Chapter 33. Gladimir & Xavier are one!
Typing; ( “SOS! Summoning everyone to the mansion, now, heavily armed. Battle going on”) then he clicked on SEND...
I pretended like I didn't see him type the message, more to that I was thoughtful and worried about my life. I had never seen him fight before and he was about to engage in a big gun battle. There was no way I could stay calm.
For the first time, as we drove I saw the road leading to the mansion, Herpen-abort, as I looked through the window. I had always wished to see that fucken road all that white and yet when I finally did, I couldn't enjoy it because I was terrified. All I wanted at that moment was to get out of the car and run for my dear life.
A few meters away from the mansion, he glared at me straight into the eyes and said “Lift your legs” he asked me to lift my legs, which I did in shock. I was expecting something more romantic like what I always saw in movies, — something like a last-minute speech or confession, I don’t know but something personal.
He rolled over and riffles the rug. Beneath my seat were laying a few guns and bullets. My eyes widened in shock as I watched him pull them out. He brought out three pistols and he placed two of them on the seat just beside him and the other he placed on the empty front seat. I knew it was for the driver.
He glared at me coldly and asked “Do you know how to use a gun?". “Hell, no! I can't" I replied. “Then stay close to me" he ruled as he continued fixing his stuff. When he was done he signalled me to put my legs down and seat properly.
He stretched up his hands to the roof of the car, pressed a button and the inner roof of the car split into two revealing bulletproof vests which were well arranged. I was flabbergasted. I mean he was well prepared as if he knew that it was going to happen.
He took a few as he handed two over to me, he collected two for himself and gave the other two to the driver, who was still driving. I collected the two bulletproof vests he handed over to me and put them on immediately.
Close to the mansion, we could hear a series of gun shoots. “Stop here!" he said to the driver and the driver immediately trod on the brake. “Waiting for back up" he added to the driver. And within a few minutes, the backup arrived in five red armour cars.
He moved out of the car with the driver while I remained in. He marched forward to the mansion with his troops. They all had guns of all sorts. Two of his armed men remained behind to watch over me.
As they got to the mansion, they saw sets of people shooting from every angle targeting Mark and his men and now Gladimir since he joined them.
“Fire" Gladimir shouted and gun shoots filled the room. Destroying everything on their way as they moved to other parts of the house as they were running away from flying bullets. Gladimir’s men were fierce as they hunted every single opposer down without any mercy.
“Cease the fire" Gladimir screamed “gather them here! Five of you go around the house and make sure it’s saved. Check everywhere!” he ruled as he moved to where the gathered his foes, confidently. They were about three that survived.
“Who sent you!” he asked one of those men but he said nothing anything. That pissed Gladimir so he shot him a bullet right into his head and he fell to the ground with blood splashing all over him.
“Take care of them. Make sure they speak by every means necessary” he looked, around furiously “And clean the mess around here!” with that said, he walked inside the mansion and they were dead bodies all over with those of his men along. He had lost a few men as compared to the attackers. Mark was injured so he was taken care of by the other men.
At some point he forgot about me, that was what I thought deep within me as I impatiently waited in the car. Suddenly a man walked towards the car, he opened the door and faced me saying “The boss is for you!”. I was worried because I had never seen him before.
I came out of the car and followed the man into the mansion. On our way in were dead bodies littered all over and the floors were all red. That rendered me nauseated and I had to throw up on the dead body of someone I didn't even know. Omg, that was so awful. I felt so bad and guilt was summering my entire being.
On my way, I saw Nanny Clara and Mark were badly injured but they were been taken care of.
It was clear that whatsoever Gladimir was into was dirty. If not, why didn't he report that to the police? Why did Nanny Clara tell me not to call him Gladimir in public, meanwhile everyone around the mansion called him like that?
A couple of minutes later, a few health crew came and took care of all those who were wounded. Gladmir stayed in the living room as he watched the doctor and his assistants work.
I was there as he called, but still, he didn't have my time. He looked fierce as usual yet I could feel that he was super worried. How I wished I could be of help to him, in vain. I wasn't needed and he made it clear to me from the moment we stepped back into the mansion. He didn't even look at me, it was like I wasn't existing and that shit hurt me. I couldn't bare the sight of blood so I had to go to the bedroom.
As soon as I got in, I hurried to the bathroom to have my bath. I took off the red gown I had on before stepping into the bathroom as I moved directly under the shower. I closed my eyes and allowed every drop of water to fall freely on my body as I got lost in my thoughts. In my thoughts, I could still see all that I had witnessed from the car.
The blood and brutality made me shudder out of my deepest thoughts and I moved out of the bath shivering in fear. I moved to the room while wiping my body with a white towel, which I gripped from the bed. I checked the closet and brought out a nightgown which I wore immediately and I went to bed.
I lay in bed, in a fetal position. I was still shivering. With all that I had witnessed the fear, I had for Gladimir increased. I couldn't erase all that I saw him and his men do. I tried to sleep before he starts searching for me because I didn't even have the strength to look him straight into his eyes.
Gladimir had nothing to do with the Xavier I discovered when we w in town. I preferred his other version. Unfortunately, I guess I had to deal with both versions because only a fool will deny that both ain't one... “Damn, Aria, don't be a fool” I yelled at myself.
I tried sleeping, but I ended up rolling in bed from side to side. I had never witnessed that before, I thought and fear engulfed me. I just didn't know what to do. My mind and brain were messed up.
I thought coming to the room and staying in the bed would have made me feel better or less guilty but I was wrong. Instead, it worsened the situation. They say; an idea mind is the devil’s workshop. Indeed, that is true. I felt like the devil was playing with my mind. So I decided to go to the pool which was at the back of the mansion to clear my head.
I walked out of my room and moved straight to the pool. I sat on the rim of the pool with my two legs inside the water. It was very cold. I got lost in my thoughts with different stuff running through my mind. Firstly it was about school then later it was about my safety. The mansion wasn't a safe place for me anymore.
“What if I'm the next target? Will Gladmir be able to protect me from his many unknown enemies? Will, he always be there on time?”
