Chapter 44
I came too, and I found myself lying in the middle of the street,
“What the hell is going on?” I rushed home scared that it might happen again and this time I might not be as lucky, what if a car hit me or something, my adrenalin was pumping, and I knew that sleep wasn’t coming anymore tonight so I went and took a bath.
“What does he mean? What does this mean? He wants me to find him, but I just saw him, god I'm going crazy” I said immersing my head in the water.

Shake it off Scarlet, today is a new day and you need to find a dress for whatever Aiden has planned tonight, it’s moments like these that make me wish I had a best friend to help me pick out a dress, this is the third store I have been to, and nothing seems to be perfect enough, I wish Aiden were here he would know exactly what dress I should pick, and he would pair it perfectly with just the right shoes,
“That’s if he is actually the one that picks them out, being that rich he must have a lot of people at his back and call, is it a woman that keeps picking these cloths out for me? If so is she pretty? How close are they that she knows my size so perfectly? Snap out of it, Scarlett you must eat something because clearly you’re delirious”
I sat at the food court looking through fashion magazines to help me decide and I saw two figures a male and a female both dressed in black suites and white shirts through the corner of my eye, I turned and looked at them and they were looking straight at me, they looked away immediately when they saw me looking at them, I put down my burger, grabbed my bag and ran, I didn’t know why I was running or from whom but that dream has been haunting me and I’m more on edge than ever, I looked back and they were chasing after me,
“Oh no, what do they want?” I said as I ran down the escalator to the parking lot,
“Damn it where did I park? Damn it, damn it, damn it… I ran and hid behind a pillar and fished for my keys in my bag,
“Yes!” I whispered when I found them, I peeked around the pillar and saw them at the entrance still looking for me, I remembered that my car is parked one level down,
“Shit", to get to it I need to run towards them and reach the stairs before they do…
"okay, I can do this” my heart was pounding but my breathing was steady, and my mind was super focused, I waited for my moment, they looked around and didn’t see me and when they looked back towards the mall I took my chance. I sprinted to the stairs and when I reached them they spotted me and they quickly started chasing me, I could hear them running down the stairs behind me, I got to the car, and I got in and started it.
“Scarlett wait” I heard the male one say, I hit the accelerator and headed for the exit, the female one stood on the road blocking my way, I couldn’t hear what she was saying but from the shape her lips made I could swear she was calling my name, who the hell are these people? As I got closer to her I slowed down hesitating as she didn’t look like she was going to move, a loud noise made me jump and I looked out my window and it was the guy trying to open the door,
“That’s it!” I said slamming my foot on the accelerator not caring that the female one was still standing in front of the car.
“It’s either you or me sister!” I screamed and when she saw that I wasn’t going to stop she jumped out of the way just in a nick of time. I kept looking at the review and the side mirrors to make sure that they were not following me. I got home and locked the door behind me, the reality of what just happened hit me and I fell on the floor sobbing loudly my body shaking with terror.
“What the hell is going on?” I said still sobbing by the door with my head buried in my knees and my arms wrapped around my legs, I let it all out, I didn’t hold back at all, everything that has been weighing down on me came pouring out and I couldn’t hold it back any longer. I finally looked up after I don’t know how long, and I saw mom standing with her arms folded looking down at me.
“Mom, how long have you been there?”
She looked down at me with tears welling up in her eyes,
“You…you are not my daughter, this person in front of me right now is not my daughter…what has happened to you? When will you let me in? Let me help you” she said pleading with me, she helped me off the floor and I sat next to her on the couch and finally told her everything I held nothing back.
“Oh, baby you have been through a lot in such a short time” she said cupping my cheeks in her hands.
“Do you have any idea what that dream means, I’ve been wracking my brain trying to figure out what it means but I keep coming up blank” I said throwing my hands in the air.
“Well, you know wolves have a very powerful cosmic connection maybe your cosmos is trying to tell you something”
“Like what?”
“I don’t know, maybe try asking your cosmos that, there will be a full moon tonight, oh and the solstice is tonight as well, your connection will be even more powerful, you never know maybe going deeper might help” she said kissing me on my forehead,
“Are you hungry, do you want dinner?”
“Oh no!, with all the madness I forgot about my date with Aiden, and now because of those guys I couldn’t find a dress” I said rushing to my room, I looked through my closet and nothing, I cursed myself for never being a girl’s girl because now all I have besides the dresses that Aiden got me were jeans, t-shirts, and a few skirts, not suitable for a date with the future Alpha, not by a long shot.
“Oh yes, this is perfect” I said taking out the dress mom bought me for my graduation last year. I looked at myself in the mirror and realised why I didn’t like this dress in the first place
“yeah too many flowers, it would be beautiful if it didn’t have all these damn flowers on it” it’s all I have right now, I have no choice I just have to go with it.
