EPILOGUE HOOK / THE END
Abbie got out of bed with difficulty in the middle of the night, she had the feeling that she was always hungry, her belly was huge and she ate every hour. She looked at her sleeping husband who stirred slightly.
"Abbie…" he murmured, knowing she was up for her early morning snack.
“You can go on sleeping. - she said because every time she woke up, he also made to accompany her in whatever room it was.
“You know my fears. ’ he said, getting up from the bed with his eyes still closed.
“Nothing will happen and I can scream if I feel anything. she insisted and got up from the bed walking awkwardly to the kitchen.
Since her belly was too big, she couldn't walk normally. Hook ignored her saying he could go on sleeping and got up to follow her.
Abbie opened the refrigerator and grabbed the plate of food that her partner always prepared for her, already knowing her routine of eating at dawn.
Hook just sat silently beside his mate as she desperately ate the food.
"Wow, I'm still hungry!" That's weird. he murmured.
— They ran out of ready food and it will take a while to arrive if I order now. What do you want to eat? I can go get it.
"Anything, I'm just really hungry." he said and gasped as a sharp pain shot through his back. He groaned again, feeling the pain stronger.
Hook's face was suddenly pale. He got up so fast that the bench I was sitting on fell to the floor. Abbie groaned again and her legs felt weak as she pushed herself to her feet, but Hook caught her before she fell.
“Abbie? What was it? Are you experiencing contractions? he asked using the labor knowledge he gained through internet searches and phone conversations with Dr. Mandy.
Abbie grabbed hold of her husband and squeezed his arm so hard it broke the skin as another pain came so hard her knees shook.
- Take a deep breath. Hook said, breathing with her. He was desperate but couldn't afford to show it — Is the baby going to be born?
“I think the time has come. My goodness!
She took a few more deep breaths and then Hook took her in his arms and carried her to sit on the sofa. Abbie groaned again, closed her eyes, hugged her belly, took more deep breaths, and then opened her eyes.
- Passed on. she said with a ragged breath.
"I'll call a car." - Hook said picking up the cell phone immediately - Keep breathing deeply, everything will be fine.
He dialed a number on his cell phone and in a matter of seconds the call was answered.
“Come over to the men's building, Abbie's in pain. As fast as you can. — He hung up and held her hand — Do you want water?
- Yes please. —she replied trying to remain calm, she was already too traumatized with the normal birth videos she watched on Youtube.
Hook's hands were shaking as he fetched Abbie a glass of water, his heart was pounding and an out-of-control anxiety consumed him.
"Here, let me help you." He guided the glass to her lips and she drank half of the water.
— Take the bag with Bless's things and mine, it's in his little room on top of the dresser. - Abbie asked referring to Blade's old room that they had transformed into a beautiful room for Blessed.
Hook ran and did as she asked, knelt in front of her and gave her more water, then a kiss on her belly.
- It's gonna be okay. he said even though he was worried on a high level. They were the lives of the most important things in his existence.
Then his cell phone beeped, it was a message from Blade saying he was there with the car. Hook took Abbie in his arms, hiding his fearful expression. The trip to the medical center was very quick, Abbie had another contraction and grabbed Hook's other arm leaving more marks, he just endured and comforted her as much as he could.
Nurse Paul who was on duty quickly appeared with a curious expression.
“She's having contractions. Hook said.
- This way. — the nurse motioned to follow him and walked into the operating room.
Abbie's face tightened in pain as another contraction came. She buried her face in Hook's chest and bit back a scream.
— You can scream if you want my love. - Hook said wishing at that moment to remove all the pain she was feeling and put it inside her.
- Hey! They called me and I came running, unfortunately Dr. Harvey had a family emergency out of here and only Paul was on call. — Dr. Alisson appeared in the doorway with a briefcase.
Abbie's face was red and she gripped Hook's hand tightly, feeling the pain of the contraction slowly fade away.
"Have you counted how many minutes the contractions are coming?" the doctor asked.
“Less than two minutes. Hook said, and Abbie looked at him in surprise. "I'm counting in my head." he explained as he laid his wife down on the hospital bed.
- Right. I'm going to perform the touch exam on you and listen to the baby's heart. — the doctor did all the preparation, put on gloves and checked Abbie — You're already six centimeters dilated, you were probably already dilating without feeling pain. Let's wait for the ten centimeters and soon your baby will be in your arms. — Dr. Alisson gave a smile going to listen to the little heartbeat. It was all right.
"Is there anything I can do for her, Doctor?" Hook asked.
— You can massage your feet to relax and also your back when a contraction comes, there's hot water in the shower if it gets too much for you, it relieves a little.
