The sight of Aisha gave me mixed feelings; she was looking both gloriously breathtaking and annoying at the same time.
Who was her makeup Artist?
I gave a soft smile and watched as she shamelessly ate March all up with their perfectly made-up eyes.
"Thought you weren't going to show up" Aisha said to what seemed like the both of us, but more to March.
"only came here because of Remi" March replied. At first I didn't hear what he had said, it took me the gazes of half of the teenagers gathered around Emem to assimilate.
Wait, what?
I didn't know what to do or say, I mean, what do you say when someone has good looking as March drops a bomb like that on you.
"So you aren't here because it's my birthday?" I heard Emem ask, with not a single look of hurt in her face. If I was in her shoes, I probably would have done the dramatic run off like the one they do in the movies where the bride runs off gathering her massive gown together to enable her run better. But Eme was taking it too calm.
"hey I think I see them, let's go" I said and pullet at March, ignoring the various glares from every girl within eyeshot or the funny way I was feeling while holding his soft hands.
"Where are they?" he asked after we'd left their gathering.
"Didn't really see them, it was just awkward over there" I confessed.
"I swear down, awfully awkward. I'm grateful." He smiled. "Are you sure they're still in this building?"
"is there any other one?"
"Yeah, heard there's another party going down by the poolside."
Oh no! Not again.
And in that instant, I caught sight of Tomison's wig from a distance away.
"Hey, I see Tomi." I pointed at her and he nodded.
Just as I was about to grab Tomison, I felt someone strong pull me away. At first I thought it was March, but this person had rougher hands, a firmer grip and despite the various smells that erupted from the party animals, I could distinguish his scent. What was he doing here?
I turned back and met the most gorgeous face I'd seen on a man in a while. He wasn't putting on uniform this time; he was on a dark blue shirt and a denim jean that worked wonders on his legs. Even if he looked like he just threw the outfit he had on, he still looked like a Calvin Klein model.
"Obinna! What are you doing here?" I finally found my balance and asked.
"There's no time to talk, you have to leave this place NOW!"
"I don't unders......"
"Did you come here with anyone?"
March finally made his presence known with a fake cough.
"Excuse me, but who are you?"
"The boy that's about to save your life" Obinna deadpanned. "is he the only one you came with?"
I wriggled my hands off his grip.
"Listen, Konga boy. I don't know why you're asking these questions but I must tell you that you're beginning to creep me and my friend out. We came to celebrate with a friend on her birthday, and you're—"
"That's the thing, today isn't her birthday" obinna said. I began to wonder if his brother's death was driving him nuts. I mean that would explain is strange behaviors.
"Do you know this dude?" March asked.
"Yeah, he's...."
"We need to leave now"
"Obinna! I'm going nowhere, especially without good reasons"
He took a frustrated breath and gave me a look.
"Okay, listen well. There's a lot of evil going on in this local government of ours"
There sure is, like a crazy hot guy for example.
"This party is evil"
"Now you're sounding plain crazy, Obinna."
"You want to know how who killed 'J' right. Well I'll tell you. He was used for money ritual. And you and everyone here will enjoy the same fate if you do not listen to me."
Oh my God, he looks serious.
"What are you saying, Obinna?" I could hear myself panic.
"I'm saying if you don't want to lose a tongue and some fingers, follow me"
"You can't possibly believe this nigga" March hissed, looked at me, saw that I was convinced and walked away.
"There goes a dead man or should I say boy" Obinna said to no one in particular. "Let's go" he took my hands.
"WAIT! My brother, I have to tell him, and my friends."
"There's no time!" he sounded frustrated. "By 5:30 the ritual will begin."
It's five, seventeen, I've still got 13 minutes to save rotimi and my girls.
"I'll be quick about it." I said and reached for Tomison.
"Hey, look who finally made it!" she shouted and hugged me, she was clearly drunk.
"Where is my brother?" I asked.
"What? Who?"
"Tomison, I'm being serious here, where's Timi?"
"Oh! T-boy? He went to the bathroom"
Oh No
"I know where the bathroom is, I'll get him. Find your friends and wait for us outside" Obinna said and started to go.
"Wait, you don't know him" I said.
"Trust me, I know everything about you. Now, go!" he said and ran off.
"Hey, that's *belch* Jax's brother" Tomison slurred.
"Yeah, that's him and you're on drunken girl. Let's take you outside."
"But I don't want to go"
I finally succeeded in bringing Tomison and Lara out. I tried talking to Chidi and a couple of other people, but they didn't even recognize me. I started to believe something was up when Aisha and Emem tried to stop me from taking Tomison out and it dawned on me that they actually knew about the ritual.
It was 5:28 and I was yet to see the Obinna and Rotimi.
