Chapter 27 - The Omega
CELESTINA VILLARAMA's POV
There wasn't any kind of celebration as I assumed. We were instructed by the alpha to directly move on with the training for this day and head over to his office after we're done. Come to think of it, the way that he approached me was totally different compared to the first time. It's like he has already forgotten the rage that he had every single time that he would see my resemblance with Sarina. Or maybe he's just forcing himself to, because I wasn't even related to the moon goddess.
"Which would you prefer in actual combat, Celestina?" Ice broke the silence between us, which ruined the thoughts that were running in my mind. "There are a lot of options that you can choose from, there's no need to rush with your decision. You can still give each one of those a try to test if the item you've chosen really fits and suits you," he added.
There are a variety of bows and arrows that are on top of a white cloth.
Guns that even those who haven't gone to a shooting class can hold. There were also some shotguns, rifles, and even snipers that were on the other side. The table was red in color, maybe to specify the difficulty of handling the weapons.
The ones placed on a yellow fabric were scythes of various designs and lengths, which were also accompanied with daggers, lengthy swords, and some metal chain that has a heavy, pointed iron on its edge.
The table that was tinted with blue hue was filled with sorcerer's items and talismans, which I would probably not be able to use as I don't have those types of powers that can manipulate magic at will.
"These are all interesting," I whispered to myself. Although, there was actually a certain weapon that caught my attention... and it was no other than the scarlet scythe on the yellow table.
Ice glanced at the direction where I was looking. "You're into heavy things?" he asked, surprised.
I came closer to its location and when I was about to touch it, someone else already grabbed it. "Yes, it's still here!" said a woman who seemed to have a connection with me.
She had shorter hair than mine, black in color, and it only reached above the level of her shoulders. There wasn't anything special about her physical appearance, she's a common one.
"Excuse me, I was about to get that," I tried to get her attention.
The woman gazed upon me from head to toe, her eyes were definitely judging me. "Who are you? I don't see you around the mansion. Are you an intruder or a spy from the other pack?" She questioned my identity. "Ice, long time no see!" She jumped to her delight, then gave him a hug with a slight peck on his cheeks.
My veins appeared on the corner of my forehead when I saw what she did right in front of me. I couldn't contain my sudden burst of emotion, which led me to automatically push her away with all of my strength.
"W-what's with you?!" she screamed, making her voice crack.
My eyebrows furrowed at the same time that I was panting for breath. "Don't you dare get near him ever again," I warned her, without even knowing who she was either. She had this gaze on me that tells me that I should be the one who should be careful around her. "Who are you?" I inquired, hoping that what I did actually turned the tables.
The woman stood firmly after fixing her attire and as well as some strands of her hair. As she was about to open her mouth, supposedly to give me a reply, someone else answered for her.
"That's Stella, an omega of our pack. The two of you still haven't met, I believe," Lucas spoke from the other side of the table. He coped up with touching each one of it while his eyesight was directed on us.
"A-Alpha Lucas!" Stella hurried to bow her head to pay respect to their alpha.
"Ah, is that so?" I mumbled.
I tried my best not to make it obvious how her name was also ringing a bell to my mind. We must have met during our childhood years, but that would be entirely impossible... She's not someone from the human world.
"That scythe belongs to her. Pick something else or ask Ice for assistance. Stella doesn't want anyone claiming her possession, especially if it's dear to her. And also, if she knows that there's no one else who can actually control the scythe better than she does," Lucas explained why Stella didn't want me to get what's rightfully hers.
"It's an honor that such tiny details were remembered by the alpha," Stella mumbled to herself.
I frowned when I saw that there wasn't any other weapon that captivated my attention just like how that scarlet scythe did.
"You're sulking?" Ice suppressed his laughter. "We have an option to forge and enhance one of those scythes according to your liking. Don't fret since it'll still look exactly like how Stella's scythe is," he tried to cheer me up while holding onto my left shoulder.
"Y'all seem to be close with her already. Did I miss something?" Stella asked, her voice mixed with confusion. From the way that she asked, she's most probably the type of omega who doesn't get left out of important updates that circulate within their pack.
Ice placed his hand above my head to mess with my hair. "She's a newcomer, Celestina Villarama. After she's done with training and some documents, the alpha will be the one to decide which rank would best fit her skills and as well as her intellectual capabilities," he said. Ice then told me to get a weapon and just as planned, I claimed a scythe from the yellow table and gave it to him. It surely was heavy to lift.
Stella had the same expression written on her face right after hearing my name. She must have remembered who I was or she's merely in the same situation as me.
"Ah, really? Then, it's unfortunate for her that she has to win against me first if she pursues being a scythe user before she gets promoted to being one of us," Stella uttered as she faced the other direction, then began to walk away.
I tightly gripped onto the edge of my clothes as I thought how I wasn't ready to battle with her yet.
