Unexpected Wedding
Ciara's pov
"There you go! You looked so gorgeous, Ma'am Ciara!" Tita Jolei said excitedly as they finalized my makeup and hairstyle. They didn't even take so long to finish everything.
"And one more thing, your shoes!" Tita Angeli said and took the box of sandals from the top of the table where I didn't notice that it was placed there. He excitedly opened it and carefully took it out of the box. My eyes twinkle in amusement when I see it.
It's so beautiful.
"Pretty, right? This will surely perfectly suit you," he said and gently put the white heels on my feet. After he put it in, Tita Jolei guided me to stand up for them to see my wholeness of me.
"How do I look?" I shyly asked as they were too stunned to stare at me as if they were adoring my looks. I held my nape in shame when they dramatically covered their mouths, tearing up, looking so proud. They held each other's hands and screamed in joy.
"Look how perfect she is!"
"I know right?!"
I bit my lower lip to resist smiling.
"Go and look at yourself in the mirror, darling!" They both guided me and walked towards the big mirror. I looked at myself through it and blinked when I didn't get to recognize myself for a moment.
Is this really me?
"You like it?" They asked, smiling so wide.
"No, I love it." Emphasizing the word love made them giggle, while I was still amazed by my look. How come I went like this? It feels so different looking at myself with this unusual look of me.
It's just so perfect.
"Ara? Where's my best friend? Is she ready?" I can already hear Jennifer's excited voice from the living room, and the moment she stepped into my room...
"Here she is~," they said together and stepped aside so Jennifer could see me. Our eyes met, that's why I witnessed how her reaction changed so fast, from excitement turning into shock. Eyes widened, lips parted. She didn't even seem to manage to handle her reaction because she stayed like that for almost five minutes, and didn't get to believe what she was saying.
"Aren't we going now?" I asked, she snapped and blink rapidly, still shocked but now she's overacting, almost cried as she stepped closer to me. Holding my face.
"Is this really you, Ara? Omg! You looked so gorgeous! Wait, gosh! I'm tearing up! Hand me a tissue, please!" She dramatically said that Tita Jolei immediately handed her a pack of tissues.
"Am I seeing everything right? Gosh, I feel like I'm going to pass out, I can't believe what my eyes are seeing right now. My best friend looks so gorgeous, thank you mamsh for this! You really never failed me!" Jennifer thanked them while tears welling up in her eyes.
She's so dramatic and overreacting. She's crying as if I'm the one who's going to get married here? I'm just literally one of the guests just like here for heaven's sake.
But apart from her reaction, something also caught my attention. I tried comparing myself to her, and I don't know if my standards were just really low or if this is really too much? Why is it like there's a big difference between us? I mean, she looks so simple, but when I'm looking at myself, it looks like I'm the bride here.
Doesn't it seem like my look is over? I mean... It's weird!
"Why do I feel like I'm the bride here?" I can't help but ask out of my curiosity. It just feels so awkward whenever I'm comparing myself to Jennifer, because I really look so different compared to her, the fact that we're only both guests??
"What do you mean? You're not, just let it be, okay? You looked so gorgeous and we can't do anything about it anymore. So, shall we go, madame?" My lips loosen when Jennifer teases me, even guiding me on the way out.
"Stop it, I literally know where's the way out. It's my house, remember?" I said but she just laughed at me, and so before we finally headed our way out of the house, we thanked my stylist and waved our hands goodbye.
"Get in first, Ara. Careful," it may look weird that she's supporting me all the time, but I just let her be. She even looks so excited and whenever I'm asking her why she is laughing like an idiot, she'll just say nothing and go back to smiling alone.
She's really weird. Is this how it feels when your brother is getting married?
"I can't believe this is happening, I'm going crazy," she suddenly whispered, talking to herself. My eyebrows met, looking so confused by how weird she is acting right now.
"Jen," I called her and she immediately turned to me, still smiling.
"I know you're happy because he's getting married, but can you at least calm yourself down? We're not even arriving at the venue," I said.
"Who told you I'm happy because he's getting married?" She burst out laughing, I frowned.
"Huh? Then why the hell do you keep on laughing there like an idiot if it's not the reason?" I asked confusedly. I really don't understand her anymore, she's getting weirder the more the time passes by, and we're getting closer to the church.
"It's nothing, don't mind me, okay? I'm just happy," she said, and this time I'm thankful because she finally calmed down. But as soon as we arrive at the church, she became wild again and keep on giggling like a fucking insane!
"Come on! Quick!" She pulled my arms.
"Ouch! Wait!" I stopped her.
"Why?"
"Why?" She asked in astonishment.
"Don't be so excited! We'll get there, okay? And stop pulling me, I almost tripped on my gown," I complained because she kept on pulling me since we got out of the car.
"You're not even the one who's getting married here but you're too over—" I stopped when she suddenly put one of her fingers to my lips and looked at me wickedly.
"Shh! Shut up, and keep your mouth shocked." She said slowly as if she wanted me to understand what she was saying.
What? Keep your mouth shocked?
I just frowned, as she dragged me again towards the door. Isn't it, keep your mouth shut? She's really so extra today that I can't even relate to her.
When we got close to the door, we suddenly stopped again.
"Why?" I looked at her.
"I... I need to pee!" She burst, and was restless, looking like something was tickling her because she kept on wiggling.
"What? Hold it, we need to get in now."
"N-no.. I can't hold it— omg! Wait for me here, Ara! I'll just look for a restroom! Aaaaaah! I'm going to pee!!" She shouted and hurriedly ran away. I loudly sighed and impatiently waited for her to get back.
I waited for a few more minutes, but she was still not there.
