Jason's pov :

It bothered me that Lia hadn't talked to her father about me yet, that's why he would have thought about making a deal with that dickhead dad of Alex. I was feeling pity for Alex, how was he managing to live with that monster who had no emotions?

And that fucking demand or request of him was nothing but pure manipulation. I was too smart to fall into his traps, he couldn't make me leave my love for the sake of friendship.

"That's the problem with businessmen! They don't understand that love and business are different, I love my friends and they'll never snatch my happiness. After making me lifeless, he won't feel love, he'll feel guilty. And I'm very sad to declare that you don't know your son at all. I admit that he needs someone like my love," I pulled Lia closer, and noticed from the corners of my eyes that her eyes widened at my pronunciation.

"But he needs someone like her, not her. Falling us apart is something that nobody can do."

He smirked and shook his head. "You're too young to judge me, you don't even know that loving a wrong person can make you a heartless and emotionless person. I loved Alex's mother, but she cheated on me and here I'm, thinking of love as just a deal. That's what I don't want for my son, I know that you guys don't like me as I seem like a cruel dad, but it's for his advantage."

"I'm sorry for what happened to you, but can you please tell us more about Alex's mom? Like how kind of person she is! You never told this to Alex, right? Why?" I just freaked out, half part of me didn't want to believe him, but my heart was already trusting him as if I could sense the truth in his eyes.

Lia looked at me with narrowed eyes. "Are you kidding me? I'm not buying it." She made herself clear and glimpsed at him. "You're the most sinful and evil person I've ever met, not letting Alex meet his mom proves how kind of person you are!"

Somewhere she had the point, but as Alex was going to meet her and he always loved her, I wanted to know how she actually was!

I held her hand and tried to calm her down by rubbing her thigh gently and looked at him who had a victorious smile on his face. "Will you please tell me the truth? What are you hiding?"

Mr. Jonas began, "okay! Since you're interested in knowing the truth, let me tell you everything from the start! Emery and I met at a bar, it was just a one night stand. However, she got pregnant and came to my office to ask me to take the responsibility for the child. We got married and I fell in love with her, but as a bitch she was, she cheated on me again and again so I decided to divorce her. That small business of hers, she got in alimony from me."

He smirked and took his phone out of his pocket and handed me over. "I've proof of everything, she still sleeps with as many guys as she can approach. She has been blackmailing me for a few weeks that if I won't give her more money, she'll Alex him with her."

Lia and I scrutinised all the embarrassing pictures of Alex's mom with different men, I had seen her a few times so I recognized her face, she was indeed a slut. I felt sorry for Alex for having such a horrible mother, he loved her so much, and if he ever got to know about the truth, he would start hating all the women. Trusting someone would be the toughest thing for him after knowing about his mom.

"But why are you telling us this instead of Alex? And why are you telling the truth now?" Lia questioned as a lawyer, shooting a death glare his way so he couldn't lie.

"To be honest, I came here to meet you and get to know you. But when Jay initiated the topic of love, I had to tell you that loving the wrong person can destroy you. Plus, Alex needs to know this because as she is giving me threats, he needs to be careful," He explained and sighed. "I saw my son trembling whenever we fought before divorce, he isn't emotionally strong so I decided to hide it from him but I recently learned that the truth can't be hidden forever."

I couldn't believe how wrong we were about him! He was the victim, but his wife was pretending to be the victim. Mr. Jonas didn't even try to prove that he was the real sufferer even when he had enough proof against that bitch. Instead of proving his innocence, he chose to be the evil in everyone's visions. How quick we were to judge him?! I regretted it the moment I saw the evidence.

Fuck! That woman was going to meet Alex soon, or maybe they were already meeting somewhere. How could I forget that?

"Mr. Jonas, Emery is seriously dangerous for Alex?"

"Yes, she indeed is! I decided to divorce her when I saw her trying to burn Alex when he was asleep, that's why I need your help to make Alex understand that. He might not believe me, but he'll believe you, Jay."

"Wait! If she was that dangerous, why didn't you send her to the police? I mean, you've enough evidence to prove her wrong, right?" Lia again questioned like a question machine she was.

