“THE CONFRONTATION”
"WHAT are you doing here?" recovering from the shock, Lana tried to formalize the tone of her voice and the young lady succeeded.
The young man's thick eyebrows rose at the same time as the re-emergence of a seem to be venomous smile gave her a strange quiver.
Quiver that for a long time she had not felt to any man who had attempted to approach her.
"Let's not fool each other. I know you know the reason why I'm here, and you also know to yourself that you have a lot of explanations to do with me,” Andrew's words were emphatic. While his eyes had a strange feeling as he stared at her.
Lana quickly avoided the young man's scorching stare at her.
"I-I don't know what you are talking about," she said, looking back at the paper she was reading. Regardless of the rapid throbbing of her chest. "I have a lot to finish and I don't have time for things that are not related to my work," she said without looking at the young man who remained standing in front of her working table.
“Really? Even about Andrea?” Andrew asked sarcastically so she quickly stared at him again.
"W-What?" there was a trace of fear in Lana's tone that she couldn't control.
Andrew let out a weak laugh. "Tell me, who is Andrea's father?" the way he stared at her did not change.
It was a long time before Lana could speak because of that question. So the man spoke again.
“She is my daughter! I know that Andrea is my daughter!” Andrew says emphatically and with a strong tone.
Lana was quickly alarmed there, worried that Rowena might have heard what Andrew had said and what else Andrew wanted to say.
"Stop!"
“If you don't want to talk, let's just go through everything legally. You know I could do that. I'll give Andrea a DNA test, and once I prove I'm right, I'm so sorry,” Andrew said in a threatening tone.
Extreme fear immediately engulfed Lana's chest.
"P-Please, she's still too young and ---," Lana didn't finish what she wanted to say when Andrew spoke again.
“Am I right? I am her father! I am the father of Andrea!” low but in Andrew's eyes and tone was anger.
Lana glared at the man for a moment.
What else can she do? Andrew was rich and as the young man said, he could do everything and the truth would surely come out that he was Andrea’s father.
Coincidentally, she could do nothing if that happens. Or worst, maybe…
Lana quickly dismissed all the negative things in her mind.
"Please, have a seat," she sighed afterward.
Anger quickly disappeared in the young man's eyes which was replaced by amusement. Then without hesitation sat down on the long sofa that was inside her spacious office.
Lana's eyebrows met at Andrew's gesture. She knew he was annoying her and she had to admit it was working right now.
"Why are you sitting there?" her persistent question.
It seemed like nothing when Andrew crossed his legs and then placed both hands on the long back of the leather sofa.
“I like it here and besides, it doesn’t say 'thank you for not sitting’. Meaning to say, I can sit here,” he said, following his words by a weak laugh.
"Please?" Lana pointed to the chair in front of her desk.
The young man shook his head. "Unless you want us to talk at a louder volume that anyone can hear?" said Andrew as the corner of his lips rose afterward.
Lana's face quickly turned red at what the young man said so she just shook her head and then moved. But her steps were stopped when Andrew spoke again.
“You are really different, it's been three years since we last met. But I still have a different effect on you, I just say simple words and stare at you and you will end up blushing right away,” Andrew said meaningfully and Lana got what that meant.
Lana's chest throbbed even harder at what the young man said. Then she acted and sat down on the single sofa opposite the one Andrew occupied. But she did not expect what he did next.
Andrew pulled her hand so she fell and landed on his lap. Lana was shocked so she screamed.
"Glad I got caught you," he said while smiling mischievously at her when she turned to the young man.
"You bastard!" she said hurriedly freeing herself from him. "That's too much!" Lana said angrily in a low and controlled tone even though the truth was since earlier she really wanted to start fighting with Andrew.
Andrew laughed softly then his gaze caressed her from head to toe. “Maturity becomes you, sweetheart. You look even more beautiful,” he said, staring at her and then winked.
Even though Lana didn't admit it, she knew she was shaken by what Andrew said and did. But she’s more mature now, so it’s only right that she hides all her weaknesses from him.
"Don't mess with me anymore," she said seriously. "I'm no longer the former fangirl ---,"
“Who freely gave everything that she had to me? Then all of a sudden everything that happened seemed to have nothing to her, even if I am the first man in her life?” Andrew said abruptly in a strong tone.
Lana stared into the young man's eyes and then sighed. She didn’t expect the hatred she saw in the windows of his soul.
"That's a one-night stand!" she said emphatically even though the truth was, that was not what she wanted to say.
Lana secretly regretted that when she saw the intense frustration reflects on Andrew's eyes over what she had said.
“So, Aunt Tina was right. And it's only right that I didn't look for you even though I really wanted to do that because I wanted to see you and talk to you! ” he stabbed her in between his restraints of fury.
"L-Look for me?" the word really sinks in on Lana so that was what deliberately slips from her lips.
Andrew didn't respond to what she said and instead just stared at her. “Now, tell me the truth. I'm Andrea's father, right?”
Even though Lana didn't admit it, she knew the young man had cornered her. And one more thing, what she did was really wrong. She shouldn’t have hidden their daughter from Andrew.
But how can you say that something she did just out of love was wrong? In her great love for their own child?
She wants to do nothing but protect her.
“Answer me! Yes?” Andrew in turn surprised her.
“Yes! She is yours! Andrea is your daughter! Now that you know the truth, what will you do? Will you take my baby? Will you take her away from me? I’m telling you,” she said standing up then holding back her anger as she approached the young man. "You can't take her from me, no matter what you do. Over my dead body!” she said then gave Andrew a sharp look afterward.
Andrew let out a weak laugh then stood up. The distance between them was so small when he stepped forward and then quickly pulled her waist.
“And I won't let that happen to your body, My Lovely. I just want to see her, introduce me to her as her father and we won't have any problems,” as he completely pressed his body against hers.
Lana let out a violent sigh because of that. Simultaneously with the familiar flow of electricity for three years, she had only now felt it again. While there was the delicious shiver that was caused by the intense sensation that she only felt with Andrew.
"Tell me, why did you leave me?" Andrew whispered then he bowed.
Lana closed her eyes as the man's fragrant breath crossed her face. She then tried to free herself from his tight grip on her but she failed.
"Let me go," Lana commanded emphatically. "I will call security," she threatened.
The corner of Andrew's lip lifted then spoke again.
"Before you even did that, I might have kissed you already," after that saying that he firmly claimed her lips.
Lana's knees quickly weakened at that kiss. She couldn't understand why even her mind knew what was right when it came to this man, she had to admit she was a great fool.
The young lady struggled.
While somehow she was still able to say that she had not completely lost because of that earnest and earth-shuttering first kiss, after three long years.
But her actions only made the situation worse. Because Andrew's grip on her body tightened. As he further deepens the way he kisses her.
The young man did not give her a chance to catch some air. Because her lips remained confined to him. Until Lana finally subdue.
Even she herself couldn't stop herself from responding to his passionate kiss with her, in the same way.
"That was wonderful," Andrew said when he released her lips and then bowed again, and then a simple kiss touched her mouth. “You have the sweetest and the softest lips. Just as how beautiful your eyes are,” he said caressing her face with an admiring look.
Lana's face turned red so she quickly bowed her head. She couldn't help but be annoyed with herself because of her constant vulnerability to Andrew.
"After lunch,I'll go home. I'll bring you with me so you can meet your daughter."
