"GOOD NIGHT KISS"
"It may not have been such a good start for the two of us, but I will never trade it because for me it was one of the best things that happened in my life," Lana replied after a while.
The gleam in Andrew's eyes was beautiful because of that. "Yeah?"
Lana nodded then caressed Andrew's handsome face. "Yes, and that's because of our daughter, Andrea," she replied.
A sweet smile tore from Andrew's lips. He took her hand then brought it to his lips and kissed it. "Thank you, and I'm sorry," the young man replied instead.
"Excuse me?" the young lady's eyebrows barely met because of what Andrew had said.
Andrew nodded then lowered her hand but remained to hold it. "For all my shortcomings as the father of our child. Forgive me if I didn't look for you. The truth is I really wanted to look for you then, but pride overcame me more and include being… Well, I hate to say it but, in everything that happened, I pretended to be Aunt Tina's puppet. Because popularity was important to me, I like the limelight, even though the truth is that I eventually realized that all that is not permanent. Because the real happiness is the family, the family that I will start and build with you and Andrea," Andrew said passionately.
The young man's words touched Lana's heart, so the corner of her eyes quickly warmed up. But because it wasn't the right time to be emotional, so she held back and she succeeded.
"M-May I ask a question?" Lana's voice was broken.
Andrew nodded then smiled kindly.
"I-If I ever told you the truth before, will you still offer me marriage?"
Where Lana drew her strength for that question she did not know. And if there is one thing that she was sure was the sudden nervousness that she felt that she couldn't understand. She waited for Andrew to speak. She stared into his eyes and then gazed at his face that lingered on the young man's lips for a while because she was waiting for them to move. But something else happened because she took a deep breath when Andrew suddenly kissed her.
For a few moments, the young man remained in possession of her lips. Then catching his breath Andrew watched as he resigned on kissing her.
"Of course! But let's not talk about that anymore. Although I'm sorry for all the wasted time, for all I haven't done that I could have done. That's over, and maybe it's better like this. What is more important is today and tomorrow and that's what we have to share and to cherish," Andrew explained at length to her.
Lana was overwhelmed by what she heard. "Do you think I'll have regrets, so you don't want to talk about that?" then the young lady followed what was said with a weak laugh.
Andrew laughed softly then it was as if unknowingly he wet his red lips. "I admit that I have regrets, but as I said, let's focus on what we have now and in the future."
Lana shrugged then tenderly leaned her head on the young man's shoulder again. "Anyway, you're right," was all she could say.
Then the young man moved and then put his arm around her. " I have a lot to tell you that I know can change your life, our lives. But I am having this feeling that it's too early for that," Andrew said meaningfully which made her heart beat faster while she was still leaning on Andrew's shoulder.
Lana wanted to ask but she held back. Too early? What for? Well, that made her a bit confused.
Andrew's words left a big question in the young lady's mind. But no matter what she knows that time will come, and she will also know about it. But for now, she just needs to fit in with what they have first, because despite everything, as she said before, she needs to save her ego.
"Andrew?" moments later Lana pulled herself away from the young man and then turned towards him.
"Are you sleepy?" Andrew's chuckling question to her.
"A bit, but the truth is, I just want you to know that you don't have to worry because I believe in you," Lana told the young man the truth.
She saw Andrew's beautiful eyes twinkle along with the reflection of an attractive smile from his lips.
"Really?" he said with the pleasure in the tone of his voice.
Lana nodded in succession. "Yes, I believe in you. I have a lot of trust in you, that's the truth," she clarified.
That was when the young man hugged her tightly. "Thank you, Lana, thank you very much," he said.
"Let us sleep?" when she let go of Andrew's embrace, she saw the seeming clouding of his eyes.
"Okay," was his short answer and then stood up to follow her.
"Your daughter will be happy tomorrow when she wakes up, I'm sure about that," said Lana who seemed to have imagined the possible reaction of their daughter when Andrea woke up the next morning and see her father, Andrew was next to her.
Andrew looked at her for a moment then accepted the shirt she was handing out.
"Why don’t you sleep with us?" the almost whispered offer of the young man in the desire not to wake Andrea.
"Are you crazy?" Lana replies in a tone of disbelief although the truth is she likes that idea.
It was then that there seemed to be nothing that Andrew had taken off the shirt he was wearing. Lana was surprised there and quickly turned her back from the young man. She even heard the weak laugh that he released because of her reaction.
"Hey," he heard Andrew say. "Okay," in a tone that suppresses laughter, and that's exactly what she saw in the aura of his face as she turned towards him. "This shirt is beautiful, it fits me perfectly," the young man complimented in an amused tone.
The young lady’s face turned red because of that. "It’s unisex, actually," was her short answer then glared at the young man.
That was when Andrew finally smiled. "Don't tell me until now, after everything?" the man asked her meaningfully.
Lana clicks her tongue. "Stop it!"
A suppressed laughter is what Andrew let out. "C'mon sweetheart, why is it like that when how many times we have ..."
Lana quickly cut off with the other things Andrew wanted to say. "Go to sleep already. Or maybe your daughter to wake up?" she said in a hard tone even though the truth is that she can't stop the interference of the tremor in her chest.
"Sleep here. Please? This bed is spacious," Andrew was referring to the queen-sized bed that Andrea was lying on now.
"Mama will see us," was her answer even though the truth is that she really wanted to answer yes to the young man.
"Tsk, Andrea is in the middle, doesn’t she?" Andrew insisted again in an insistent tone.
The young lady thought for a moment as she remained to stare at the man who will soon be her husband.
"Please?" said Andrew again when she remained silent.
Then Lana sighed. "Okay then!" she said moving and standing on the side of the wall.
Andrew also had a beautiful smile as he lay where the child was in the middle of them. "Good night sweetheart," he said softly and then gave her the gesture asking for a kiss.
Lana laughed there and then got up to grant the young man's request.
Lana accepted that good night kiss. And gave her a different kind of happiness. No matter how simple it was or even say it was just a simple smack.
"Good night," she said as she went to bed.
She was about to go to sleep, but she felt Andrew's hand reach out to her and then put it on their daughter who was still sound asleep.
"Go to sleep already," she said to the young man.
Andrew then nodded with a smile. "You too," he said.
