Chapter 3

I wore my green dress that dragged on the floor, but with heals it was the perfect length it landed just above the toes, with a sweetheart neck line and spaghetti strips holding it up, the back almost none existent and it only covered up my butt and starting a slit where the bum stopped all the way to the floor, It hugged my body like it was made on my body and it could only be removed using the jaws of life that’s how tight it was, but I didn’t care, I felt sexy in it and I felt grown up too like I could do anything. I Oozed confidence as I walked into the prom, yes I went stag, not having friends and the hole not liking being around people thing had caught up with me, but I wasn’t going to miss this experience just because I didn’t have a date, but I was going to look damn good anyway.

“Hi, are you here with anyone?” an eerily familiar voice asked as I was pouring some punch,

“Who wants to know?” I asked playing the part of sexy mysterious girl at the prom to the tee.

“The name is Aiden; may I have this dance?”

“I’m really not in the mood to get torn to pieces by a jealous she wolf, so thanks but no thanks, why don’t you ask your date to dance with you? I don’t need rescuing” I said turning around continuing to pour my punch.

“I didn’t come here with anyone” he said as I walked away, I turned around and looked at him suspiciously

“There is no way you don’t have a date; I mean with your looks and all” I furrowed my eyebrows and shock my head at him.

“No, it’s true” he said walking towards me and for some reason my body started to tremble, and my knees got week, there was something about this guy that turned my body to mush.

“I’m from Kenhurst, my dad didn’t want to come and officiate a prom dance and since I will be taking over once I graduate he sent me instead, so here I am”

“You are the Alpha’s son?!” I asked feeling embarrassed of the way I spoke to the future Alpha. Kenhurst is where the Alpha lives, it is where the richest of the rich live. He nodded.

“And -you- want -to -dance with me?” I asked forcing the words out one at a time. This is unbelievable, I looked around and it seemed that all eyes were on us, he nodded again with a small grin on his face, my wolf was wide awake now and trying to glare through my eyes to get a peek at this handsome god looking at me and asking me to dance, I felt her trying to glare through my eyes and I looked away, I know how she gets when she gets turned on, and I wasn’t in the mood to deal with that right now. I felt her retreating and moving back deep within me sensing that now was not the time to test me.

“So, what do you say?” Aiden said with his hand out towards me, I looked at him his eyes looked like they can see into my soul, I had never felt this way, I feel like I have known him all my life, it isn’t a sweep me off my feet kind of feeling, it felt more like a welcome home kind of feeling. Well, he might not be my mate, but he could be my best friend, I mean every story about mates that I have heard including my parents began with a sweep you off your feet kind of feeling, well this is nothing to sneeze at either, imagine if the Alpha’s son was my mate that would be amazing. I took his hand and he pulled me close my knees got weak and I somehow forgot how to breath, I breathed in deeply remembering that air was important, as I inhaled his scent my insides felt like they were on fire, his rock-hard chest against me made me feel hot and dizzy, he held me close, and I felt a heat between my thighs I wanted to lean into it and see where it takes me. I could feel his breath on my neck my heart thumped through my chest as my breath got deeper and heavier. I never wanted to let go, he was the only thing that mattered at this moment.

“Scarlett, are you okay, you seem to be having a nightmare, oh my gosh, you’re sweeting!” I opened my eyes to see Lisa standing and hovering over me, her bed is next to mine so I guess it makes sense that she would be the one to hear any strange noises that I unwittingly made. My face flushed at the thought.

“I’m okay,” the look on her face touched my heart it warmed me knowing that she cared, no one had ever cared this much about me before, except when I was twelve and my dad died my mom was like this but other than that this was a first, I looked at her with grateful eyes,

“thanks for caring about me”.

“No problem are you sure you’re fine?”,

“Yeah I just need a glass of water, you can go back to bed and get some rest” I said looking at the clock on my radio it was 4:30 am and we have to be at induction at 8:00am. She walked back to her bed, and I got up and went to the kitchen, I got the glass from the shelve and poured myself some water, the sound of the water running brought the dream back very vividly, I gasped

“Aiden is the Alpha’s son?!” I stood in the kitchen in shock.