"I had the pieces of evidence of her cheating on me, but I didn't have the proof of her hurting Alex. Do you think that I wouldn't have talked to my lawyer about that? According to our society, a mother can never think of hurting her own child so without any proof, everyone would have blamed me so the lawyer suggested I give her in alimony whatever she wants and take custody of Alex-"

I interrupted him, "Mr. Jonas, Alex is in danger then. Emery texted him to meet her so he drove there when I came here."

His jaw dropped and his eyes widened at my statement. As soon as he came back to his senses, he called someone and asked him to track Alex's location. "You should have told me earlier." He panicked and immediately ran to his car, without giving us a chance to respond.

"Lia, I'm also leaving. Please, take care and I'll text you as soon as things get to sort out," I leaned forward to hold her face and kissed her lips before leaving.

She held my wrist and stopped me. "I also want to go with you."

"No, baby! I want to keep you out of danger. I don't know how I'll manage Alex when he gets to know the truth. Can you please take care of yourself for me?" I held her both hands and gazed at her with concerned eyes.

"I can help Alex, I mean um he sees you guys as a family so he hides his pain because he doesn't want you to be worried about him. At least, it'll be good if he opens up his heart, it's going to hurt him so much." Lia muttered and hugged me.

She had a valid reason so I couldn't deny her, since I was there to protect her, I was ready to take the risk. I nodded and she quickly followed me after taking leave from Mary.

When we reached the parking lot, Mr. Jonas had already left. I cursed under my breath, "fuck! That damn bitch has got some issues, she fucking needs to be in jail."

Our phone beeped at the same time so I checked the notification of my phone and it was Alex's message in the group chat with a location. "Need you, right now."

As soon as I read the message, George called me but I started my bike and asked Lia to answer the call. She explained everything to him and he was already on the way.

"Slow down, Jay! I'm feeling scared of this speed, you're driving like a crazy man. If we have an accident, we'll reach there late or maybe we'll be in the hospital so please, slow down!" She held me tightly and laid her head down on my back to calm my nerves.

She was right, I made a good decision to take her with me. Otherwise, I would have lost my mind and freaked out.

After almost forty minutes, we reached near the woods and found Alex's empty car. I parked my bike there and started finding him. Before we could go ahead, a man in the black bodyguard's uniform came and put his hands on our mouths and started taking us to the backside.

I tried prying his hand off my mouth but as he was a professional guard, I couldn't beat him. Lia tried to bite his hand and slapped his arms but it didn't bother him at all.

"Leave them!" Someone commanded from behind and we turned to see that person, taking deep breaths as he had blocked our way to breathe when we tried to remove his hold. "Police are coming and they will handle it legally. We just need to make sure that she isn't alert of us being here."

He explained and we found George and Theo sitting there, perhaps the same happened with them, too. I could sense it by their faces.

"But what if she does any harm to Alex? We just can't sit here and wait." Theo shouted and the guard pointed his gun at him, indicating him to lower his voice.

"If we go there, she'll change the set-up and manipulate the police when they arrive. I know her better than you so trust me and do as I say or leave the place right now. He is my son," he warned us and sat in his car.

Lia rolled her eyes and walked over to him. "If you're his father, we are his friends and we care about him more than you so you better not ignore Theo's point."

"Seems like you love him, huh?" He smirked, he knew very well how to shut our mouths. I couldn't stand there anymore. I plopped my hand on her waist and saw my friends raising their eyebrows as they didn't know that part.

"Whatever happened to you doesn't give you the right to be mean to everybody else," she spat and walked away from him.

Shooting a death glare his way, I followed my girl and we twirled around to find Alex but he was nowhere to be seen.

There was dead silence among us and the woods were already giving me a negative vibe. Only God knew what that woman could do and where she had kept Alex!

"Honey, do you think that I'm a fool or you can catch me?" A female voice echoed in our ears and I shoved Lia behind me, looking around us to find that woman.

Alex's dad came out of the car and shut the door with a wild thud. "Where are you?" He shouted furiously and gestured to his people to find her.

"Uh-huh! You're still as annoying as you were in your young days," she scoffed and suddenly changed her tone to seriousness, "send your men away, otherwise, the sharp knife will cut the throat of your dear son."

I wondered how a mother could be that cruel?! She was talking about killing her own son by herself, was she a psychopath?
