Blaze* More Time With Lyra
BLAZE*
I didn't want to leave Lyra. Even with all of the bruises, casts, and wires hanging all over the place, she was still the most beautiful woman I had ever encountered. I hope she wakes up soon. I want to meet her and get to know her.
The nurse had said that I could come back later if I wanted. So I decided to head home for a bit to rest, and I would come back later before going to my parents for dinner. Jace would be bringing Vega tonight so that everyone could meet her. As of now, Tanner and I are the only ones to have met and spent some time with Vega.
Once I arrived home, I grabbed bottled water and walked to my room. I stripped down to my underwear and crawled into bed. I guzzled my water then laid down. I set my alarm to wake me up at four o'clock; it wasn't long before I passed out.
My alarm went off at four o'clock, and I woke up and made myself presentable for dinner at my parent's tonight. I grabbed my phone, keys, and wallet, got in my truck, and took off to the hospital. I would have an hour with Lyra before leaving for dinner.
The nurse from before had cleaned Lyra up quite well, and she now had a glow about her; she looked so peaceful lying there. Oh, how I wished that she would wake up. I bent over to kiss Lyra on the forehead, grabbed her hand, and sat down.
"Hello, beautiful. I'm back but only for a little while. I have a family dinner to get to; Jace will bring Vega tonight so that everyone can meet her. It would help if you healed and woke up, and maybe you could go with me someday. I would love to show you off. If we are meant to be, that is. I do feel with everything in me that you are my soulmate, but I won't know for sure until you wake up and we see each other face to face. Would you please wake up Lyra, come be with me; I need you?" I pleaded as I grabbed my phone and put on some music.
"I know that we haven't officially met yet, but I love you, Lyra, and it's killing me to see you this way. I'm about to get horribly busy at work, so this may be the last time I can see you for a while. Please don't leave me ok, fight this and come back to me. I swear I'll do everything in my power to care for you and make you happy," I said as I laid my forehead on her hand.
I sat with Lyra for another forty minutes before I had to leave. I wished I could stay here with her. I kissed Lyra on her cheek and whispered in her ear.
"Come back to me, love, so that we can start our lives together. Don't stay gone too long,"
LYRA*
When the man from my dream returned, my soul leaped with joy. I could feel his touch as he kissed me and held my hand. His touch was the only thing that broke the barrier, but still, I could not break free. I felt I would forever be trapped within the confines of my own mind.
When he whispered in my ear to come back to him, my soul cried out to him, but I did not wake. I didn't want him to leave; he said it might be a while before returning. I couldn't stand it when I saw him walking out of the door. Surely it wouldn't be long before he returned, does he not understand how much I need him.
BLAZE*
I hate that work has grown so hectic; I know this is the last time I'll be able to see Lyra, for a couple of months at least. Surely Lyra would wake up during that time. I'm late getting to my parent's house. My mother is going to freak. She is worse than me when it comes to people being late.
"There you are; I was wondering if my own son wasn't going to make it to family dinner night," mom said as she pulled me into the living room.
"Sorry, mom, I had a prior engagement that ran late; I'll try not to let it happen again," I said as my mom drug me over to Vega and Jace.
"Have you met Vega? I can't believe Jace has kept her away for so long; I have been begging him to bring her for months," mom said excitedly.
"Yes, we have met, hi there," I said and smiled and shook Vega's hand.
"Come on; you need to meet Crystal, your uncle Jason's girlfriend. She is quiet at first, but she's hilarious. It was quite a surprise that he brought someone; you know he hasn't dated anyone since your aunt Chloe left," mom said as we made our way over to my Uncle Jason and Crystal.
***
Last night was amazing. Jace had brought Vega and introduced her to everyone. My uncle Jason, Jace and Tanner's dad, had shown up with a date named Crystal, who had clung to his side all night.
I could see how perfect she would be to my uncle Jason. I don't remember my Aunt Chloe all that much, but I remember her never being a mother to Tanner or Jace.
She had always left them both at our place to do whatever it was she went to do. When my Uncle showed up to functions with my Aunt Chloe, she tried her best to stay away from everyone. She was always distant and never wanted anything to do with me, her kids, or Conner and Wade.
It was as if kids were a nuisance to her. Crystal was different, though. Grant it there wasn't any kids around, but she was all about getting to know everyone. She was a bit shy at first, but then once she got comfortable, she had been the life of the party like my mom said she was.
I still felt a bit awkward around Vega; I guess because she happened to be the spitting image of Lyra, and it still threw me off.
Before everyone left, Jace announced that he and Vega were going to church and asked if anyone wanted to come with them.
Richard and Rebecca, who had also been there last night, looked shocked and everyone else in the room as well.
In the end, I was the only one who took them up on their offer.
I have been dressed and ready for an hour. I sat here waiting for a text from Jace to let me know where I needed to go. Jace texted me to tell me to come to Vega's house and that he would pin me the address.
I had thoughts about where Vega and Lyra lived; by having the dream and Vega showing up with Jace at the Ranch. Still, I sat there and waited for Jace to text me the address. I looked to see the text after Jace sent it, and sure enough, It was the address I suspected. I ran a hand down my face, took a deep breath, and got up from my recliner. I went to the garage, punched the garage door gage to open, then walked over to my truck, opened the door, and climbed in.
'Well, here I go,' I thought to myself as I backed out of my driveway and headed to Vega and Lyra's house. The more I thought about it, the more excited I was to see what the girls had done to the place.
