Chapter 398 Farewell Party
Friday, June 6th, the weather was fine. There were still two days until the Hogwarts holiday.
After bidding farewell to the frightened Trelawney, Shaylin went straight into the Ravenclaw Chamber of Secrets and immersed himself in the study and learning of magic.
In the past few days, he had successively acquired the Dark Queen's secret skill, the Demon Swallowing Vortex, the Selwyn family magic, the Yaxley family magic, the Avery family magic, the Lestrange family magic supplement, and a large number of books from these families.
Although with Xie Lin's current strength, he has lost interest in most ordinary books, but there are still many black magic books in his family's collection that are worth his study.
For example, the Selwyn family has a book called "Ancient War Magic", which tells some legends such as the ancient Egyptian wizard parting the Red Sea, the ancient Viking wizard summoning meteors to annihilate the dragon, etc. These magics have been lost to this day due to the loss of some key factors, but Schelling can still get a lot of inspiration from them.
There was originally a Potions class on Friday, which was to serve as a summary of the school year and announce the results of this year's exams, but Sherin did not need to take the exams this year as a warrior, so he informed Snape in advance and missed the class, concentrating on studying and learning his newly acquired magic.
The course of the Potions class was just like usual. Under Snape's deliberate manipulation, the Slytherin students could once again mock the Gryffindors. I won't bother to describe it here.
It is worth mentioning that after school, the examination results are announced on the notice boards of various colleges.
After four years of hard work, Hermione finally won the honor of being the first in the grade, slightly better than Daphne who was second.
This was because History of Magic pulled down Hermione's scores. Daphne had excellent grades in other subjects, but she just couldn't do well in History of Magic, which really frustrates her.
One day passed.
On July 7st, Saturday, everyone had no classes and could have a rare day of relaxation. On the grass on campus, students could be seen gathering in groups of two or three, playing, chatting, or preparing for the leaving party in the evening.
Harry's heart was heavy as he packed his suitcase in his dormitory. He dreaded the leaving party, which was usually a celebration where the winner of the House Cup would be announced. Ever since he left the wards, he had been avoiding going into the Great Hall when it was crowded. He would rather go in to eat when most people had left, just to avoid the stares of his classmates.
When Sherin, Daphne and Astoria walked into the auditorium together, they found it very unusual. The usual decorations on the walls were gone, making it look very solemn. The professors' seats were also unusually full.
The hall was newly decorated as in previous years, but there were no four-color house flags. Instead, three large flags were hung high in the center of the hall. The central flag was the shield of Hogwarts, with the Gryffindor lion, Slytherin snake, Hufflepuff badger and Ravenclaw eagle engraved on it.
The left side has two golden crossed wands, each with three stars on it, and above them is the emblem of two silver Pegasus, which is the school emblem of Beauxbatons.
The remaining green school flag with a double-headed eagle on top of a deer head that looks like a skull must be Durmstrang.
This is probably because there was no College Cup this year, but a Tri-Widget Tournament was held, so the school flags of the three schools were hung.
The real Mad-Eye Moody now sat beside Dumbledore, his wooden leg and magical eye back in place, looking extremely nervous and jumpy every time someone spoke to him.
Poor guy, Xie Ling knew it wasn't his fault.
Moody had spent ten months confined to his trunk, which must have heightened his fear of being attacked. The seat to his left was empty, where Karkaroff sat.
Karkaroff had returned to Durmstrang, not because he was afraid of Voldemort, but because he had learned from Sherin about the Battle of Little Hangleton Cemetery, and knew that the situation in the wizarding world in Europe and even the world was about to be rewritten, so he went back early to make preparations in advance, such as communicating with the German, Polish, and Nordic noble families who supported him to take the throne. Madam Maxime was still there, sitting next to Hagrid, and they were talking quietly about something.
Across the table, sitting next to Professor McGonagall, was Snape. Shalling noticed that when Harry looked at Snape, his eyes lingered on Harry for a moment. The expression on his face was difficult to read. He looked as gloomy as before. Harry stared at him for a long time after Snape had looked away.
Schelling knew that this was because Harry knew about Snape, and Snape had been sent by Dumbledore to be a double agent for Voldemort - there was no telling how Voldemort would feel when he saw Snape, his only servant.
At the Slytherin table, Daphne and Astoria sat on Shaylin's left and right. Opposite him sat the students of Durmstrang, most of whom had blank expressions on their faces, and seemed not to care what happened to the headmaster of their school.
And Eleanor sat directly opposite Sherin.
After getting Sherin's recognition, Eleanor seemed like a different person. Her face glowed with unprecedented enthusiasm and charm, attracting the attention of many Slytherin students. Even Blaise Zabini, who always looked down on others, couldn't help but cast hidden glances at her frequently.
Xie Ling was in a trance. In this situation, time seemed to have gone back to the first day they met.
Eleanor laughed softly, "Sharin Malfoy - remember the first time we met -" She gracefully raised the wine glass in her hand, her fingers gently slid across it, the glass made a very subtle vibration sound, and the fragrant red wine slowly emerged from the glass.
Xie Ling is not the same person he was a year ago.
The corners of his mouth curled up slightly, and he tapped the high-heeled wine glass on the table in front of him with his index finger, not wanting to be outdone. The same glass of red wine suddenly appeared, and even the smell was almost the same as Eleanor's.
Eleanor was stunned for a moment, then she laughed out loud, "As expected of my chosen husband, his talent in learning alchemy is beyond reproach."
Eleanor could easily put aside Schelling's amazing progress in alchemy, but the same could not be said for the other students at Durmstrang. They all knew how difficult it was to create food out of thin air using alchemy.
Krum and the others were all stunned, their eyes wide open.
Polyaco was the first to come to his senses. He smiled brightly and said, "Ah, you guys...are together. Congratulations, Xie Lin. I knew that you were the only one who could break through the iceberg of Eleanor."
"Shelin..." Eleanor ignored the somewhat dissatisfied expressions of Daphne and Astoria. A cunning flashed in her eyes, and she suddenly said loudly: "When will you come to Germany to propose to my parents this summer?"
"Uh... well..." Xie Lin could feel the murderous aura coming from both sides of him, so he could only smile bitterly and said, "Mid-July at the latest. I still have some things to deal with, and I'll leave after I finish them."
Now that the identity of the enemy has been revealed, Shailling's first priority is to make arrangements with the Malfoy family, the Greengrass family, and his close allies, or at least give them a heads-up in advance to avoid any accidents.
Moreover, Karkaroff will need some time to prepare to welcome Xie Ling.
This trip to Germany, in addition to proposing marriage to the Hohenheim family, is also part of the plan to visit Durmstrang, and also to participate in the social activities arranged by Karkaroff, so that the tentacles of his power can penetrate into Germany, Poland, and Northern Europe.
