Before I even opened my eyes, I had a satisfied grin on my face, which unfortunately disappeared again when I realized that I was alone in my bed.
I rolled onto my back and looked up at the ceiling where I could make out rays of sun sneaking through my dark curtains.
Before I could even think about where he was, my door opened and a smiling Kiyan came over to my bed, bowl in hand.
"I didn't want to wake you up," he held out the bowl to me, but I looked past him at my door with concern.
"Where is my mother?"
"They drove off together earlier. I have no idea where to go," he replied and, knowing that I was alone with him, I sat up and immediately felt his scrutinizing gaze on me. Despite the last night, he still made me totally nervous with his looks and slowly the blush found its way back to my cheeks.
"Why so nervous?" he asked amusedly, tucking my hair behind my ear. I wanted to vanish into thin air at that moment, because the memory of his hand on my mouth, my moaning and his touch came back to me and only made me stare embarrassed into the bowl of cereal on my lap.
"I'm not nervous," I then whispered and he immediately took my chin in his hand and looked me intently in the eye.
"What's the matter then? You seem so distraught... Did I do something wrong?" he asked and immediately I took his hand from my chin and clasped it in mine.
"No, of course not. It was really..."
I couldn't find the words.
"Horny?" he grinned triumphantly and I immediately glared at him.
"It's more like beautiful," I explained and then had to smile again because of his dimples. "It's just that that was my first experience of something like that."
His dimples and grin disappeared as quickly as they came and he just stared at me in disbelief.
"Are you serious?" he suddenly let go of my hand and stood up abruptly. What was the matter with him now?
"If I had known that, I certainly wouldn't have done that," he said and I put the bowl on the bedside table to be on the safe side, otherwise I would throw it at his head.
"Why not? Do I have to have laid a thousand guys to be considered a woman?" I raised my voice and stood up to stand in front of him angrily. Was I not desirable because of my lack of experience?
"I didn't mean it like that," he came closer and pulled me into a tight hug. "Only I would have given you more time and wouldn't have attacked you like that," he whispered in my ear and when I snuggled up to his chest and calmly listened to his heart, I also heard the front door slam shut at the same time.
We immediately broke apart and I hurriedly sat down on my bed to pick up the bowl and pretend I'd been eating all along.
"Well there," my mother came into the room and immediately opened my window, only to stare at me and Kiyan curiously for a long time.
I broke my gaze from her and unobtrusively took a spoonful of the muesli, making my mouth clench in a disgusting way. I immediately spat out the milk and wasn't even aware of what Kiyan had put in my food until I looked at him and he just grinned stupidly.
"There are people who like salt with something sweet," he suddenly laughed and I had to laugh so heartily that I even forgot my mother for a brief moment, who just looked at us and shook her head.
"You could help out around the house instead of just spreading nonsense here!" she hissed annoyed and then disappeared back into the hallway, of course she left my door open, which I didn't even blame her for.
"Thanks for the delicious breakfast," I looked lovingly at Kiyan and he also gave me a beautiful smile.
"Always happy little ones."
One last look and he then also left my room to leave me and my permanent grin alone. How could he wrap me around his fingers like that? Sometimes he was so far away, then so close again, then funny and then again cool and distant ... but maybe that roller coaster ride was exactly what attracted me to him.
I grabbed my cell phone and realized with amazement that both Juline and Micah must have sent me hundreds of messages and I quickly felt bad for having forgotten them for so long.
I hastily jumped up and grabbed an old pair of faded jeans and a white top to match the warm sun and closed my door to change in peace.
A quick visit to the bathroom, a thorough brushing of my teeth and a good comb through my wavy brown hair and I was about to make my way to Micah's, who Juline was with, but was stopped at the front door by my mother.
"How would it be if you would first sit down and explain to me what happened to you yesterday?"
She raised an eyebrow, crossed her arms and looked at me intently.
"It was nothing," I tried to calm her down and was about to turn the handle down, but then she came towards me with quick steps.
"That didn't look like nothing. Was something wrong with Micah? I saw his tongue pierced. This slob isn't good company for you."
I glared at her angrily and then saw behind her Kiyan, who was leaning on the kitchen island with a light-colored t-shirt and dark jeans and watching us both in our discussion.
"It wasn't Micah," I ground out angrily. How could she speak of my best friend like that after all she had done. It made me incredibly angry.
"Mia," she said, putting her hands on my shoulders. "I'm just worried about you. Where are you going anyway?"
"To Micah," I gave her back shortly and turned away from her to open the front door. Before I fled from this madman, my gaze met Kiyans again, who suddenly stared at me in amazement.
What was their damn problem anyway?
"Hey," greeted a beaming Juline standing next to Micah in his hallway. "Are you feeling better?" she asked me immediately, looking me up and down. Apparently Micah had already told her all about my breakdown.
