I Don't Want You To Be Sad
Secretary Ham offers to take Raya to the studio. He was very happy, because Raya did not refuse his offer. What can be said that their relationship is getting closer?
He intends to tell her about his feelings, later when the time is right. For now, he will focus on a relationship like this rather than rushing to get Raya.
"What concept are you going to shoot with today?"
"Hmm, they set up a fairy in the forest concept. This is a shot for a shampoo commercial."
"Oh, you're getting ad offers now?"
"I always get them, but a busy schedule means my manager has to turn down a lot of offers. It's not easy, because we have to sort out which jobs it feels like to take."
"You are really great! The fact that a successful career woman is beside me fills me with pride."
Raya smiled, thought for a while, then said, "It's rare for anyone to be proud of me, because I've lived alone all this timeUsually, Arkan supports my career, but he has left me. My life is very tragic, huh?"
"You don't say that. Everyone is proud of you, isn't that right? But they can't say it directly like I do."
"You are right. By the way, how is Arkan?"
Secretary Ham was confused about what to answer, if he said that Arkan was fine, he was afraid that he would invite sadness. While Raya is lamenting her relationship, Arkan is actually having fun there. Conversely, if he said Arkan was not fine, it would definitely invite hope and worry later.
"Sir Arkan is doing very well."
Raya laughed. "Are you praising your own boss?"
"I don't know how to respond. Your relationship is over and Sir Arkan is having a relationship with his wife."
Raya frowned. "Wife?"
Secretary Ham forgets the fact that Raya hasn't heard about Arkan's relationship with Lunar. Why did he have to mention that now? He doesn't want to make Raya sad, but he does the exact opposite.
"What do you mean? Arkan is married?"
"Ah, that ... looks like you can ask Sir Arkan directly. I don't want to—"
"Stop the car!"
"Y-you want to get off here?"
"Right now!"
Secretary Ham reluctantly pulled over to the car. He had made a mistake, even though he had gone to great lengths to approach Raya and make their relationship better. He's only one step away from expressing his feelings, but look at what he's doing now.
Raya didn't speak right away when the car had pulled over. She unbuckled her seat belt first, then let out a long breath as if she were calming herself down.
"Explain to me."
"Sorry, Miss Raya. I shouldn't have said that."
Raya looks at Secretary Ham and glares at him. "I said for you to explain it to me. Don't you understand?"
"I don't know if I can explain it to you. How about you ask Sir Arkan about this matter?"
"Abraham!"
"Yes, Miss!"
Raya grabbed Secretary Ham by the collar, tugging him so she could stare at him more closely.
"You have to explain it to me if you want to live!"
"Alright!"
Secretary Ham wasn't afraid of the threat, but rather flustered, because it was the first time they had come face to face at such close range. Moreover, he could feel Raya's breath on his face when he spoke. He was so nervous.
Raya pushed Secretary Ham away, releasing her grip on the man's collar. "Don't make me wait any longer than this."
Secretary Ham fixed his tie before clearing his throat to shake off the nervousness he was feeling, only then saying, "Mr Damien didn't really do Sir Arkan and Madam Lunar's divorce papersthey got back together after a long time and now I hear that she is having a pregnancy."
Raya was speechless, wanted to cry, but her disappointment at the situation was even greater. Especially, Arkan's father had a hand in all of this? She knew that Damien didn't like her, but did it have to be this way?
She had indeed cut ties with Arkan, even still hoping for their relationship to return one day. On the other hand, she also knew that that was not the case. Her ex-girlfriend liked Lunar. She should have known that she had no chance and Arkan would live with that woman. However, why is it so difficult to accept reality?
"Why didn't anyone tell me about thisin fact, you who I have made as a place to tell stories also don't say anything. You are all so mean."
Raya got out of the car, not listening to Secretary Ham's further explanation. She felt that she had had enough of all the pain she had received.
Secretary Ham didn't just stay silent, then he followed Raya and took the woman's hand. When he managed to get them to face each other again, Secretary Ham saw tears had streamed down Raya's cheeks. His heart ached every time he saw Raya feel sad.
"You can use me as a backup," said Secretary Ham.
Raya couldn't think straight anymore. She hugged Secretary Ham, shedding her tears. It was what she needed now.
Time passed, they were in the car for so long. Raya has calmed down a bit now. She tried to accept the fact that they are could never get back together.
Secretary Ham gave Raya a tissue, then handed him the drink he had bought earlier when he left Raya for a while to calm down.
"Thank you," said Raya.
Secretary Ham didn't want to speak first, so he just kept silent with no intention of speaking. He shows his concern with mere actions like a tissue or a drink.
"I look so pity."
Raya's words succeeded in making Secretary Ham turn his head. He doesn't know what pity means, because according to him in every relationship there will be things like comings and goings, disappointments and happiness, together and alone. It's a normal cycle for people in relationships.
"I want to meet him."
"You still like Sir Arkan, don't you? Even after I mentioned his existence."
"How can I forget the man who has been with me all this time? Remembering how before we went through ups and downs together, then our relationship broke up in the middle of the road and made the bond that had existed just like that, I don't think I will be able to accept it."
"What do you plan to do the next after two of you meet?"
"I want to talk."
"About what? You want to ask to make up? Break up someone's household, take the father of a baby, then only think about how you are going to carry out daily life with him? I beg you, don't do that. You'll look even more pitiful later and I don't want you to look like that."
Raya furrowed her brows. "What are you talking about? I just want to talk to them, especially Lunar."
"What if I say no, you still go?"
"Nothing can stand in my way, Secretary Ham. I'll go even if you hold me back."
Secretary Ham shook his head, then pushed Raya's shoulders on the chair, preventing Raya from wanting to get out of the car. He couldn't allow the woman to feel sad any more.
"You're not going anywhere, I won't allow it!"
