Blaze and Lyra* New Years Eve
BLAZE*
"Jace, is there any way you could have Vega take Lyra somewhere for a couple of hours? Maybe to go dress shopping or something so that I can set up everything in the backyard for tonight?" I asked Jace as I poured my morning coffee.
"Oh yes. I'm sure Vega wouldn't object to that, and I could help you set things up if you want. I'm free until Vega, and I leave later on this evening," Jace said as he poured himself a glass of coffee.
We both sat down at the table. It's my turn to cook breakfast, but I need one cup of coffee to get me going in the mornings, or I'm dead on my feet. It's eight o'clock on a Saturday morning, and the girls wouldn't be awake for at least another hour.
I've learned never to wake Lyra up before nine o'clock on a Saturday; unless I wanted a monster breaking through the surface. I've also learned, however, that if there weren't anything ready for breakfast once the girls woke up, Jace and I would get the same results, monsters.
"Jace, that would be great if you could help. I have to run to my parent's house to pick up the table, chairs, lights, and decorations I took over there. If you could go with me, that would be great, and those lights are going to take a while to put up. So yes, it would be wonderful if you could help me," I said as I finished up my coffee and got up to start cooking breakfast.
"Are you nervous? I was nervous, though I don't know why; I knew Vega would say yes. I think it was the ring, I wasn't sure she would like it, but she loved it," Jace said as he started setting the table.
"Yes, I am nervous about the ring. It's not your ordinary diamond ring. It matches the jewelry I got her for Christmas. I think maybe I should have picked out something else," I said as I cracked eggs open and prepared them in a bowl to make scrambled eggs.
"Nah, I bet Lyra will love it," Jace said as he poured the juice into glasses and set them on the table.
Lyra walked into the kitchen and hugged me from behind, just as I was finishing up the scrambled eggs. I turned around and gave her a quick kiss.
"Good morning love, did you sleep well?" I asked her as I turned back around and dumped the eggs into a bowl.
"Yes, indeed, as always since you moved in," she said shyly, and we walked to the table together. Oh, how I love my angel; I can't wait until tonight.

So Blaze and Jace fed Vega and me and then told us to get ready and then practically pushed us out the door. It's now one o'clock in the afternoon, and if Vega drags me to another bridal boutique before eating some lunch, I might have to bite her head off.
"I'm not wearing those heels, you can't make me, and I won't do it, Vega. N,o and no, I need nourishment, so let's eat. Maybe if you feed me, I'll be in a better mood. Until then, you aren't going to get any cooperation from me," I said while I walked towards the door.
"Lyra, you're such a buzzkill; those heels are beautiful," Vega argued.
"Yeah, maybe, but I'm still not going to wear them. I'll fall and break a leg wearing those damn things; I'm not going to do it, end of the argument," I said as I walked out the door.
"You're not wearing flats with your maid of honor dress; I forbid it," Vega exclaimed.
"Watch me, if you're going to eat, you better come on, or I'm leaving without you," I yelled as I walked towards the car. Vega walked up to the car, opened the door, slid in, and then slammed the door. What were the guys thinking? I'm going to kill Vega by the end of this day.
"I think we should do something else, like go to a movie or something after we eat so that we don't kill each other before New Year," Vega said.
"Sounds like a plan to me because if I go into one more bridal boutique with you, I might end up punching you in the face," I said. It was a long drive to China Star.

"Well, what do you think? Does it look like something that would only happen in books and movies because that's what I'm going for?" I asked Jace.
"I would have to say yes to that one. Lyra is a hopeless romantic; she is going to go nuts over this," Jace said as we both stared at the creation we both had made.
"Well, I guess it's time for me to get dinner started. Thank you so much for helping me, Jace," I said as we both turned to walk back to the house.
"No problem, I'll get ready, and then I'll go pick Vega up from wherever they may be, and Lyra will come here," Jace said.
"Ok, thank you, Jace," I said as I got all of the ingredients from the refrigerator.
Jace walked out the door just as I put everything in the oven. I headed to Lyra's and my room to shower and get spruced up. Man, I hope Lyra loves this ring and the setup outside. I know she's going to love the food and wine! I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. I think I'll prepare a bath for her before I get in the shower; she texted me about thirty minutes ago that she and Vega have had a long day. I'm about to make up for that.
LYRA*
Thank God Jace was on his way to pick up Vega; I'm so close to wringing her neck. I ended up getting those stupid heels to make her happy. Blaze will have to spend the whole day holding me up at her wedding and making sure I don't trip or fall. If I do, I'll seriously beat her; I don't care if she's my twin sister and it's her wedding day. I'm so ready to be home with Blaze. He said he had plans to spoil me tonight; I wonder what he's got planned for us.
"Thank you, Lyra, for putting up with my crazy for the day; I love you; you and Blaze have fun tonight," Vega said as she grabbed her shopping bags from the back seat.
"You really tested my patience today Vega, but I love you too; you guys have fun as well," I said, and Vega shut the door. Jace came over to take the bags from her and flung them into the back seat and then, as usual, helped Vega into his truck. Damn that woman, I love her, but sometimes I wanted to scream.
I sat in my car for a few moments to breathe and gather myself. I didn't want Blaze having to deal with this mood I'm in because of Vega. Vega's wedding will be the death of me.

