Chapter 72 - The Commotion
CELESTINA VILLARAMA'S POV
The three of us went to the Crimson Moon Pack's territories without anyone getting in our way. Unlike when it was only Lucas and me, the pack warriors and guards just easily let us pass the gates, which made me wonder if the Luna ceremony was already finished as Ace strictly protected the mansion from being infiltrated.
"Why do you keep on looking around?" Ice asked.
I wasn't supposed to give him a response since Leo was also with us, but I had no choice; I couldn't ignore him. "Everyone seems to be so obedient, unlike earlier. All of them fought with us and didn't even let a finger of mine pass through the gates. So I'm just anxious about their sudden change."
"Someone probably ordered them to let us in. It's either Kris or Siege himself," Leo uttered, which kind of made sense to me if both of them were already expecting that I'd go back here for the third time, even after saying that we'd retreat.
A few minutes later, we were already in the lobby of the mansion, but no one bothered to greet us or inquire about our presence. The equipment and designs that were used for the last practice weren't removed. They would probably hold the official Luna ceremony in the same place.
"It took you a long time to return, Celestina," Kris said as he showed himself coming out of the storage room. "I didn't think that you'd come with Leo. Are the two of you already on good terms or what?" he asked out of pure curiosity, raising a brow as he halted in front of us.
I shrugged my shoulders. "Not really. It's just that we have something that we have to deal with that needs each of our support."
"Don't listen to her. She's soon to be my mate and the pack's Luna, so it's not questionable how and why we're suddenly close with each other, Kris. Unless you don't want to see us," Leo responded, which was quite different from what I answered.
The beta, Kris, glared at me with such a deadly gaze. "Is that true?"
I immediately shook my head. "Leo's joking."
"You don't have to turn me down this quickly, Celestina. You're going to hurt my feelings for good," Leo mumbled, faking a laugh. "Where's your brother? Is he together with Stella?"
Kris nodded. "They're waiting for Celestina at his office. Siege ordered me to fetch you," he said without removing his gaze from me. "They're assuming that you'd be kind enough to give them your blessing as Stella is your sister, and she's going to be Siege's Luna," he added.
Ice had nothing to say to Kris. The two only looked at each other for a few seconds, and none of them bothered to speak, making it quite awkward for the rest of us. Nevertheless, we decided to walk upstairs and head over to the alpha's office.
"Get inside," Siege said from the other side of the door.
I was the one who pulled the door open, and we crossed the door's threshold one after another. I saw Stella sitting pretty on the chair that was nearest to the alpha's table. She had her legs crossed, and even both of her arms were crossed and placed above her thigh.
"I heard that you were with Siege when I was conducting my practice speech, Celestina. What were you doing with him? Or rather, what did the two of you talk about?" Stella gawked at me with her body slightly turned to face our way.
I glanced at Siege, contemplating whether I should actually tell the truth to my sister or lie about it, since I have no idea if Siege did tell her about it already or not. I was hoping to receive some sort of sign from him, but he chose to look away from me.
Or maybe that itself was the sign that I was yearning for.
I marched towards the chair, opposite from where she was, then sat on it, and was followed by Ice and Leo. Kris stood right beside Siege's table and remained there like he was some sort of guard.
"I see that Siege refuses to tell you what happened between us, huh?" I smirked, holding in my laughter when I saw how her ears turned red out of humiliation.
I know damn well how it feels to be humiliated right in front of everyone. She probably thought highly of herself, and now she embarrassed herself by indirectly saying that Siege didn't want to let her know about everything he does.
"I-I'm just testing whether you'd tell me the truth or not! Don't act like you know Siege that well," Stella said, but I know that she only said that to act like she actually knew about it.
Ice nudged me with his elbow, so I turned my head to him and raised an eyebrow, giving him a confused look. He pouted his lips in the direction of the alpha, causing me to instantly look at Siege.
And he was staring deeply at me.
If only I still had the capability to mind-link with him, then I would've already read what was on his mind and whatever it was that he wanted to say to me.
"What do you want, Siege? Have you finally made up your mind to cancel all of this?" I mumbled, which made Stella yell my name, but I didn't pay her any attention.
The alpha leaned his back at the same time that he heaved out a deep breath. "Things wouldn't end up too well, Celestina. I won't take back the words I said to you that time. You mustn't forget that," he replied instead of giving me a direct answer of yes or no.
Siege only made me recall that he didn't want to see Stella get hurt because of me. I glanced at my sister, who had this glowing look on her face. For some reason, it made me feel a mix of emotions.
If I didn't have any sort of connection with the alpha, whom she was about to raise a family with, then I would definitely be the first to congratulate her for finding the perfect man for her. But since I was supposed to be in her shoes, I couldn't stop myself from getting jealous and dissatisfied with my current situation.
"I'm sorry, but I can't fulfill your desires, Alpha Siege Wong," I said with genuine respect at the same time that I rose from my seat and stepped in front of Stella's position. "You have no intention to stop stealing everything that's mine, do you?" I looked at her without turning my head down, so it would seem like I was looking down at her existence itself.
Stella scoffed, brushing her fingers on her hair backwards. "Siege was never yours to begin with. If you're going to end up blabbering that you're cursed by the Moon Goddess, then go cry about it to her. You're born to be unfortunate; I have nothing to do with that," she said, not thinking of backing down.
I bit my lip, trying to stop myself from doing whatever was on my mind, but the urge to pull her hair was stronger. I picked thin strands of her hair, then pulled it as hard as I could. Her face immediately turned red, and her veins popped out from her forehead, letting me know that she was in pain.
"L-let go of me, bitch!" Stella screamed as I continuously tried to rip her hair apart from her head. "Let go!" she repeated, but I still chose to do it harder.
"Are you going to let her go, or would you like me to do the same to you, Celestina Villarama?" Siege said with such an authoritative tone; he was seriously agitated by what I did.
