Chapter 28 A sad day

: A sad day.

Cecilia pov’s

“Stay away from me”, he said in anger with his eyes bloodshot which made him fidget as he walked away to his room…

What just happened? I asked myself looking around the sitting room, the maids rushed to my aid, helping me up from the floor carefully.

Ma’am, are you okay? They asked looking very concerned. I nod my head smiling at them before instructing them to return to their duty post.

Everything keeps going so wrong whenever we try to get close to each other or whenever we start to bond. I guess we are back to square one.

After much thought, I walked to my room and when I got close to Fredrick’s door, I heard the shattering of something in the room, I stare at the door for a while before ignoring the sound coming away. I walked to my room and shut the door loudly.

The next morning, I woke up due to the sun that got in contact with my eyes. I rolled on the bed for a while before sitting down on it.

I walked out of my room when I know he would be out of the house, I stare at my breakfast for a while before eating it slowly.

After watching movies for the past two hours, I had become bored not knowing what else to do with my time. So I decided to call my friends. So I picked up my phone and dialed her number, hopefully, she would be less busy.

~ Hey girl, I said over the phone immediately she picks the call.

~ Cecil, you finally decided to call. Isn’t that amazing? She huffed over the phone and I couldn’t say anything because she was right.

~ So sorry dear, I am totally at fault I said with a sad voice.

~ Can I come over to see you I asked and u could feel her smiling to herself?

~ Alright she said and hung up.

I quickly rushed to my room dressed up and asked the driver to take me there.

I missed this girl, I missed spending enough time with you girls I said to them insincerely. “We missed you to the girl,” they chorused making me smile.

We were at the ice cream store, catching up on what we missed, and also talking about a lot of random stuff.

After spending enough time with them, I decided to visit the orphanage home before I resume work by tomorrow. I met the children inside the orphanage home and I gave them the candies I bought for them.

I spent a lot of time with them, and it helps me forget what Fredrick did to me yesterday. Whenever I think about it I shed tears and I don’t think I would want that for myself.

Pretty girls don’t cry, the strange man said and used his thumb to wipe my tears. I moved away from him quickly and sniffed in.

Who are you? I asked him looking angry but instead, he smiled at me.

“It a shame, I didn’t know you earlier,” he said and walked away from me and I stared at him in shock. Is that man alright?, Or is he suffering from any mental issues?.

Let’s go I said angrily to my driver as I hopped into the car.

I arrived home tired and immediately I fell asleep on my bed. I woke up in the middle of the night. And went to the sitting room. It was dark but I needed to clear my head.

Today happens to be the day I lost my parents, it happens to be the day they went on a journey and didn’t return home.

Why did you both leave me alone in this cruel world? Why didn’t you take me along with you?, Now I have been surviving just like you both would have wanted but I have made so many wrong decisions without you guys.

I went to the bar and took a bottle of vodka and drink from it directly from the bottle. I continued to weep as I kept on drinking from the bottle of vodka.

“Mom…., Dad… Please come back to me” I said almost falling from the chair when someone caught me by the waist.

Fredrick pov’s

I kept hearing a voice like that of Cecilia crying, but I discarded the thought because Cecilia cannot be crying this night when she’s supposed to be at sleep.

I shut my eyes close to continue my sleep when the voice grew wider, so I sat on the bed and rubbed the sleep off my eyes, I yanked the duvet off my body before standing up and walking out of the room.

I walked to the sitting room, there was nobody there. I peeped into the dining room and there was nobody there but now the voice became clearer. So I trace the sound to know where it was coming from.

I got to the bar room, when I looked inside the darkroom I saw Cecilia drinking herself to stupor and muttering words to herself.

I got in front of her and she was almost falling to the ground when I caught her waist and quickly held her tight. He lifted me up and dropped me on the chair probably.

What are you doing Cecilia? He asked her but instead of a reply she stares at him and busted into laughter.

Mom… Dad….why did you leave me, she said again still in tears. Why does she always call her parents he thought trying to lift her up but she slapped his hands away.

Don’t you dare touch me, you jerk face, she yells pointing at him, but he didn’t leave her. He was concerned and wanted to know what could make him this way.

Cecilia, what is it he held her Odom asking her but instead she looked in one direction and said “mom” lowly?

Please take me with you mom she said and fall asleep in his arms…

I must find out what is wrong with her, Fredrick saw to himself and carried her in bridal style to his room.
