CHAPTER FORTY TWO

SARAH'S POV

It's already been three days and Mr Russell hasn't shown up after the warehouse incident. We're all worried about him including Henry who was unable to find him as his number was unreasonable.

I just hope he's safe wherever he is at the moment. I just wish he can return home soon enough because everywhere feels lonely without his presence.

I was able to persuade Max that his dad had to take care of a business deal out of the country which settled well with him but for me, I just miss him so much and wish to set my eyes on him.

I guess, it's really going to take a while for me to forget about him that easily. Please, come home soon, my Jay. We all miss you so much, especially me.

"Are you both ready?" Henry inquired, as we stepped out of the mansion.

"Yes but I need to get some groceries at the mall."

"I insist. I also need to get some fresh air, you know."

"Alright Miss Sarah. One of the chauffeurs will drive you there along with a bodyguard for your protection."

"I'll be fine, Henry. I don't need any of that. I can go on my own. It's really fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah. I'll be back soon enough." I assured him.

"Bye mommy."

"Bye honey. I'll make you something special before you return, okay?"

"Okay mommy. Let's go uncle Henry." He uttered, pulling Henry's hand as they got to the car and got in before taking off.

I guess I'm all left alone. I need to quickly go and get all these groceries in order to make my favorite dish which I believe Max, aunt and Henry are going to love.

RYAN'S POV

After the success in burning down that little br*t's warehouses, my luck got even bigger when I got my hands on a shocking secret about him.

It happens I'm not the only one after his life but the more interesting part is about Sarah who happens to be more than just his son's nanny. I can't believe the b**h ruined things for that person.

It's going to be fun working together with the enemy of my enemy in destroying our one common enemy. After making sure the little br*t is dead, killing the fool who I'm going to partner with will just be a piece of cake.

"Master, Mr D is here."

"Wow! The unexpected guest is here. Let him in." I smirked, devilishly as David Pam walked with his walking stick.

I wonder what brings the old fool here after all these years. He was one of the people who rejected and ruined all my plans of becoming the mafia don even before that little br*t's father ascended the position.

"To whom do I hold this strange visit, Mr D or should I say the mafia don."

"You still haven't changed your ways, Ryan, which was why I banished you from the family because you were a rotten piece which doesn't belong in our midst."

"Ouch, that hurts I must say. You know I've gotten over the matter a long time ago so bringing it up is only a waste of time."

"I learnt of what you did to Jay back in France so don't try to play smart with me. Why did you try to tarnish his image?"

"Is that the reason for this visit? Come on, Mr D, you can't be serious. Jay deserved that embarrassment for everything he did to me."

"I'm going to be straight and clear with you, Ryan. If you don't back away with whatever intentions you have towards Jay, then be prepared to face your doom because I'll make sure he doesn't spare you in any way."

"Is that a threat coming from the mafia don himself? You and I know I'm no match for Jay. Why are you then worried about him instead of me?"

"Why would I be worried about someone who isn't worth it? I've a feeling you know something about Amanda's death but soon enough everything will be revealed."

I've to stop whatever this old fool is trying to dig out about the death of Amanda. He mustn't know what really happened on the day of her death. I've to protect that person by all means.

"Are you trying to say I had a hand in my own daughter's death?"

"I don't know yet but I'm sure we'll learn of the killer soon. You'd better stop whatever you're planning or you won't like your end."

"Enough with the lecture, Mr D. You can leave my house if that's what brought you here."

"Be prepared for whatever is coming. I won't make a noise until I have concrete evidence against you." He stated with boldness before strolling out.

His words aren't really important right now. I need to make an alliance with the enemy of my enemy first before anything else.

SARAH'S POV

I got everything I needed in the mall and was on my way to take a cab since the groceries were too much to handle when a black SUV car pulled in front of me.

I thought Henry must have sent the chauffeur to pick me up but I was mistaken. Two unfamiliar hefty men dressed in suits came out of the car and surrounded me.

"Who are you people and what do you want from me?" I stammered, slowly taking out my phone and dialing the last number on my call log.

"You will know soon enough when you take you to our boss." One of them answered and grabbed my hand forcefully.

"Let go of me, you monsters!" I screamed but the second guy gave me a slap and grabbed me on his shoulder.

"Let go of me!" I yelled as he threw me inside the car, where one in the car pointed a gun to my face.

"If you utter a single word, I won't hesitate to blow your head off."

I remained mute and hide my phone before any of them could notice.

I was able to secretly turn on my GPS tracker before putting the phone on silent. I just hope someone comes to my rescue but who are these men and what do they want from me?

I believe the person will be able to find my location since the call got disconnected after showing the line busy.
