I laid on the bed and stared at the TV, wishing I could train the pack with Hades right now. He left me with Jackson and two other warriors who had mates. I sighed, I've only been home for a day and I'm already bored out of my mind.
I glanced at the stack of darts and then looked at the dart board.
I smirked and grabbed one, surly Hades wouldn't mind.
"Yes!" I cheered.
"What are you doing?"
I looked over to see Hades leaning against the door, his arms folded across his chest and a smirk dancing upon his lips.
I smiled innocently, "Nothing."
"Well, it looks to me as if you're using my darts." He replied, walking over.
I shrugged, "I was bored."
He glanced at the board where only one dart was. He chuckled while shaking his head.
"Have you ever played darts?" He mused.
I shook my head, "Nope, thought I'd give it a try. I don't like it."
"Oh, really?"
"Yes, really. And could I have chocolate?"
He frowned as he went to pick up the darts.
"You already ate ten bars today." He sounded.
I pouted, "Chocolate is a pregnant woman's best friend."
"More live your cravings' best friend." He sighed. "Okay, but if I have one too don't attack me this time."
"I didn't attack you, I yanked your ear."
"It still hurt." He grumbled.
I grinned at him, "But you still love me."
He smiled, "That, I do."
After he cleaned all the darts up and I had my chocolate bar and ended up finishing his, we watched a movie. Of course I just had to pick Magic Mike, I knew it would annoy Hades.
All through the movie he glared at the screen, ranting about Channing Tatum not even looking that good.
I gasped, "Excuse me! He's hot!"
He flashed me a glare, "You're mine."
I rolled my eyes, "Please, I have no chance with him. He's human and I'm a werewolf. Plus, I already love you so..."
Hades smiled with pride, "Good." He then laughed and kissed my temple.
Once the movie was over we had dinner and then played a board game. When eleven o'clock came around I was exhausted. Hades was practically passing out already too.
"Goodnight, bitch." Hades chirped as he gently pulled me close.
"Goodnight...twat waffle."
"Seriously?"
"Okay, it's either twat waffle or fluffy asshole."
"Fine, twat waffle it is." He grumbled.
I smirked, "Okay..."
"...fluffy asshole."
"You are so lucky I love you." Hades whispered.
I grinned even wider, "I believe you're the lucky one. I could have killed you by now."
"You almost did the other night."
"How?"
"Your damn tits didn't give me any air to breathe!"
"Why was your face in my boobs anyway?"
"You literally grabbed me in your sleep and cuddled my head."
"Oh, I tend to do that."
"Yeah, I know."
I laughed before kissing him, "Goodnight, love you."
"Goodnight, love you too."
"....ah! Fluffy twat waffle!"
"Oh, come on!"
3 days later
"Hades, how did you set your hand on fire?" I asked as I gently wrapped his hand.
He swallowed, "It was Jackson's fault."
I looked over at Jackson who's mate was currently wrapping his leg.
"Was not! You decided to dump cold water onto it!" Jackson argued.
"I was panicking! You're the one who set the damn counter top on fire!"
Melody and I glanced at each other before looking at our mates.
Jackson sighed, "Good thing it'll be healed by next month."
"Why?" I asked.
Melody grinned before taking off her glove and showing me an amazing diamond ring.
"We're getting married!" She grinned.
"Oh my goddess, congratulations! I thought you were married already though." I replied.
Melody shrugged, "Court marriage. He didn't really propose to me either, we kind of agreed on it since we were mates. But I've been really wanting a wedding for a long time and he popped the question last night on our date." She explained.
I smiled, "Well, I'm happy for you two."
I could feel Hades watching me as I looked at her ring. It was so beautiful, Jackson has some good taste it seems. After they were wrapped Hades ended up passing out. Jackson laughed and told me he never handled burns well.
"He can handle blood and seeing bone or torn flesh, but not burns. Especially if it's him." Melody chuckled. "He's a weird guy, but he grows on you."
I nodded, "Trust me, I know. Why doesn't the pack show respect towards him though?"
A sad look crossed their features. "The whole
pack bullied him since the accident. He's had one hell of a childhood after the accident. He's attempted to...well, put it this way, he ended up in rehab.
After the third time Jackson and I told him he's the only thing we have left of an Alpha. Even though his father's Beta was a good fighter, he didn't have the pack's respect. He was a disgusting man and we all resented him. The pack just enjoyed Hades' sorrow because they blamed him for his parents dying." Melody explained.
I furrowed my eyebrows and glanced at Hades. He was currently laying on the bed, wrapped up in a blanket.
"Why didn't he tell me?" I whispered.
Melody gave me a sad smile, "He doesn't want you to worry even more or....see the real him. He's even more broken than you think."
I shook my head, "I'm always going to worry. He's my mate, my other half. It's not his fault he's like this..."
"We know, but he doesn't believe it. It's all in his head, but he will never leave you. He told me that." Jackson sounded.
I sighed and laid beside him, gently running my fingers through his hair. Melody and Jackson quietly left, closing the door behind them.
"Oh, Hades, what am I going to do with you?" I whispered.
I ran through the forest, not daring to run to my old pack. I can't live like this anymore, feeling unwanted. Why can't someone accept me for a change?
I sprinted out onto the ride and then into the forest. I shifted and ran alongside the road, following it to the town.
After an hour of running I stopped at the edge of town. My lungs burned, but I didn't care. I was free.
I quietly walked along the backyards of houses until I found clothing line. I snatched some clothes off and scurried back into the forest's shadows.
Once I was dressed and all I walked back to the front of town. I walked through the shadows until I doubled over in pain. My chest hurt like hell and my heart was beating a mile a minute.
What the hell is happening? My head spun, my lungs couldn't bring in air, and black spots dotted my vision.
I suddenly collapsed onto the ground as people surrounded me.
What is happening!?
"We're dying, Celina. Both our mates rejected us." My wolf weakly said.
"What? B-but...no....what is going to happen?"
"Goodbye, Celina."
"NO! Come back! Please! What's happening?"
I finally gave into the darkness, forever leaving the world and pain.
Hades' POV
She left. She left me and now she's going to die because of me. I followed her scent through the forest, needing to find her quickly.
I made it to the edge of town and ran in. I froze when I found her laying on the ground with people surrounding her.
I ran over and pushed through before kneeling beside her.
"Celina?" I whispered.
No answer. No pulse. No breathing.
"No no no...Celina! Please! No!" I cried out. "I'm sorry!"
"CELINA!"
I continued crying as people pulled me away. I tried breaking free but more people joined and held me back.
I struggled to break free as they carried her body away. No, no, this can't be happening.
I finally broke free from the people and ran into the forest. I shifted and continued running before crossing the road.
I froze as bright lights blinded me. I turned my head just in time to see the large truck smacking into me. I laid on the ground as the man climbed out and ran over.
"Damn, you're a big ass wolf!" He gasped.
I whimpered and pulled myself up before running off.
"Whoa! Get back here!" He shouted, but his voice faded.
I kept on running and running until I reached my special spot. I collapsed into the ground, panting and crying. I struggled to get up, the moment I stood again I fell down the hill.
My body fell into the cold water and sunk. I tried reaching the surface but I couldn't move my body. My bones wouldn't heal, I was losing blood, and my vision was starting to go black.
After a while I finally gave up. I closed my eyes and welcomed death with open arms.
