Chapter 7
Aiden’s POV
“Mr Braveheart” the principal called poking me on the shoulder bringing me out of my trance, she broke our embrace and my heart pained, the principal pulled me away and I lost her in the crowd.
“Let’s get this over with” I said to him, and he looked offended at my words, but I didn’t care, I needed to find her and hold her in my arms again. Her scent was the richest I have ever smelled, she is the one I have been waiting for, and now that I have found her, I will never let her go, she felt perfect in my arms.
“Say cheese” the photographer said, I looked at the camera and played my part wanting this to be over as fast as possible.
With every second that passes she gets further and further away, and I’m losing her scent, there are so many wolves here and the further away she gets the harder it is for me to track her. To my relief the photoshoot came to an end, and I made my way through the crowed searching franticly for her, I got outside, and my heart sank seeing that she wasn’t there, and I couldn’t scent her anymore.
“Hey, are you looking for that girl you were dancing with, bro?” I looked towards the voice and a group of teenage boys in tuxedos looked back at me.
I walked towards them and caught a whiff of what they were smoking, and immediately lost hope of getting any help from them, let alone that they had a grasp of reality, I have huge doubts that they know where she went, but still it couldn’t hurt to ask.
“Yeah, the girl in the green dress, have you seen her?” I asked knowing this might be fruitless,
“Yeah” one answered taking a sip from his flask, I was beginning to lose my patience, time was running out and I could feel her slipping away,
“And?” I asked doing my best to keep my cool.
“Oh, yeah, she went home man, she got in a taxi not too long ago”, he said with a chuckle.
My heart stopped, did I find her only to lose her, my mind raced trying to figure out how I can see her again,
“she lives on Logan street, house number 5” he said as I was walking away, I didn’t even look back I just started sprinting, my legs weren’t quick enough, I needed to shift, but the streets were buzzing more than usual because of the prom, my legs will have to do, my heart pounded in my chest and I couldn’t help but smile,
“Almost there, almost there” I chanted to myself trying to keep myself calm, I will see my lady soon,
“My lady?” my wolf laughed at me,
“that’s so corny” he continued,
“So what?, she is mine, my lady is perfect and that’s who she is, mine” I stopped at the sign that said Logan street.
I am not a man that gets nervous, but as I caught a whiff of her scent I started to sweat, I walked slowly letting the intoxicating smell guide me, I stopped at her window, she was already asleep on the bed, I walked towards the front door, and reached for the doorbell
“Yeah she will be going to Liefde university this summer, I’m so proud of her” a woman who I assumed is her mother said to someone who sounded very excited to hear the news.
“She will be going to my school this summer!” joy overtook me, thinking about how it would be to have her all to myself. I need to get ready for her, I punched the air as I ran down the street happiness consuming me.
* * *
She looked so cute, dragging that huge suitcase behind her, her mother not far behind, I pulled some strings with the administration and made sure she got the best house on campus, I wanted to go to her and take her in my arms right then and there, but we have plenty of time for that,
“I will see you tomorrow Scarlett Roberts”, oh her name tastes so sweet on my lips.
I woke up and went to the cafeteria, hoping to meet her there, I sat there in anticipation, I heard voices and I saw her roommates from the window of the cafeteria, if they are here, she can’t be far behind, I rushed down the steps and there she is lost in thought,
“You’re Scarlett, right?” My words bringing her back to reality,
“Yes?” She responded with a confused look on her face,
“how do you know my name?” a small breeze passed through me, and she caught a whiff of me, and I saw that glint in her eyes and I couldn’t stop a smile from forming.
“How can I not notice the only other wolf here”, I said, and she furrowed her eyebrows at me,
“That still doesn’t explain how you know my name”, she really doesn’t know who I am, how can I remember every second of our first encounter and she has no memory of me?”.
It’s her first day away from home, let me give her the benefit of the doubt, she just needs to settle in a bit, I said to myself trying to think of a response.
“I heard your mom call you yesterday” I said,
“Okay, and you are?” she asked her face turning red
“How rude of me, I’m Aiden” I wanted to shake her hand, but I didn’t know if I could control myself if I touched her, so I put my hand on head, I heard her mumbled something under her breath
“what?” I asked
“Not you, Aiden” she answered, and I looked around there was no one there, man I would love to get to know what goes on in that pretty little head of hers,
“Nice to meeting you, Aiden” she said walking away, this was not enough time, but then again I need to be patient, she can take all the time she needs.
“Okay, see you”, I had to get more time, tomorrow has to be different I will have to spend the whole day with her, I will have to start bright and early.