"Yeah, and thanks again for reassuring me," I turned to Micah, who pulled me into his arms with a smile that really made my day.
When the two then ran ahead of me into the kitchen, I followed them with an absolutely satisfied feeling. Finally we were reunited and finally I could tell them everything in peace. But before I could start with all the news, I took a closer look at Micah in his red sweater and suddenly thought that maybe I shouldn't tell him about Kiyan after all. I still didn't really know what he felt and didn't want to hurt him.
"So, what was going on?", the curious blonde snapped me out of my chaos and stared at me almost impatiently.
"I still do with my parents. It was just too much. Add to that the piercing and-"
"You too?" She interrupted me in shock and searched me with her blue eyes. I stood in front of her with a grin and pulled my top up a bit, which made her look at us both with a smile, but also with disappointment. "You could have taken me with you."
"Next time," Micah said, still lisping horribly, but luckily not as badly as the day before.
"I'm definitely not going to that shabby hell anymore," I interjected immediately, just rolling my eyes at the thought of Zayn. If Juline knew he lived there, she'd probably rush right in.
"How's everything going with Kiyan anyway?" she suddenly asked me and then raised an eyebrow provocatively. I hoped my cheeks wouldn't blush and tried to look cool.
"It's okay. He's more of the quiet type," I replied and she suddenly looked at me in surprise.
"I meant, did you get the brown-haired guy's number," she then laughed and Micah immediately looked at me questioningly.
"She means Zayn," I informed him annoyed, and his gaze darkened as he leaned his back against the silver fridge.
"You can't be serious," he warned Juline and I looked at her intently too.
"The guy is just arrogant and spiteful," I tried to explain to her, but she just looked back and forth between the two of us in amusement.
"Guys! I'm just having fun, not a relationship, so calm down and get his number straight to me," she laughed. Typical Juline. She wasn't a shy virgin like me and ever since I met Kiyan I wished I could be a little tougher like her.
"Have fun with the shhhhpacko then," Micah rolled his eyes while we girls giggled at his cute lisp.
"I'll have that," she winked, and then she told us the details of the trip with her parents. She had really missed a lot, even though she was only gone for a few days. Who would have thought that suddenly someone like Kiyan would walk into my life and turn everything upside down? I certainly don't.
While the two then changed the subject and talked about some party tonight, my mind wandered back to last night. I saw him in front of me, his indescribably beautiful smile, his deep brown eyes, his...
"Mia?" I was touched by Juline on the arm and jumped in shock. "What's there to grin about?" she then asked me curiously and I just shook my head in embarrassment.
"I was thinking about a movie," I lied to her, trying to be believable.
"Must be a great movie," she laughed and then looked at me questioningly again. "So what do you say to that?"
"For what reason?"
"Where are you with your thoughts? We just discussed that we put together for Cody's present. It's his birthday tomorrow and he's celebrating tonight," she explained and I just looked at her confused. She didn't even know him, why should she go to his birthday party?
"You don't even know him," I said my thoughts out loud and she immediately looked at Micah.
"He invited me and said I should bring you with me," he explained to me and then ran out of the kitchen to run up the stairs in the hallway.
"Zayn's going to be there, too, don't you think?" Juline turned to me, and I forgot that she really didn't know him at all.
"Why would he come? Zayn disses Cody every free minute and I'll be honest, I don't really want to see Zayn either," I retorted, and she just grinned stupidly.
"You could invite Kiyan and he can bring Zayn," she suggested.
"I don't just invite people to someone else's birthday party. Besides, I hardly have any contact with Kiyan."
She suddenly laughed softly, playing with a strand of my hair.
"I know Micah hasn't seen it yet," she whispered, pushing my hair aside to get a little closer to me. "You've got a hickey and you're really trying to tell me that Kiyan is the quiet type?" she giggled, then pushed my hair back neatly.
My eyes widened immediately and I suddenly felt uncomfortable and caught. Not from Juline, I would tell her everything, but how would Micah react? Of course it was none of his business and he was just a friend, but still I was kinda scared of losing him if he found out that way.
Almost in panic I looked at Juline, who just grinned stupidly and was obviously happy about my new experiences.
"We can," Micah reappeared in the kitchen and I hardly dared to turn to him.
"Can I wear one of your sweaters?" I then asked him, tossing all my long hair forward.
"Sure, go upstairs and help yourself," he said with a smile and I ran past him up the stairs and tore open his closet.
Perfect...
A black hoodie with something written on the back, which I didn't pay any attention to. I put it on, took a quick look at myself in his closet mirror and then had to smile happily at the mark on my neck, which I then tried to hide under the sweater that was too big for me, which luckily worked well for me.
