CHAPTER 11
A tear rolled down Alexandra's left cheek as she stared for the umpteenth time at the small white object in her hand. It was a thin white strip with two red vertical bars in it. That only meant one thing - she was pregnant.
Another tear rolled down her cheek as she looked at the pregnancy kit once again. She didn't understand how she could have been so careless.
Everything about the pregnancy had started when she, in her drunk state, had offered herself to Baron. From there, her boss, Mrs. Wong had called and she had gone to the office on a Saturday.
There at the office, she and her colleagues had been assigned tasks and given deadlines to submit the task. The task had been so cumbersome and had taken so much of her time, so that most times she came home so tired and worn out and all she needed was rest and sleep.
Hence, she totally forgot everything about the pill and had fallen pregnant. A state she never planned to end up in.
Her mind traveling back to the night she shared with Baron, she hated herself the most. He was the one responsible for the pregnancy and from all indications, it was obvious that he wasn't ready to be a father. Well, neither was she. So, there was only one way out: an abortion.

"I'm really sorry, ma'am, but you can't go in right now" Sabrina said, eyes fixed on the woman in front of her
"And who are you to decide that?" The woman who was no other person than Alexandra, asked, sizing Sabrina
"You act like you don't know I'm his secretary" Sabrina said, hissing afterwards
"Did you do something?" Alexandra asked, eyebrows furrowing
"I'm stating again, in clear English terms that my boss, Sir Steven Chase is busy at the moment and wouldn't be able to attend to visitors. He told me to tell them off and that they should check in later during lunch time. Only his girlfriend, Miss Larson is allowed in" Sabrina answered, ignoring Alexandra
"And when he said to tell them off, he didn't say you should be rude, did he?"
"Just so you know, you're the rude one here" Sabrina said, trying her best not to roll her eyes
"Kindly walk away the same way you came here. My boss is busy. He just came back from a business meeting and will be having another soon" Sabrina said and proceeded to sit back in her chair but stopped when she noticed Alexandra walking towards the door to Steven's office
"I said you shouldn't go in. Didn't you get that right?"
"I don't give one cent about what you've just said" Alexandra began, looking Sabrina in the eye
"I'm fucking going in and there's nothing you'll do about it. Steven's my best friend, just so you know"
And before Sabrina could even say Jack, the door to Steven's office had already slid open and there went Alexandra, swaying her hips to his table.
"Hey! Ma'am! You weren't supposed to come in here!" Sabrina tried not to yell as she stomped after Alexandra who had already dropped her bag on the table and was leaning against it
"Come drag me out then" Alexandra hissed, arms folded
"Such a drama queen!" Sabrina groaned under her breath
"Did I hear you say something?" Alexandra asked, unfolding her arms
"I'm really sorry, Sir. I tried to ward her off but she wouldn't comply" Sabrina ignored Alexandra, as she turned to Steven, hands clasped
"It's fine, Sabrina. You may leave" Steven said, heaving a sigh of distress afterwards
"Thank you, Sir" Sabrina courtesied before leaving
"What is it, Lexa?" Steven asked, pulling his tie down slightly
"Seriously? What is it? Aren't you even gonna welcome me? You sound like you ain't happy to see me here"
"Lexa, you know very well that I'm busy. I'm sure Sabrina told you that"
"Of course she did, but I haven't set my eyes on you for about five weeks now and you expect me not to come visiting? Of course I missed you, Steven, that's why I'm here"
"And I also got you lunch" She said, making Steven's eyes dart to the small brown bag of lunch that she had dropped on the table
"Thank you, Lexa" Steven said, taking his tie off completely, and plucking out the first two buttons of his shirt
Alexandra swallowed hard the moment her eyes came in contact with the hairs on his chest as well as a little bit of his tattoos.
"You know, it's been ages since we last hung out, sat and ate, did strolls or something. Work or whatever it is you're busy with has really stolen you from me as well as our moments together"
"I know, right? But I really do hope you understand that I don't have that much time as before. There's just so much to do, a lot to prioritize and I can't help but be busy"
"Steven, other guys out there have busy schedules but still create time for their loved ones"
"You know, sometimes, you leave me wondering if we're still best friends or not" She added, flipping her hair
"Lexa, of course we're still friends. But I expect that if no one understands that I'm busy, then you should. Moreover, I have a girlfriend now and she demands my time as well"
"Yeah, right" She rolled her eyes
"Fuck you, Steven! I should have been the girlfriend, but you chose not to look my way!" She wanted to say but stopped herself
"Well, well…" She started, moving towards him and before he could even say Jack, she had already straddled him and began playing with his tie which was now completely loose
Fingers playing with both his tie and collar, she resisted the urge to assume briefly the position of a dominatrix and pull him to herself with his tie before smashing her lips on his.
'BBSM in Steven's office sounds sexy, after all' She thought
She also fought everything in her not to grind against him, although she badly wanted to.
"Lexa!" Steven called out, eyes widened
"We're in an office environment and you wouldn't want someone to walk in on us like this" He added
Flipping her hair once more and letting out a chuckle, she looked him in the eye.
"What are you scared of? Your secretary walking in on us and snitching on you to your girlfriend or worse still, your Dana girlfriend or whatever she's called walking in on us?"
"Her name's Vandana Larson and I ain't scared of nothing. Anyone who walks in would definitely read the wrong message. So I think it would be better if you just get up already"
"Relax" She laughed, placing her index finger against his lips
"I'm not here to cause chaos. I'm only here to see you as any good friend would. Anyways, it seems as though you're less enthusiastic to see me. I'd just get going already"
Steven heaved a sigh of relief when he heard the last line. But his relief was short lived, when he heard the door open and at its frame, stood Vandana.
