Chapter 11 - Pitiful Gaze
CELESTINA VILLARAMA’s POV
Ice’s eyes were filled with rage, which I know for sure that I can not control. The red aura of his that I assumed was because of his affection for me was now mixed up with how vexed he was with what I said. “I-Ice? What’s the matter?” I asked as carefully as I could. I didn’t even notice that my feet were unconsciously walking backwards, as if my wolf was the one who’s already telling me that I should head out of this place and run as far as I could, just to stay away from his range.
“Was there anyone else other than me who promised to protect you, no matter what the cost would be?” Ice repeated the same sense of his query from earlier. “I’ll be counting from one to three, Celestina Villarama. If you would not be able to give me a response within the said time frame, then I’m sorry—”
“It’s Kristoffer… The Crimson Moon Pack’s Beta, Kristoffer Wong!” I answered in a state of panic.
I observed how Ice’s breathing pattern returned to normal when I mentioned my previous pack’s beta’s name. “Kristoffer Wong, huh…” he whispered to himself.
“Do you know him?”
“I already told you yesterday that I have no connection or whatsoever with that pack of yours,” he coldly replied as he excessively heaved out a loud sigh.
It’s fortunate that Ice could manage to calm himself down after hearing whatever would satisfy him. If my answer couldn’t have calmed him down even for a while, then I don’t think that I would have been able to survive if he went berserk there. The power of wolves still scares me up to this point, as I am still unable to unleash my full potential.

When all has been set to place, Ice led the way to their underground facility. The surroundings were almost the same as the one that I went through before. However, the fact that there were considerably a lot of people who are training unlike back there was kind of remarkable for me. I guess that this would be a more efficient background than the Crimson Moon Pack. Most of them were covered in armor while the ones that they had as opponents were almost naked.
“Are their bodies seducing you?” Ice asked out of the blue which caught me off guard, making my face blush.
If only I didn’t owe Ice anything, then I would have knocked him down. “I was just stunned. I didn’t expect that there’d be a lot of people here. I thought that it would only be the two of us who would be training here,” I sincerely said.
There was no point in lying since I really wasn’t engaged or attracted with any of their physical builts. It was as if I have been numb to the feeling of getting luscious with other people’s appearance, which isn’t from my mate.
‘But your supposed to be mate, Siege Wong, doesn’t feel the same way towards you.’
“Shut up,” I blurted out loud, instantly grabbing Ice’s attention. “N-no, I wasn’t talking to you…” I bowed my head and stared at my own feet in embarrassment.
Ice raised one of his eyebrows and stared at me with a bit of confusion in his eyes. “Then, are you possibly talking to your wolf, the one that you mentioned which you can’t release yet?” he asked, then I simply nodded my head once as a reply. “That’s quite odd. I still haven’t encountered someone who has the same experience as you do, and I don’t think that Lucas did as well. From the moment that I first entered this realm, I was already able to transform myself to whichever form that I wanted, for as long as I had the capabilities to do so.”
I placed my hand on the bronze statue that was displayed over the wooden desk. "You're making it sound like you came from another world," I mumbled with a short laugh to make him less suspicious of me.
"T-t-that's impossible," he stuttered, as if he's trying to hide something from me.
"I know, right? There's no way that another world or another set of realms actually exists. I don't even believe in gods and goddesses, even if I've already met one before."
Ice’s aura flared up as he heard the last part of my statement. “You’ve already communicated with a god or a goddess before?”
As soon as I was about to give him a response, everyone started to make some noise which made it quite unbearable for my ears to perceive. I held onto the sides of my head to cover both of my ears as hard as I could. It felt like my brain was beginning to crumble into fragments when the roaring and deafening noise still hadn't stopped.
The delta quickly grabbed my waist and carried me behind his back as he slowly fixed my arms to encircle in between his neck. “Are you okay?” he asked.
“I’d be lying if I told you that I was fine,” I whispered to his ear since my face was only a few centimeters away from him. “What was that about?” It was my turn to ask.
Ice made sure that I’d be able to land on the ground without any difficulties, even if it would cause him harm. He brought me over to the second floor of the same underground facility. It was spacious, so it’s not that unimaginable how there were a lot of floors despite being constructed only for the purpose of having some place to train on.
“It’s the pack members’ usual way of greeting the alpha in the morning even if he’s far away. We share the same senses since we’ve been connected to bond together as one. We can also determine once someone is about to betray our pack or if anyone has a different perspective from us. Lucas doesn’t want those kinds of people to be under his supervision, which is why whenever someone possesses those certain emotions which are negative for Lucas, he would do whatever it takes to dispose of them,” Ice explained.
Ice was the Silver Moon Pack’s delta, he has a lot of reputation to take proper guidance of. But, based on the expression while he was saying those words, I couldn’t help but to stare deeply into his eyes and get the feeling that he doesn’t want to belong in this pack anymore.
I pity Ice’s situation and knowing that I wouldn’t be able to do anything to help him just sucks…
