"So, my pack will come in last?" Victor asked.
My father nodded, "Yes."
"Well, then I guess it's set. We attack next week." Victor stated before standing up to leave.
He gently grabbed Christine's hand before turning towards Hades and I. He gave us a warm smile before leaving.
As the door closed I glanced at my father. He was back to massaging his temples and closing his eyes. I felt as if I needed to help him, but I shoved that feeling away. Did he ever help me when I was hurt? No, he never did. It took me running away for him to figure out how sorry he was. If he even is that sorry.
I climbed off Hades' lap and motioned for him to follow. We turned to leave, having nothing to say to the man.
Once we were out of the office I relaxed. Hades gently kissed my head before leading me down the hall.
"We're staying here till tomorrow morning." He explained.
I nodded, "Alright."
To say I was rather uncomfortable sitting with this pack for dinner would be an understatement. I absolutely loathed it. The pack would just give Hades and I a curious look. My sister and Dylan smiled at us, but I didn't return it. Andrew would glare at us, but wouldn't try to do anything. I grinned, he learned his lesson the last time.
My mother wouldn't sit anywhere near my father, instead, she sat in her room. I frowned, my parents' relationship is falling apart and my mom isn't trying to fix it. I can tell my father doesn't have the energy to, he barely ate his dinner. He seemed paler than earlier and was barely staying upright. But again, I didn't help him. I refused to.
Once I was able to lay down and go to bed I sighed. Hades laid beside me with his arms wrapped around my body. He planted soft kisses along my neck, but didn't speak. I didn't need him to, I just needed to think.
"I wonder if my mom is gong to reject my father." I blurted out.
Hades sat up a little and frowned, "Why?"
"I can tell she hades him."
"He injured one of her pups, that is something that is deemed unforgivable to a mother."
"It's not unforgivable, it just takes time. He'll need to prove that he's sorry, to her. But for me...it may be unforgivable." I whispered.
Hades sighed and laid down again, "Well, after this whole thing with Elvira you won't have to see or speak to him again."
"That would be nice." I sighed, closing my eyes.
"Hades, for the last time, that doesn't go there!" I argued, snatching the brush away from him.
He sighed, "Then where does it go?"
"Here."
I placed it in the right corner before continuing to do my hair. The whole time he gave me an annoyed look.
"A mate with OCD, fantastic." He groaned as he walked out.
I rolled my eyes at him, but didn't say anything back. I then walked out, searching for my phone. After the awkward breakfast with my father's pack this morning I was more than ready to leave. I packed my clothes, trying to be quick so we could leave.
I was panting by the time was I was done, being pregnant with triplets is hell. I snapped my head up as Hades burst through the door, slamming it shut behind him.
I furrowed my eyebrows, "You okay? You look like you've seen a ghost."
"No, I just saw three crazy girls chasing after me! Is everyone in this pack crazy?" He gasped.
I thought about it for an second before nodding. "Pretty much."
He sighed and shook his head, "The sooner we leave, the better."
I agreed with a nod of my head, glad that we were leaving.
I climbed into the car and sat down, motioning for Hades to hurry up. He hurried and threw the last suit case in. I relaxed as we drove away, no longer needing to be surrounded by awkwardness. Well, until we attack Elvira.
My dad decided we would attack in two days now. So, on Sunday our packs will meet at my dad's pack at six in the morning. Of course Hades isn't allowing me to go, stating that a pregnant woman shouldn't fight. I reluctantly agreed with him, knowing the babies' was more important.
When we arrived home I helped Hades as much as I could before grabbing something to eat. He chuckled at me as I plopped myself down and started stuffing my face with popcorn.
"Want some?" I asked.
He raised an eyebrow, but was soon sitting beside me eating. We spent the rest of the day relaxing and explaining the plan to the pack.
I sighed, Sunday is going to be hell.
I sighed as Hades trained the pack, preparing them for tomorrow. I was anything but excited for this, in all honesty, I just wanted to kill Elvira. I wasn't excited nor angry, just irritated with this whole ordeal. Why can't life be easy for once? No, it has to be filled with witches that are bitches and assholes that don't keep their mouths closed. The worst part is Andrew is fighting during the battle, the fear of him attacking Hades crawled through me. I didn't trust him at all, he left his fiance for some reason. I can't even remember if he told me or not, but oh well.
"Hey, you okay?" Melody asked as she sat beside me.
I sighed, "No, I'm annoyed with this. Why can't life be easy for once?"
Melody chuckled and handed me a mug of hot chocolate, "No matter how peaceful it can get, life will never be easy."
"I know, that's the sad truth."
"But it can be filled with joy!" she beamed.
I chuckled, "It can be...are you going into battle too?"
"Yes, I convinced Hades to let me."
"How?"
"I threatened him."
"With what?"
"Tickling."
I stared at her for a good four minutes before slowly looking at Hades. "Well..."
"He told me not to blame him for any of my injuries...so I said you would do it."
"That's just cruel."
She shrugged, "I know, but I don't care."
The rest of the day we prepared for the fight; the whole time the fear just grew. Hades kept me by his side, his arm wrapped around my waist. He planted multiple kisses on my cheek and lips, reassuring me that he would be okay. I just sighed and knew that I shouldn't doubt him, but the thought of Andrew sneaking up on him had me beyond worried.
That night I clung onto him as we slept, refusing to let go of him. I prayed and prayed that he would stay somewhat safe throughout this whole fight. That he would come back in one piece and reassure me that everything was fine.
I yawned as someone shook me awake, forcing me to open my eyes. I winced as the bright sun blinded me for a few moments. Once I could see again I looked over to see Hades grinning at me. I sighed and slowly sat up.
"It's Sunday..." I whispered.
He sighed and pulled me close, kissing me on the lips. "Yes, it is. But tonight we'll have a nice dinner and relax."
"Fine, but you are definitely surviving this. If you don't, I'm bringing you back to life and slapping the shit out of you." I mumbled.
He chuckled, "Sounds exciting."
"Not like that."
"Awe, I would expect something special for me."
I sighed and looked at him, "You are such a pain."
"I try."
"Just, promise me one other thing."
"Yes?"
"Stay away from Andrew and watch your back. I don't trust him."
"I already planned that."
I relaxed at this and hugged him, planting a kiss on his lips this time. After just being with each other we got dressed and walked downstairs. We were greeted by mates wishing each other goodbye, Warriors making sure everyone was ready, and multiple pack members crying. Children clung onto their parents, pleading with them to not leave.
My heart broke at the scene, but I kissed Hades goodbye and rushed everyone to the basement.
Once everyone was in I turned to watch the Warriors leave. Melody gave me an encouraging smile while Hades gave me a sorrowful look.
Without another word I walked into the basement and closed the doors.
