2281 Bodhi Spirit Light, Who Said I’m Not Familiar With Dharma, Please Enlighten Me, Buddhas

A grand majestic hall stood high on the Divine Thunder Drum Peak. 

Inside the hall were thousands of Buddhist statues, emanating dazzling Buddhist Light and a holy aura. Their peaceful presence filled every corner of the hall. 

When Gu Chan and the others entered the hall, the Buddhist statues came alive. Their eyes started to move and look at the arriving group. 

"Buddhist Brother, how are you?" said a Buddhist statue in the grand hall. 

"Greetings, fellow Buddhas." 

"Buddhist Brother, I believe you're here for the Bodhi Spirit Light."

"I am."

The Buddhist Dao's Bodhi Spirit Light was one of the most important Opportunities of Fortune on the Divine Thunder Drum Peak. It contained a huge amount of Buddhist knowledge and insights, which were important to any Buddhist cultivators. 

Once cultivated and refined, one would be able to reach the threshold of a Monarch.

On top of that, even if the lucky one was not a Buddhist cultivator, it could also protect one's Daoist core from wicked evils and increase one's cognizance. 

However, it was not easy to acquire the Bodhi Spirit Light.

One must go through the trials of the Buddhas on Divine Thunder Drum Peak.

The trials of the Buddhas were, of course, related to Buddhism. 

One's Dharma would be tested instead of cultivation level.

Anyone who could beat thirty-six of the one-hundred and eight Buddhist statues in the grand hall in a Dharmic debate would get the Bodhi Spirit Light.

"Buddhist Brother, please," said a Buddhist statue.

"After you," Gu Chan said with a smile. 

When the two of them started a Dharmic debate, golden lotuses bloomed on the floor, and divine lights shone.

While they were debating, multiple figures arrived at the Divine Thunder Drum Peak.

It was Chu Kuangren and company, as well as Cundi and Receiva. 

When the Buddhist cultivators who came with Gu Chan saw Cundi and Receiva, they frowned. 

One of them asked, "What are you two doing here?" 

"Me and my junior brother are here to have a Dharmic debate with the Buddhas," Cundi said.

In terms of cultivation, they might be lower than Gu Chan. 

However, in terms of Dharma, they were confident enough to beat others.

"You two?"

A monk scoffed. "If there's no Buddhist Monarch from the Pan Gu Universe, what makes you think you're qualified to join this trial?"

In other words, they looked down on Cundi and Receiva's background.

"We're all equals. Besides, we've come to join the trial because we're qualified," Receiva said. 

He did not want to start a conflict with Gu Chan and his people. However, when he thought of his senior brother isolated in the Heavenly Buddhist Pure Land, he decided to step up and defend themselves. 

The saying that people fought over respect and Buddhas fought over incense had basically the same meaning. 

Now, with Chu Kuangren as their support, they gained the confidence to stand up against Gu Chan.

"You two trying to get in? Stop dreaming!" said the monk.

"Everyone should be equal before the Buddhas, and no one should be prejudiced against. This Buddhist Brother here is very much so prejudiced against the two of you. I guess his Buddhist cultivation is a waste," Chu Kuangren said. 

He waved his sleeve and released a vast energy wave.

"Kabaam!"

The domineering energy blasted all the Buddhist cultivators away.

"Chu Kuangren! Are you interfering with our internal affairs?"

The shocked monks looked at Chu Kuangren with reverence, but no one dared to stop him.

"Internal affairs? I'm not interested in that, but I do want to have a look at the Buddhist statue in this grand hall," he said with a smile.

Then, he strutted into the hall.

Cundi, Receive, and the others immediately followed him inside. 

"You!" 

One of the monks was infuriated, but he did not do anything to stop Chu Kuangren because he knew he was no match.

"Let them in," said an older but confident-looking monk. 

"Even if Chu Kuangren enters the hall, he won't be able to get anything out of the Buddhas." 

The others nodded in agreement. 

The Buddhist world was very specific about the Buddhist fate.

Without the Buddhist fate, one would not be able to get anything, even if the great Opportunity of Fortune were right in front of their eyes.

"Yeah, we should show him the essence of Dharma." 

"We must teach him a lesson so that he will learn not to be arrogant."

"He should know that power is not absolute, and he can't do whatever he wants."

Inside the grand hall, Gu Chan's Dharmic debate with the Buddhas had entered its climax.

"Buddhist Brother, thank you," Gu Chan said.

A Buddhist statue opposite him chuckled. "The Buddhist world has produced many geniuses, and we're happy it's thriving. This is the Bodhi Spirit Light. Take it."

He released a golden ball of light to Gu Chan.

The ball of light contained a huge amount of runes that felt mystical.

Gu Chan was happy with the ball of light in his hand. "Once I refine this Spirit Light, I will be able to reach the threshold of a Monarch. Coupled with my talents, I'll be able to break through to the Pseudo-Monarch Realm!" 

Suddenly, he sensed the arrival of someone else. 

He turned around and saw Chu Kuangren and company walking into the grand hall.

When Chu Kuangren saw the ball of light in Gu Chan's hand, his eyes gleamed with interest. He smiled and said, "So that's the legendary Bodhi Spirit Light?"

Gu Chan's eyes widened in fear, and he quickly kept the Spirit Light away as if Chu Kuangren would snatch it away if he were any slower. 

"Brother Chu, how are you?" 

Gu Chan put his hands together and bowed with a smile.

"Ha! You looked like you were scared of me taking your stuff. Don't worry, I'm not a robber." Chu Kuangren smiled like a gentleman.

Gu Chan simply smiled in reply. 

No one knew if Chu Kuangren was serious or joking. 

Then, he looked at Cundi and Receiva.

"Buddhist Brothers, you guys are here too." 

"Greetings, Buddhist Disciple." 

Cundi and Receiva bowed. 

Gu Chan had a prestigious status in the Heavenly Buddhist Pure Land. 

Other than a Buddhist Monarch, the other Buddhist cultivators feared and revered him.

Even if Cundi and Receiva disliked him, they had to be polite and with manners. If Gu Chan held them responsible for disrespect, it would be more difficult for them to continue cultivating in the Pure Land.

"The two of you want to join the trial as well, huh?"

"Yes, that's right."

Cundi and Receiva were thrilled to hold the Bodhi Spirit Light in their hands. 

The Spirit Light would accelerate their cultivation.

"I didn't expect the two of you to have such deep insights into Dharma. I'm impressed," Gu Chan said. A strange look flashed on his face.

Chu Kuangren caught the strange look and pondered on it. 

Gu Chan seemed to have an ulterior motive.

Should he find a chance to take out Gu Chan?

When the thought appeared in Chu Kuangren's mind, Gu Chan felt chills running down his spine and his hair standing on end.

He looked at Chu Kuangren and said, "I wonder what brings you here, Brother Chu? Are you here to accompany Cundi and Receiva?"

"I have nothing to do with the two of them. I'm here because I'm interested in the Opportunity of Fortune on Divine Thunder Drum Peak," Chu Kuangren said.

"I'm afraid you will be disappointed, Brother Chu. The Opportunity of Fortune here is only for people who have Dharma or Buddhist knowledge, if you may." 

"Huh? Who said I'm not familiar with Dharma?" Chu Kuangren chuckled.

Then, he walked over to the Buddhist statues and said, "I, Chu Kuangren, am here to have a Dharmic debate. Please enlighten me."