“I'm fine for now. I just want you to stay by my side holding my hand and not leave for a second. - Abbie asked looking into her companion's eyes.
“I'll do whatever you want. I only leave your side when I'm dead. He kissed the top of her head and stroked her hand along his.
“Another contraction coming. she warned after a minute and a half.
Her face contorted and she buried her head in the pillows screaming louder this time.
“That was really strong. He gasped, catching his breath.
“Fuck…” Hook growled low, hating to see her in pain. “I'm here, love. — He ran his fingers over her face and kissed her hand — I'm with you, squeeze my arm, or better yet, bite me. I want to feel your pain.
Abbie couldn't help but smile.
— There is no comparison for this pain but it's beautiful that you think so. She nuzzled her face into his hand.
— Help her change into her hospital exam clothes, it's more comfortable. - the doctor said pointing to the folded and clean clothes.
Hook immediately did as the doctor asked, needing to stop twice because of the contractions that came.
“The contractions are in less than a minute, I'll check you again. — so the doctor did — The time has come.
Hook's and Abbie's hearts pounded so hard with overwhelming anxiety it hurt. The doctor called the nurse and ordered him to get ready to help her.
A few minutes later, when everything was ready for the baby's arrival, Abbie fixed her gaze on Hook and smiled at him, who returned it lovingly.
“Come on, Abbie. When the next contraction comes, you push with all your might. — Dr. Alisson announced and she nodded quickly.
A contraction came and Abbie pushed, putting all the strength she had into it, Hook's hand going white from the grip she gave. She couldn't recover from one, another followed and she screamed aloud in so much pain she almost couldn't bear it.
Abbie pushed five more times and screamed each time, gripping Hook's hand tightly. Her companion lifted her hand and kissed her fingers, feeling her heart crush inside her chest.
- It does not give. I can not take it anymore. Abbie exclaimed.
“You've dilated four inches and with all the strength you've exerted, the baby should be in your arms by now. The medic gave Hook a dark look.
"What's wrong doc?" he asked in despair.
“She's bleeding beyond normal. We'll have to do an emergency c-section. Quick, Paul, get everything ready.
Abbie looked at Hook with tears in her eyes and her chin quivering.
- I am scared. “I wasn't strong enough,” he confessed. Please doc, save my baby if something goes wrong. Hook roared.
“Nothing will go wrong. You are brave and strong. Our son will be fine and healthy and so will you. Abbie please stay with me.
- Come on. Hook lift her so I can apply the anesthesia. Hook gently did, every moment comforting his female.
The doctor, with the help of the nurse, began to carry out the necessary procedures when they learned that the anesthesia had taken effect. Hook held Abbie's hands tightly, he didn't want to show it but he was very worried and his heart ached.
A few minutes passed, Hook was impatient but he comforted Abbie all the time, some more time passed and then Dr. Alisson removed the baby from Abbie's belly, the doctor used a suction pump to clean his mouth.
"Why didn't he cry?" Hook questioned but didn't immediately get an answer. “Why isn't he crying? — meanwhile Abbie tried to lift her head to look at what was happening despite feeling very weak.
- What's up? Abbie asked with tears wanting to roll from her eyes.
“Calm down. the doctor asked calmly.
The nurse took a small towel and then wiped the baby's face and body and then a loud newborn cry echoed through the room. Hook almost fell to the ground in relief at the wonderful sound that filled his ears.
"Do you want to cut the umbilical cord, Daddy?" the orderly asked Hook, who quickly nodded in emotion.
He gently let go of Abbie's hand and walked over to the doctor who had her son in her arms, he bent down and carefully cut the cord. His heart overflowed with joy when the doctor handed his son over to him, with a little fear he caught him feeling the best feeling in the world.
He slowly walked over to Abbie and placed him in her arms without taking his hands away yet. She looked in wonder at her baby, her son, feeling a sensation so good it was almost too painful. It was a mother's love.
They continued to look at the baby in silence as Dr. Alisson gave the cesarean stitches.
"Is everything okay with him doctor?" Abbie managed to ask despite her weariness.
“Yes, it's a very strong and healthy baby. Congratulations Hook and congratulations Abbie, you were very strong. The doctor broke into a big smile.
“Thank you, Dr. Alisson. Hook spoke emotionally, still not looking away from his son. The doctor smiled.
“Bend down a little more. †Abbie asked Hook and he did, standing right next to her. "I love you so much." She nuzzled her face into his.
“Thanks for everything, Abbie. You made me a better male. With out you I would be nothing. You are my everything. You are the thing I love most in this world. Everything to me. Our son is a blessing. He caressed her face tenderly.
- Yes, he is. Our Blessed...
The end.♥️
