"Mommy! Daddy! Wake up!" The young boy cried.
His eyes were filled with sorrow and fear. He had blood soaking his hair, a bruise forming in his cheek bone, and other wounds. Suddenly, shadows formed and tried restraining the boy, but he fought.
They started to take his parents' bodies away in body bags and he screamed. He screamed, kicked, and cried. He cried for his parents, begging them to come back.
His chest tightened and he suddenly stopped breathing. He plummeted to the ground, his eyes closing as his body fell.
"Hades!"
He felt calm when that voice reached his ears, one of the most beautiful voices he heard.
"Hades, baby, please wake up!"
Someone was shaking him, but who?
"Hades!"
I watched as he quickly sat up, his eyes wide and fearful as he looked around the room. When they landed on me he broke down in tears and collapsed onto me. I gently ran my fingers through his hair and kissed his head, murmuring soothing words.
After a while he calmed down and just laid there, sniffling and regaining his breath. I looked over at the clock and frowned, it was five in the morning already. I didn't move him though, I only hummed gently. His grip tightened as he looked at me, fear in his eyes.
"What if that dream comes back?" He whispered. "I can't see my parents...dead...again."
I frowned, this accident was plaguing his mind. This is the third night he has had that same nightmare and it was only getting worse. He goes from being happy or strict during the day to the broken shell of a man who was traumatized. After a while his breathing evened out as he fell asleep once again and I smiled.
The next morning neither one of us got out of bed, we just laid there as he mourned his parents all over again. I made a mental note to talk to the pack doctor today, I want to get to the bottom of this.
When he was finally calmed down and functional he got up and showered. I sat there on the bed, wondering what could be causing these nightmares.
I shook my head, I need to stop forming theories. My head is starting to hurt from them. I dragged myself out of the bed and walked into the bathroom.
I took off my clothes and stepped into the shower with him. He froze and looked at me while I just chuckled.
"Like what you see?" I teased as his eyes turned black with lust.
He grabbed me and pulled me close, kissing my lips.
"Very much." He whispered, his voice deep and husky.
I moaned as he grinded into me, kissing me with passion. I melted into
his arms and kiss, the moment wrapping around me. I tangled my fingers in his hair, our lips dancing together.
A fire burned in my core as I moaned, wanting him. He suddenly pulled away and cupped my face.
"We should stop before this gets out of control. You're not ready." He stated, running his thumb along my cheek.
We were both panting, our eyes black as we stared at each other. I swallowed, I seriously need to start thanking him for stopping me.
"Does that mean I have to get out?" I poured.
His grip tightened, "No."
After our shower we walked around the territory and I actually cooked lunch for the whole pack. Hades wouldn't leave my side all day, glaring at any male who flirted with me.
I sighed as I sat down in his office, sipping the hot coco from the mug.
He frowned, "It's Summer and you're drinking hot coco?"
"Why not?" I retorted, grinning.
He chuckled and shook his head, "You're something else."
We stayed in a peaceful silence for a while, just enjoying each other's company. However, it was quickly ended when someone knocked on the door.
A man poked his head in and I immediately recognized him. He tried stirring up trouble with Hades and I this morning. Flirting with me even when Hades told him to stop.
I got up and walked over to Hades, sitting on his lap as the guy walked in. Hades wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my neck.
"What do you need, Owen?"
Owen swallowed as he stared at me with obvious lust.
"There was an attack on the Southern border. Jackson needs you there immediately." He stated.
Hades sighed, "Fine."
I got off his lap and placed my mug down, "I'm coming with you." I stated, not leaving any room for argument.
I could see the ghost of a smirk on Owen's face, there was something in his eyes that had me feeling uneasy.
Hades nodded and we headed out; when we reached the Southern border there was no one there. Not even Jackson.
I spun around, ready to yell at Owen but I froze.
Owen was grinning as he pointed a gun at me, looking at Hades.
"Now, I need some answers." He stated. "And you're going to give them to me."
I stared at the gun, my heart racing with adrenaline. I swallowed and focused myself on Owen. His eyes were wide and crazy, showing nothing but jealousy, desire, lust, and hatred.
"Why did you reject her?" Owen asked calmly.
Hades clenched his jaw, "She didn't deserve someone like me."
"Someone like you?"
"Yes, a dangerous..." He trailed off and shook his head. "Get to the point of all of this, Owen."
The man before me tightened his grip on the gun, tears ran down his cheeks. "Remember that night? The night you murdered my mate?"
I gaped at Hades, he killed Owen's mate. Surely he had a good reason, right?
Hades nodded, "She deserved it."
"She deserved it." Owen scoffed. "She was doing the right thing, ending your horrible existence. Why did you kill her?"
"Like I said, she deserved it. She tried killing me, the rules-
"I know what the damn rules are, idiot!" Owen spat. "She only held the knife, she didn't strike!"
"She was about to and when she did I snapped her neck."
"You didn't give her a fair trial, why?"
Hades sighed, "I had a crazy ass woman lunging at me with a silver knife and you're asking me why I didn't give her a fair trial? You can't have a trial with a dead person."
Owen's eyes were black, "You took the love of my life from me." He stated coldly.
"I wouldn't have if she-
"YES YOU WOULD! Now I'm going to take your's."
I didn't have time to process it all; Hades shoved me onto the ground before I even saw him pull the trigger. When I was out of my daze I screamed.
Hades was laying on the ground with a bullet wound near his heart. Owen walked over and held up the gun again, before he could shoot I grabbed his wrist and pointed the gun at him.
"Say hey to your mate for me." I snarled before forcing him to pull the trigger.
The bullet went right between his eyes and through his skull. He fell to the ground, limp and non breathing.
I turned towards Hades and knelt beside him, gently laying his head in my lap. His eyes were wide as he looked at me, blood trickling down the side of his mouth.
Blood soaked his shirt and started to form a puddle on the ground; Hades turned towards me. Tears ran down his cheeks as he tried saying something.
"Hey, shhhh, you're okay." I whispered soothingly.
I screamed for help, hoping the pack could hear me through the trees. I was rewarded with howls and sighed in relief. However, as Hades started to close his eyes, I cupped his face.
"Hey, baby, stay with me! Please!" I begged him, my own tears streaming down my face.
"I-I'm s-s-sorry." He coughed. "I-I love..."
He never finished as his eyes closed. I sobbed loudly and applied more pressure on the wound as wolves surrounded me. Jackson tried prying me off, but I couldn't leave him.
"HADES!"
