Birthday

I was in front of the door and I opened it. My eyes getting hot and red. I went in and closed the door and I felt someone was behind me. I thought I was being robbed so I swung the bag and turned back which hit the person's body behind me. Suddenly, the beautiful lights were turned on and "Surprise!!!" lots of voices were there and flowers were being showered at me. I saw that it was Louis whom I hit. I didn't know what to say. I was surprised but Louis had not much impact from my bag. So, he also said, "Surprise!!" I was already in tears. I could see more people even those whom I haven't met from so long. There were my parents in the middle. There were Andrew, Alice, Louis, Louis's mother, Nancy, members of my law firm, Amy and my friends from Exohub (Jennie, Saff, Dora, Shawn and David) Alice's fiancée, John and one more lady.

My apartment looked really different from the place where I was standing. I felt loved. I had thought no one remembered my birthday but everyone remembered. I felt tears falling down. Everyone was silent. I wiped my tears and I was still sobbing and I said, "Thank you.... thank you everyone. Thank you so much. I thought no one remembered my birthday." My mom came to hug me and wished me again. She said, "How can we forget your birthday my girl? We are sorry dear we didn't wish you early. Why are your eyes so red?" I said, "Nothing". Nancy said, "Come on Sarah. I guess I will be the first one to give you my gift. So, let's go and get you changed." I went in and saw my apartment decorated beautifully. The sofas and tables were moved and the gifts were in the middle which made a heart shape. I could smell some good food also. So, I said, "I will be fresh and come back in a minute."

Alice came and said, "No, our birthday girl should take time to get ready." Alice and Nancy came along with me and Nancy gave me a gift. I opened it and my mouth opened widely. She gifted me a dress. It was like a princess's dress. I had tears again in my eyes and thanked her.

I freshened up and changed and they helped me with my hair and makeup. I looked beautiful in that dress. It was my dream to always look like a princess on my birthday and it came true. Alice and Nancy both complimented me. Nancy even complimented herself saying that, "She has good eyes in choosing dress." I stepped out of my room. Everyone looked at me. I could see Louis looking at me like he is seeing me for the first time. Finally everyone wished me again and complimented me that I looked like a princess.

I was in the middle and my mom brought a cake. I thought in my heart that Andrew made me a cake also like always. I was thankful. The cake was in front of me, so as I wanted to thank everyone there before cutting the cake I thanked them all, "I cannot find words adequate enough to express my appreciation for this lovely birthday surprise. This wonderful surprise birthday party, made me realize getting older is not so bad when I have people who loves me like you all. Thank you everyone." A drop of tear fell down from my eye and I smiled.

Dad said, "Well, you should give more credit to Louis and Andrew here." Andrew said, "I had not thought of this party, I just thought that I would celebrate it with you like I have been doing. It is all thanks to Mr. Vuitenn." I felt a bit different in my heart when I heard that Louis was the main planner. Louis said, "It was not possible without all of you so we all have credits and the special credit goes to Sarah because it's her birthday and without her the party won't be of any value." Nancy said in a joking manner, "I guess you should cut the cake because if we start talking about credit, the party will be over like this only." Everyone laughed. I looked at the cake and blew the candle and I cut it. I was hungry, so after the cake cutting part, we all were served by Alice, my mom and Amy.

They also joined. The moment was lively. I was feeling blessed. The apartment which I thought big suddenly felt small. I never knew my apartment could also look this beautiful. I just felt so loved and cared by so many people at that minute. I felt my eyes wet. Alice looked at me and said, "Why are you getting emotional now?" Someone started music and Alice took me to the balcony. I confessed her, "I was actually sad the whole day. I did not get any wishes and I thought... I thought that no one remembered. Also, my car broke down and my heels also broke. So, I thought I was an unlucky person. But when I am seeing everyone here for my birthday, I am feeling touched."

She hugged me and asked, "By the way, do you love one of them?" I was confused so I asked, "One of them?" She said, "Louis and Andrew. I could see both of them loves you to the same extent. I just wanted to know who is in your heart." I smiled and said, "No, Andrew and I are just best friends. He doesn't think of me like that. But Louis confessed that he likes me. So, I am starting to trust him. But still I am afraid."

Just then, John came with the lady and said, "What are you doing here?" We just smiled and I said, "Just because she wanted to wish me separately." He introduced the lady to me, "She is Mia. The one who saved you once." I greeted her and thanked her and soon we all were inside having fun as some of them danced and some were chatting and laughing and eating and drinking. Slowly everyone started going. Before Alice returned, she said, "You remember what I told you right? I guess you should ask him at least once. What if the thing I said is true!"

I told my parents to stay in the apartment for the night and Andrew also was left to help me clean the place. The last one was Louis and his mom, we were out of the apartment and Louis's mom went down. Louis and I both were left and I said, "I never had a birthday party before. But I always wanted to have one. Thank you for fulfilling my wish. You brought me together with those who love me by arranging this unforgettable birthday party. Thank you so much Louis." He was looking at me with his beautiful eyes and he said, "You deserve more than this Sarah. I promise I will give you all that you deserve. I will fill your life with happiness. I will be waiting for the day when you completely have trust on me." He went.

I went back to the apartment. I was tired but I had to clean. I told my parents to use guest room. I thanked Andrew because he stayed to help me out. Although others insisted I didn't agree but I knew Andrew was stubborn. We started cleaning and in the middle I stopped and said, "Andrew, let's stop for a while."

We sat on the sofa and I said, "I have not even thanked you yet so I just wanted to thank you. And also thank you for making the cake as always." He said, "You don't know lovey, how hard it was for me to not wish you in the morning. But the cake was not made by me." I asked shocked, "What do you mean you didn't make it? Who made it then?" He answered, "Louis". I paused for a second and asked, "What do you think he is like?" He replied, "I felt that he is a good man. He will keep you happy for sure." I remembered what Alice said, so I asked, "I don't know why I am saying this but you don't have such feelings for me right?" He looked at me surprised, and then he started cleaning and said....
