenched her fist, wondering how she was going to entangle herself from the current situation when Derek helped her to do just that.
"We should end this game. It's getting to be a bore."
"Come on. Let's continue. It's so fun." A drunk Jennie rambled and Herley clicked his tongue as he turned to Sol.
"Sol, why does Jennie drink always act like she's tough. She always get drunk."
"She gets drunk faster, when she's outside." Sol defended and Jennie was about to pour herself another cup when Sol grabbed it from her.
"But I want to..."
"You've had enough already"
"You guys must have been besties for a long while. You basically know everything about each other well."
"We've been friends since middle school." She replied.
"By the way Sol, was Jennie popular in middle school? She says boys were lining up to date her." April asked and Jennie made to turn to her friend but April was quick to put a hand between them, so that there would be no side talks.
Sol smiled. "Jennie was one of the most prettiest girls in school."
Tahti found no place in the conversation but decided to stay anyway.
"Like seriously? Jennie just looks a bit cute but not pretty." April said, finding it difficult to believe.
"It's true. Guys always hit on her even when they knew she had a boyfriend." Sol confirmed and Jennie pushed April's hand from her.
"I told you, I was not lying. I was one of the prettiest girls in school." She rambled on and her course mates shook their head, while watching her.
"I think she's drunk."
"I'm not." She retorted, while staggering and Sol sighed, regretting she hadn't stopped her from drinking.
"Speaking of boyfriends, have you ever had one, Sol?" Herley asked and Sol made to answer him, when Jennie turned to him.
"Hey." She called and everyone's attention was focused on her as she hiccuped.
"Stop trying to hit on Sol. She doesn't like you." Sol sprang to her feet, having had enough before wrapping an arm around Jennie's waist, to hip her arm over her shoulders.
"I should take her out again her inside now. She's had too much to drink."
"Sure, she's so noisy." April replied.
"But I want to keep playing games." Jennie protested and Sol turned to steer her towards the apartment.
"Gosh, why do you to drink so much?" Sol groaned as she dragged her along the corridor and into the girls room.
"Sol, my friend." She blabbered, in response when they entered and Sol grunted ad she helped to lower Jennie, into one of the beds in the room.
"My Sol..." Jennie was saying as she wrapped her arms around Sol's neck and made to pull her towards herself, but Sol was quick to free herself from her grip.
She was so going to scold Jennie, the following morning when she became sober. Jennie propelled herself to sit on one hand pushing herself to sit face to face with, Sol who wondered what she was up to.
"Sol..." She started softly. "I like you the most. I like you more than my mum and dad. I like you because you're my favourite person in the world." Sol's heart started racing and she gulped when Jennie leaned closer, tears welling in her eyes.
"What about you? Who's your favourite person?"
"Stop the nonsense and go to bed, Jennie." She replied.
"Is it Ralph?...Or is it Herley?" She asked, a lump in her throat. I don't want you to, Sol. I don't want you to like anyone else. Just like me, okay? Don't be with anyone else, other than me."
Jennie's voice started to fade, amidst the pleas and her arms on Sol,were starting to drop as she passed out.
"Jennifer." She called in a strangled sob, upset she'd blacked out before she could say something she'd always wanted to, bit never got the chance to. "Can you please stop making me get my hopes up? It sucks."