"Where is she?" I asked uneasily and looked around. Did she just drink a drum of water and it takes her 10 minutes but she's still not here?
"There she is!" I snapped when a group of people was about to approach me. There were three people and they were directly looking at me.
Why?
I got more uneasy the moment they finally got closer to where I was.
What are they going to do?
"Come on! You didn't tell us you're just here, we've been waiting for you for almost half an hour," The woman said and they gently guided me, but I panicked.
"H-huh?" I asked in surprise, but instead of answering me, they helped me to go to the front door of the church that was closed right now.
"Guys!" The woman shouted as she clapped, and automatically three more people came out of nowhere.
What's going on?! Who are these people and they dragged me here?
Jennifer, where are you?!
"Bend your head down a little, please. I need to put this veil on your head," she said.
Veil?! Why would she put that on me, I'm not even the bride here?!
"There you go!" She burst and smiled as she put the veil on me.
"Get ready. They're already waiting inside." The other said with a wide smile on his face.
"What? But I'm not—"
"These are the flowers, hold this! Yieee, omg! You looked so gorgeous!"
What's going on?! I'm not the bride here, please! Why are they not listening to me?!
"Be ready, it's opening!" Someone who was supporting me from behind said that.
"B-but, I'm not the—"
"Kyaa! There it is! Here you go, it's opening!!" My eyes get bigger when the door slowly opens.
"W-wait!"
"Go! Good luck, girl! Congratulations!" They said and left me behind.
Omayghad! What will I do?! I am not the BRIDE!!!!
I was even more nervous when the door finally opened, a sign that I needed to go inside.
What am I going to do? Shall I enter? Or run? But it would be embarrassing if I ran away from them, but it's more embarrassing when I come in, I'm not even the bride! Shocks!
What am I going to do now? Gosh, I hate this! Where is Raiza and she's not here?! It was supposed to be her because she was the bride and not me, gosh! What's happening?!
I tightly closed my eyes when I had already chosen what decision I would make. Okay, calm down. Stand for it, Ara!
I took a deep breath.
I can do this!
I slowly stepped my feet into the church where at the same time the familiar song started playing, causing the nervousness to start rumbling throughout my system.
Song: Marry your daughter
Sir, I'm a bit nervous
About being here today.
Still not really sure what I'm going to say.
So bare with me please,
If I take up too much of your time.
I can't imagine myself getting married to Mr. Tyler Jeon! Oh, God, please! Took me now, this is so embarrassing!
See in this box is a ring for your oldest.
She's my everything and all that I know is,
it would be such a relief If I knew that we were on the same side.
because very soon, I'm hoping that I...
I walked slowly while all eyes were on me. I don't want to lift my head, I might just see them laughing at me because it's jot the supposed bride they were seen walking down the aisle right now.
Can marry your daughter,
And make her my wife.
I want her to be the only girl that I love for the rest of my life,
And give her the best of me, 'til the day that I die, yeah.
As I walked with my head down, I couldn't help but be nervous and embarrassed. I don't know if I'll ever have a face to show them, after the very embarrassing scene I'm making.
I'm gonna marry your princess
And make her my queen,
She'll be the most beautiful bride that I've ever seen.
I can't wait smile,
When she walks down the aisle,
On the arm of her father
On the day that I marry your daughter.
I stopped in the middle of my walk when a hand suddenly reached out to me. I slowly lifted my eyes and was surprised to see who it was.
Dad?!
"D-daddy?!" I was surprised.
What is he doing here?
"Let's go?" He stood beside me and positioned his arm so that I could hook my hand.
She's been here every step
Since the day that we meet
(I'm scared to death to think of what would happen if she ever left)
"D-daddy, what are you doing here?" I asked in surprise.
"Of course, I should be here. This is your special moment today, so your mommy and I need to be here to support you," he said, smiling at me looking so proud.
Wait, what?! Did I just hear it right?!
"Special moment? Mommy?" I asked, looking so confused!
"Of course! She's here, look over there," he pointed out where I immediately looked.
Then there, I saw mommy wiping her tears, and then smiling at me happy when our eyes met. There was a trace on her face of how happy and proud she was while watching me walk down the middle of the aisle with daddy next to me.
I quickly turned my gaze to someone next to her, which made me so much more surprised!
"Jennifer?!" I whispered in surprise when I saw she was standing there, smiling at me so wide!
I thought she went to the restroom?!
I feel so betrayed but nervous at the same time because I still can't understand what is going on!
Next to her, I saw the most unexpected person. My eyes were about to pop out when I saw how she was smiling at me, waving her hands excitedly!
What the hell!
"RAIZA?!" Surprised, I cursed in my mind, because I'm getting more confused about why the hell is she standing there, wherein she was supposed to be the one who is walking here?!
W-wait, do that to me.
I turned to the other side where the men were sitting and there I saw Altair with Tyler beside him who was also smiling at me. He even clenched his fist and signed a fight with me.
What the actual fuck??
Does this mean, I'm really the one to get married?!
B-but...
W-who is my groom?
"We're almost there," daddy said, causing me to be so nervous.
I don't know why maybe because I'm nervous about what I'll see. His head was bent down but I'm pretty sure who it was!
My heart beats so fast that it makes it hard to breathe properly.
This can't be...
"D-dad? Who's my groom?" I asked incredulously.
I saw his head slowly rise, which made me more nervous, it felt like my soul was going to separate from my body. And the moment he lifted his gaze, our gaze met, it was as if cold water had been poured on me and I had forgotten how to walk when I saw who it was. My lips loosened up, I could also feel the rapid wetting of my eyes and the weakness of my knees.
How...
Tears welled up in my eyes as his smile flashed on his lips as we looked at each other.
This can't be...
Tyron.
