With an absolutely queasy feeling in my stomach, I watched excitedly as first Zayn, then Micah, and then Mandy and Cody climbed over the high fence at the swimming pool and apparently had no fear or doubts about this action.
"Would you like me to help you?" Kiyan asked me and I looked at him briefly, only to avoid his gaze again immediately. I wasn't prepared at all for something like this here and I was really scared of getting caught, but I didn't want to be a fun killer.
"I'll be fine," I said confidently, then took a deep breath to climb over the fence like a monkey on sleeping pills.
Kiyan came over right after me, but I didn't pay him any attention. The view that awaited me after a few bushes was far too beautiful.
The hot water of the spa was steaming and the lights in the pool made this phenomenon look just beautiful under the clear night sky. I probably just stood there for a while and watched everything in peace while Micah and Zayn already stripped down to their boxer shorts.
"I'd better leave my t-shirt on then," Cody said, looking at her trained upper body, whereupon Mandy, who was standing next to me, just shook her head.
"I'm sure there's nothing to be ashamed of," she put her hand on Cody's shoulder, who then smiled and took off his shirt.
She was right. Even though he didn't look fit at all, there was absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.
He jumped into the water with the other two and then only the three of us were left.
"Are you coming?" Mandy said and suddenly took off her top and jeans to slowly walk towards the steaming water with only her black underwear and red bra.
"If you're staring at her, it'll be the last thing you see!" Zayn immediately said, staring at Cody.
"Zayn!" Mandy called out in warning and then carefully sat down on the edge of the pool to slide into Zayn's arms.
"Let's go then," I said quietly and took off my cardigan to then clasp my t-shirt, but Kiyan suddenly grabbed my hand.
"You leave the t-shirt on," he whispered in my ear and I looked over at him questioningly, whereupon he undressed himself on top and I took my breath away again.
This body!
"But you're allowed to show yourself like that?" I then asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm sure nobody's staring at me here and I don't like Micah and Cody looking at you like that," he explained, taking off his jeans at the same time.
"Should I go into the water with a t-shirt and jogging pants?" I asked him in disbelief and his eyes immediately fell on my ass.
"I'd love that," he smirked, pulling my hips in to kiss me gently. "But the t-shirt is long enough to cover everything, so leave it on," he then whispered decisively and I did what he just asked for, rolling my eyes, and then walking with him to the pool.
The others enjoyed the warm water, chatted excitedly about the beautiful view while I sat on the edge of the pool and Kiyan jumped into the water next to me.
He appeared in front of me, shook his head to squirt the water out of his black hair and then looked at me with a smile, showing off his dimples again, before he swam towards me and put his hands on my legs.
"Don't you want to go in?" he asked, running a hand through his wet hair while I stared at the tattoos on his chest.
"Yes," I said, broke my gaze and then let him lift me into the water.
As his eyes locked on mine, I wrapped my legs around his waist and wrapped my arms around his shoulders, then snuggled even closer to him in the warm water.
I rested my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes for a while, listening to the sound of the water and his calm, even breathing.
His hands rested on my buttocks and it grew quieter around me. I stopped hearing the others talking, only took the two of us seriously and was even convinced that he, too, had closed his eyes to enjoy this moment.
"Are you alright?" he then asked me and when I opened my eyes and wanted to answer him, I suddenly looked over his shoulders straight into Micah's green eyes, who looked at me with an expression that held me spellbound for a moment.
"Mia?" Kiyan asked and I winced slightly, tearing myself away from Micah's gaze and raising my head to look at Kiyan closely.
"Yes, I'm fine," I answered him and then saw his smile, which immediately made me breathe calmingly.
For the next two hours we chatted with the others, enjoying the warm water and I tried to block Micah out completely. Maybe Kiyan was right about man and woman not being friends. At least from Micah's looks it didn't feel like he saw me as a friend, which made me really uncomfortable.
"Shall we go slowly? The time window to sneak in at home is getting narrower and narrower," Mandy said after a while and Zayn immediately grinned stupidly.
"My pants are getting tighter and tighter at the sight of you," he whispered and was immediately pressed under the water by Mandy's head.
"Don't you think he has a better view of everything down there?" Kiyan grinned at her and for the first time I saw the blonde blush.
"I didn't think about that," she giggled sheepishly, letting Zayn reappear, still grinning stupidly.
"Then let's go," he said and pulled Mandy behind him to the edge of the pool to help her out.
Micah, Cody, and Kiyan climbed out too, and as Kiyan gathered our clothes, Micah squatted on the edge of the pool and gave me his hand.
"I can do this on my own," I murmured clumsily, using the edge to push myself up, but before I could fall back down, Micah grabbed my arm and pulled me out, stopping just in front of me to rub me up and down to muster.
