A Call

After hearing the story, Jammie's mother slapped Jammie real hard. Maybe because she was a female she could understand what a girl will feel after going through that incident. After she slapped her, she said, "I did not expect this from you. How could you think of ruining another girl's life? If your plan would have come totally true than you could even end your life in prison. If that incident would have happened, she could even suicide. Then, you guys would be the murderer." She slapped her again. Jammie started crying. Jammie's mother covered her face and sat down for a minute and came in front of me and she knelt down. She said, "I am sorry for my child's doings." I know Jammie was wrong however her mother had not done anything wrong and she was elder than me. Before I reacted Jammie came and asked her mother to get up. But she did not.

Jammie said, "Mom, I have not done all these things. It was Monica's plan. It was all her doing. I know I am wrong that I supported her. But..." Her mother slapped her again and yelled at her, "Shut up. Beg for forgiveness. I am not going to help you in anyway. You should accept your punishment." I squatted and tried to make her stand because I felt uncomfortable. I said, "Aunty I cannot forgive them however you are elder than me you do not need to kneel in front of me." Jammie was already crying so much. I could see regret in her eyes. However seeing all this Monica's father got impatient.

He yelled at Ms. Lily, "Whatever my daughter has done it is just a small mistake. You better cancel her expelling otherwise it will not be better for you." Ms. Lily had no expression on her face. It looked like she was not afraid of Monica's father's threat. She ignored him. Monica's father came to me and said, "You better tell her to cancel Monica's expelling. It will not be better for you. Do you know who I am?"

I did not know what to say so I looked at Ms. Lily. She then spoke up, "I have already decided. Sarah cannot change my decision. So, it is useless to threaten her with your stupid words." I was more scared now. I did not want to end up getting expelled. I did not want my parents to know anything about it. I had always felt that I was a burden to my parents because they did everything for my sake and I was just a shame to them. I had nothing to make them proud of me. So, I did not want to trouble them.

So, I said, "Ms. Lily." I paused for a while. Tears started flowing again but I wiped it with my hands. I did not want to say it however I had to do. So, I said, "Ms. Lily, please cancel it. I forgive them. I do not want them to be punished." Ms. Lily still had no expression on her face, "Sarah I guess you forgot that I told you, you can increase their punishment but not decrease." I stuttered, "But… but ... I..." Monica's father yelled making me startle and more scared, "Enough!!! You both will pay for this. Especially you." He pointed at me.

He then took out his phone and went out of office started calling someone. Monica followed him. I felt like I should have just closed the door. I should not have told anyone anything. Ms. Lily should not have known anything. I could not stop my tears falling. Ms. Lily came to me and kept her arms on me and said, "Don't worry. I promise everything will be fine."

Monica's father returned. He said, "You will get a call soon." He sat on the sofa like a boss. Monica sat with him. After he sat, the phone of Ms. Lily's office rang. Before Ms. Lily picked up the phone, Monica's father said, "Put it on loud speaker." Ms. Lily looked at him and kept it on loud speaker. She said, "Hello."

The other side: Is this Ms. Lily?

Ms. Lily: Yes. How can I help you?

The other side: Ms. Lily, I am Dustin. I wanted to say you that you are fired and also that student Sarah she is expelled from our school.

Monica was happy. She said, "Oh my god, Mr. Dustin the manager of our school. Dad, Thank you so much." Monica's father smiled to her. Mr. Dustin is the manager. He was in the position above from every teachers and in charge. So, Ms. Lily was in lower position than him. I felt I even ruined Ms. Lily.

Ms. Lily: Mr. Dustin, are you sure I am fired? Can you decide to fire me by yourself? Mr. Dustin laughed and said, "Don't worry if you need a job you can find me. I know a friend in a secondary school. I can keep a word for you there."

Ms. Lily: I guess you should think about it once again. You do not want to end up losing the job as I know I have not done anything wrong.

Monica's father, Monica and Mr. Dustin laughed and the call ended. I knew it before but I was sure now that I was doomed. What do I tell my parents now? They might understand me but I know that I was just pathetic. I could not even solve this by myself. At that one moment, I felt only if my parents were also filthy rich.
