Just Fake Marriage!
Arkan opened eyes when he felt a touch on the corner of his lips. He saw a woman standing in front of him. His sight was slightly blurred by the consciousness that still hadn't fully awakened. Is he hallucinating or is he missing this woman so much that he dreams about her?
"Arkan...."
Arkan touched the hand that rubbed the corner of his lips gently, then he smiled and said, "You're back already?"
"I came back because I wanted to see you, but... what's with your lips? You're bleeding."
The grip of the hand moved to touch the corner of the lips. There is a rough texture and it also hurts when pressed. His consciousness immediately recovered as he remembered where the wound had come from. Did he get it when Raya threw the bag at him?
"Let me see."
He glanced at Lunar who was sitting on the right side. The woman looked worried checking her condition. Again his heart trembled because of Lunar.
"The blood is dry, but it needs to be cleaned. You wait here a moment. I'll compress it with warm water."
Sitting there alone for a long time just looking at Lunar back and forth, they finally met again. Lunar compressed the wound with warm water to get rid of the dried blood. Drops were applied, then Lunar closed the wound.
"No need. It's just a light wound."
"Are you sure we don't need to close it?"
Seeing the unanimous decision made Lunar give up. She left the wound open. Originally, she was about to put the medicine she brought to its original place, but Arkan stopped her intention.
"Accompany me here."
Lunar hesitantly replied, "Alright."
They were silent for a long time. Confused how to act and confused what to say. The incident in the bathroom is still embarrassing, moreover it has created a quarrel between lovers.
"Shouldn't you be staying at home? Why did you come back?"
"That...." Lunar glanced at the man who was looking at her for a while. "I saw your car parked in front of my house. I came here to make sure whether I saw it wrong or not. It turns out that I really saw it wrong."
Lunar is not wrong to see. Arkan had just come without notice. At that time, Arkan was very worried that Lunar would approach a parked car. Luckily it didn't happen.
He immediately started the car engine after Lunar entered the house. On the way, his cell phone rang and the anxiety increased. Lunar called him and asked if he was coming. The streets were quiet at night and so did he purposely stop to pick up the phone.
But seeing Lunar's current attitude, his arrival seemed doubtful. It was better that way since he only wanted to see Lunar for a little while. He didn't want to give up hope if he said otherwise.
"Oh, yes! What about Raya?"
"Raya... want to calm down for a bit."
"She must be very surprised. I feel very guilty in your relationship."
Arkan regretted the words he heard. Her relationship is already very complicated due to a fake marriage that suddenly happened. Raya is the one who gets hurt the most here. How can he be responsible for all the actions he did?
"Lunar..."
Lunar turned to the man who was speaking seriously at this time. She swallowed hard as if unable to wait for the next words. On the other hand, she must be able to accept the truth. She had to wake up from a dream to have the Arkan.
"How about we just end it?"
"What?"
"Our wedding."
Lunar checked the calendar on her phone, then said, "There is still time left. One month and nineteen days from our one year marriage. At that time, we will separate. You and your father made this pact, right? We also made an agreement and shouldn't break it. "
"No problem, Lunar. Just less than two months away it shouldn't matter. I'll talk to my father."
Lunar's heart seemed to be shattered into pieces. How can Arkan say that all of that doesn't matter? It's so sudden. How could she accept this sudden decision?
"My parents...."
"I will also discuss it with your parents."
"Then how do I feel about you?"
Arkan flinched and his eyes heated up. "This is really unfair." He turned his face away in a sad state. "Lunar... I'm sorry...."
***
The next day Arkan and his father visited Lunar's house. At first, they were greeted with a smile on the homeowner's face, but after the point was made, they were sent away in disgrace.
Damien was furious actually but there was nothing they could do. Sooner or later parting will happen too. After all, it all started on the wrong foot. This is a risk that must be borne.
"It was Lunar who brought disaster to your life, but we are the ones who will accept all the consequences." Damien said as he smoothed his wrinkled jacket that had been pulled during the fight earlier.
"That's better, compared to Lunar who bears it alone."
Damien smiled faintly, then patted his son's shoulder. "You talk like a grown man." He babbled annoyed at his own appearance. "Even the seams on my jacket broke because they were pulled earlier."
Damien walked his son back home. Did not stop first because he was reluctant to meet Raya. He didn't like the woman who had influenced his son.
Since they were together, Arkan became a son who no longer obeyed. More time spent with Raya than with him. Besides that, Raya doesn't come from a good family. He believes that after marrying Raya later, his son will be even worse.
"I can't forbid you to stay away from that woman. I don't know what you like about her. I just hope that you are happy. It was better if it was with Lunar. He's a good girl. But you seem to think otherwise."
Arkan just kept silent as if he didn't care about his father's words. He didn't want to make their relationship more complicated, especially now that his feelings were abysmal.
"Just so you know, Lunar often comes to visit me. She just came to take care of me who lives alone."
Arkan turned his head in disbelief. Was it true, that Lunar had come to visit her father without her knowledge? All this time, he only thought that Lunar was staying at home.
"He also became my partner in various parties. His ability is very good in attracting attention, even he knows about business matters. I intended to make her work in our company, but she refused. It is deeply regretted."
It's not that Lunar's skills are bad that it's hard to find a job, but rather they don't give Lunar a chance to show her abilities.
Damien nudged his son who looked dumbfounded. He shook his head. "It turns out that you really don't know anything about your own wife. Hurry up, get down. I have to meet my business client."
Arkan got out of the car with increasingly mixed feelings. Like what his father had said, he really didn't know anything about his own wife. So far, Lunar has only said a small part about his life. Nico, family, work. All of that is not far from the reason why Lunar was trapped in a fake marriage. He had never known the strengths that lay within Lunar. somehow now he feels like a failure as a husband.