The black shirt clung tightly to my body from the water and I looked up into his eyes in embarrassment. It was the same situation as back then in the swimming pool and without me wanting it, he held my arm for far too long.
"Thanks," I then said quietly, releasing my arm from his hand to face Kiyan, who was still busy getting dressed.
"I'm always happy," Micah said, then turned around and walked to his clothes.
"As always, the excitement here on the waterfront is not recommended," Cody whispered and walked up to me while I glared at him angrily.
"There is no tension from my side," I told him honestly, and then ran to Kiyan, who handed me my clothes.
When we got to Kiyan's car, the others said goodbye and Zayn gave us his key because he still wanted to take Mandy home.
Soaked through, I climbed into the passenger seat and flopped onto the black leather, then looked over at Kiyan, who started the car and drove off.
After a few minutes of silence, he took a deep breath, drawing my attention back to him.
"Between you and Micah, is there anything you don't want to admit to yourself?"
I immediately shook my head and put my hand on his arm. "No, really not, at least not from my side," I answered immediately and I was completely serious too. I was full of love, but for him, not for Micah and I hoped he would believe me too.
"Okay," he smiled, glancing over at me for a moment and then taking my hand, which was still on his arm, to blow a kiss on it.
I didn't want him to distrust me, but it felt nice to know he was jealous too.
"I love you," he then breathed as we parked in front of Zayn's prefab building, leaning in to take my chin and kiss me passionately.
A warmth immediately flooded through me that put the water of the swimming pool in the shade. A wave of madness swept through my abdomen and I pulled his neck slightly toward me, eager for more.
"Me too," I breathed as we reluctantly parted and eyed each other intensely until he smiled and averted his gaze to get out. I did the same and together we made our way to Zayn's apartment.
"Are you still hungry? Then I would go to the gas station again."
I shook my head and then yawned profusely, which he seemed to enjoy. He unlocked the door, pushed it open, and let me in first.
Before I reached the living room through the narrow hallway, I heard a voice that immediately made me clench my fists.
Chloe was sitting on the couch with Adam and had my folder in her hand, which she immediately put back on the table facing me.
"There you are," she said, playing friendly, and got up hastily to come towards me. "I'm here to apologize. Especially to you Mia."
I stared at her face in confusion and then felt a hand on mine. "Get out!" Kiyan hissed at her and pulled my hand slightly away from her.
"Out?" she asked him with a raised eyebrow and then bit her lower lip seductively. I kept banging her head on the floor in my mind, but I just stood there and glared at her.
"You understood me perfectly! There are no more excuses for your shit," Kiyan said loudly to her, but she just grinned.
"I've tried to be good, but fine, then you want to do it the hard way."
At that moment there was a knock on the door and I jumped slightly from the tension in the room.
Kiyan let go of me, ran to the door and opened it to let in Zayn, who just looked at Chloe in surprise.
"I told you not to look at me anymore," he said quietly, but with an aggressiveness in his voice that Chloe immediately avoided his gaze and looked at Kiyan intently.
"I can also tell her what happened. Let's see if she even wants to be near you then," she took a step towards me, but I suddenly had to grin dirty, which made her frown.
"Don't bother. I know what happened and nobody is to blame here but you!", I replied and took Kiyan's hand in my own to make it clear to this beast that I stood by him despite everything.
"Ohhh, you told her. How touching! Let's see who the police blame."
She winked at me boldly and I wanted to take a step towards her, but Kiyan held me back.
"See you," she breathed in Zayn's face, who pushed her disgustedly towards the door.
"Shit like that!" the brown-haired yelled and slammed the door, then ran into the living room angrily. I stood next to Kiyan and watched Zayn rummage through his jacket and then put on his hip flask before settling down next to Adam.
"Calm down," Kiyan let go of me and walked over to Zayn to sit next to him. "She doesn't go to the police. She only threatens to see if we give in to her again."
Zayn rolled his eyes and then gave me an odd look before returning his eyes to his flask. "Can't you just keep your relationship a secret and act like Chloe's okay?" he turned to Kiyan and I had to deal with what he was about to suggest.
"Are you crazy?" Kiyan got up angrily and gave his best friend the middle finger, who then got up too.
"If she rats on you, it's our turn. You know that!" Zayn said angrily and Kiyan ran a hand through his hair, overwhelmed.
Was he really considering Zayn's proposal? This couldn't be serious.
"There's no way I'm going to pretend in front of Chloe. I'd really rather go to jail," Kiyan explained angrily and then approached me. "We'd better go," he said and took my briefcase from the table to pull me to the door.
"Yes! Go away! Enjoy your fucking freedom while you still can!" Zayn called after us, but Kiyan slammed the door and silently ran down the stairs in front of me.
I felt like shit and blamed myself for their fight. If I weren't there, Kiyan would probably still be living on Chloe's terms and everything would be fine, at least for everyone but him... What could I do???
