HYBRID TYGER 21
tyger
I growl as I hang up the phone but then it rings again, I pick it up knowing who it is.
—Tyger. I answer the call.
“The PR team filled us in on what they're saying about your guest on television. — Stone, one of the members of the council and who lives in the domain, speaks calmly.
- Yea. But it won't change anything, this is one of the many ridiculous accusations they make against us.
"Is she with you of her own free will?"
"But of course she fucking did!" — grunt.
“It's just a confirmation. Let's try to solve it our way: by ignoring. Since everything that is serious about us comes to the council, I decided to call you to find out more about it.
“She's here of her own free will, she's even willing to go to her father and the journalists to deny the story.
“We might need her to do this if things get worse.
"I just don't want it to put you in danger." — I warn.
“We don't risk any female's safety, you know that. If it happens, it will be with full reinforcement.
- OK. I have to go to her now. Keep me informed. — hang up.
I take a deep breath in order to control my nerves before seeing her. Emily just doesn't fit into my life. Right now I have to go to her to stop her from leaving the domain and doing something stupid. I often work with the human task force capturing Medicinne criminals and rescuing found hybrids. I wonder now: what about when I'm not here?
I could try to convince myself that what we had was just sex but it never was and never will be just that with her. When I have her in my arms I feel like she fits perfectly in a way that my life doesn't, which is very confusing.
I allowed myself to share sex with a human female even though deep down I knew it was too big a risk because I could get attached. The thought that something bad could happen to her and I wasn't there plagued me.
I park the jeep in front of the females' dormitory with a sudden brake and with hurried steps I go up to the apartment where she is. I open the door to find her on her feet pacing back and forth nervously playing with her hands. My heart races when I see her.
- Hey. she says when she sees me and runs into my arms.
I swallow hard but lift my arms to stroke her back. She's small in my embrace, it only makes my protective instinct towards her stronger.
- What should I do? - She asks looking at me with the beautiful brown eyes she has.
I inhale her scent which is like an instant tranquilizer.
“First of all, you're not going anywhere. I say.
"And my dad is going to go around telling lies about the Hybrids to the papers?" - She walks away.
— We have a team for that, we're used to false accusations, it won't change anything. He has no proof.
“They said you fed me to the animals.
“That turns out to be more funny than alarming. I smile.
- Funny? My picture is in the news, when I leave here everyone will recognize me for being the daughter of the madman who said I had been fed to animals.
- Get out of here? I feel my chest ache at the thought.
"Yes... I can't live like this forever."
"Don't you realize you're in danger out there now that your image has been associated with us?"
"And what will happen to me then?"
“You'll stay here, where you'll be safe.
"I don't know if I can stay calm...
“We'll just ignore it for now, if things get worse we'll hold a press conference where you'll deny it, no need to be alarmed by that.
“I still think I should go there and find out what he's up to with all this. Don't you think it's strange that he found my bag on that road? How did he find it? How did he know I passed by there? What's he up to pretending to be a concerned parent when he's the one who kicked me out?
“That's doubtful, of course, but we'll wait for him to take the next step then. Don't be stubborn with these thoughts about getting out of here. I can't spend twenty-four hours a day taking care of you and rush out here at any moment.
I see sadness in her eyes and guilt consumes me.
“I didn't ask you to come rushing over here, Creek who insisted on warning you. But that's okay, I'll stay here. Thank you for taking care of me and for coming for me. You can go back to where you came from. He lowers his gaze, turning away.
Gently squeezing her arm turning her back to me, I lift her chin noticing her teary eyes.
- What is wrong?
- Anything.
- I want the truth.
She sighs closing her eyes, then opens them and then starts to speak.
“My life sucks, I hate being as dependent on other people as I am right now. I don't even have clothes to wear, a bed of my own to sleep in, a job, the direction of my life as I always had. I have nobody, I have nothing. I am tired! - the crying voice breaks my heart.
When tears start to slide down both cheeks as, I approach immediately cleaning them.
- I'm not here? How do you not have anyone?
“We don't have a relationship. I'm just a responsibility you didn't ask for, how do you want me to feel this good? I really think I should go.
— You cannot go now that your face has been associated with us, unfortunately you will be harassed by the press and bystanders, including hate groups. Creek says after watching everything in silence.
- I get it. Emily murmurs, lowering her gaze once more.
My cell phone rings taking my focus away from her, I press the button without reading the name of the contact.
“It's Flame. We need you at security.
- I'm on my way. — I hang up — I have to go now, but as soon as my shift is over, I'll come back and we'll talk. I caress her arm.
“No problem, go.
“You are not a prisoner here. Creek can take you on a little tour. — I look at the hybrid female — Can you do that?
“You read my thoughts. - She replies smiling.
- Good. I have to go. I kiss the top of her head.
I withdraw before I take her in my arms, because that's what my body wants, everything in me really. In the hall, I press the button for the elevator, but before I go in I hear Creek calling me out of the apartment.
“Tyger!
- Yea?
“I need to talk to you about something Emily told me that has me worried.
- Which is? I frown.
“I know you shared sex and Emily thinks she can't get pregnant, I didn't tell her anything at the time that hybrid males can impregnate human females because you're the one who has to do that. She's ovulating, there's a high possibility of that happening. I shudder inwardly at the thought.
— I lost control and didn't think about the consequences. My heart starts hammering in my chest.
“Bit her too, you tagged her Tyger. That doesn't strike me as a male who doesn't want a mate.
“I shouldn't have one. You know how my life is.
"He's possessive of her, you just don't see it." Let her go if you don't want her, but don't play with her feelings.
“I'm not playing with her and I won't let her go, I want to protect her, she's small and fragile. - growl.
"Do you have feelings for her?"
I hesitate but decide to be true as we always are.
- Yea. Fuck, I don't want to become an obsessed male like the ones who took mates. - I sincerely regret feeling a tightness in my chest.
“Make a decision soon. Either let her go or commit to her, even more so now that she might be carrying your child.
“Don't tell her about it, I'll do it myself. - I ask.
“It is your duty.
The hybrid female is gone and I find myself staring at the wall imagining Emily, the tiny human female who broke through the barriers I had erected, swollen by my seed. The idea terrifies and excites me at the same time.
I leave the building determined to make a decision as soon as I get back tonight.