I walked into the kitchen from the garage and smelled the amazing aroma of food baking in the oven. Which made my mouth water; it smelled so good. I wonder what Blaze has prepared for us. I walked over to the stove, but Blaze surprised me and spun me around.
"It's a surprise. I have a bath ready for you, come on," Blaze said as he picked me up bridal style and carried me to our bathroom. My man always knew just what I needed.
Blaze helped me into the tub and then turned on the jets. Yes, this is heavenly.
"Relax, and then get ready, wear the jewelry I got you. I'm going to finish preparing dinner; I'll be back in a bit," Blaze said, and then he walked out the door.

Yes, that bath was just what the doctor had ordered. I'm all relaxed and carefree. I blow-dried my hair, put some makeup on, and now I'm searching for something nice to wear. Blaze is all spiffed out in lovely dark blue jeans, and a long-sleeved dark blue button-down shirt, and his nice dress boots. So I knew that I needed to dress nice but warm in case we went out somewhere after eating dinner. I chose to wear my matching black lace bra and panty set, and then I tugged on some thick black tights. I then put on a V-neck long-sleeved knee-length grey dress. Lastly, I put on the beautiful jewelry Blaze had gotten me for Christmas. Vega would pass out if she saw me right now.
I walked out of the bathroom and jumped in surprise because Blaze was seated on the bed waiting for me. Blaze stood and walked towards me, bending down; he kissed me.
"Come with me, my love," Blaze said as he put my hand and linked it with his elbow. Blaze was being such a gentleman tonight. I loved it.
We walked to the coat rack in the laundry room, and Blaze helped me into my coat and then put his coat on. I looked at him questioningly.
"We'll need these, we are going to be outside, and it's a little bit chilly," Blaze said as he linked my hand to his elbow once again, and we made our way to the back door.
"Close your eyes please, I'll let you know when you can open them," Blaze said, and I complied.
We go up a couple of steps. I could see faint light through the darkness of my closed eyes. I could hear Instrumental romantic music playing. Are we at the Gazebo? What in the world? All of a sudden, Blaze had left my side.
"You can open your eyes now, love," Blaze said, and I opened my eyes.
I looked up to see lights that said marry me up on the ledge, and thousands of lights strung and hung everywhere. It's gorgeous; oh my goodness, I looked down to see that Blaze had kneeled before me on one knee and had a ring box opened before me. My eyes grew wide, and I smiled the brightest smile I had ever smiled before. This sort of thing never happens; it's something you read about in books or watched in movies. This was so freaking perfect, and that was why Blaze was created just for me.
"Lyra, my love. From the time I dreamt of you, I've loved you. From the time you walked in the door, and I saw you for the first time, I've loved you. I sleep at night and no longer have nightmares and anxiety because you are there with me. I want to give you the world and all of my love until my dying breath. Lyra Riley, will you marry me?" Blaze said adoringly.
"You did this all for me? Blaze, this is so perfect, my goodness, yes, yes, of course, I'll marry you; I love you so much, Blaze," I said excitedly, and Blaze put the ring on my finger and got up and kissed me passionately. If it wasn't almost seven o'clock and for the fact that I'm starving, I'd make love to Blaze right here.
Blaze helped me into my chair and scooted me closer to the table he had set up. A white table cloth had been draped over the table, and Blaze had candles lit in the middle. Blaze had he and I sitting next to each other instead of across from each other; rose petals were scattered everywhere.
I glanced down at my ring as Blaze went back inside. Blaze knows me way too well. The ring's band was cobalt, and the center stone was sapphire like the color of Blaze's eyes. Six small diamonds were surrounding the sapphire stone and more diamonds along the band. My engagement ring was beyond gorgeous.
Blaze returned with chilled wine, which he poured into our wine glasses, and strawberries and chocolate dip. Oh yes, I would rock Blaze's world tonight. No doubt about that.
