SELENA
"There's a proper system to these things, Selena. If you want me to have sex with you, we'll have to fall in love, date and then we'll see-" Damon began to complain, but I cut his words short.
"Fuck that. I want to skip all that and get right to having sex with you. Damon..." I felt the insides of my body stir as I glued my body to his some more.
The shuddering sound that escaped his lips made me smile. My head almost touching his, I said, "Just one week. Give me one week to prove that we don't have to fall in love. Our passion for each other will push us to end up in each other's bed."
"You are being corny, Selena," he spoke softly as his lips began to dance around mine as I teased mine around his.
Our intense breaths mixed and I so much wished for him to hold my waist suddenly so we could get engulfed in a heated kiss.
Like a choreographed moment, we kept pushing and pulling our lips. When they almost touched, we would quickly pull back only to do the same thing again. Our eyes would occasionally meet as though to see if we were aware of what we were doing.
At that point, my breathing became loud. "See..." I said gently. "You know that there is something here. We have something pulling us."
"That's a lie." Our eyes met instantly and I saw how much he struggled to tuck what he was feeling aside.
"You think it is ridiculous because we just met." My hands landed on his shoulders and the feel of his solid shoulders had me thinking about being naked with him and doing things, risky things that are not limited to the bedroom. As I tried to calm my raging breath, I gently tapped his shoulder and said,
"No, just a second is needed for two people to become attracted to each other. If the universe aligns us in such a way, why should we be fools and disregard what we feel for each other?"
"I won't have sex with you unless I have fallen in love with you. And, that will not happen." It seemed Damon had snapped out of it. He didn't share the same heated exhale like we did seconds ago.
"Do you think love is that easy? Attraction comes before love, Damon." As I noticed disinterest on his face, I took a step back. "One week, Damon. One week is all I need to show you that your attraction to me can turn into something explosive, something we will be unable to walk away from."
"I-" His phone which was on my desk vibrated. After glancing my way, he walked towards the desk and grabbed his phone. "My mother is here and she wants to see me. Wait..." My brows quirked as his statement quickly halted. "Why am I telling you that?"
I smiled. "Because you are attracted to me."
"Hmm." He scoffed as he grabbed the towel which had fallen to the ground when I uttered my surprising request. "I think it's because you scare me."
As I chuckled, I watched him walk away. He said nothing even when he got to the exit. He just stood there, his back facing me, and he waited for me to open the slide.
After I did that, he stepped out and all that was left of him was his intoxicating scent.
"That was unusual of you, boss," Lucius's voice spoke from behind me as he stepped out of the hidden room that extensively led to the streets. "You are not one to be attracted to anyone."
He dropped the blue file on the desk. As I stared at it, my left hand on my waist, I said, "I can't help it. If I keep thinking about him, shouldn't I do something about it?"
"Hmm," the man grunted in response as he fell into the closest chair. "Do you think he will give in? I know you can be persistent, but Damon Jones seems to be strong-willed. He has come this far without making advances at you."
"That's what makes him special. He has not looked at me carelessly the way most men do at first sight." I clicked my tongue against the roof of my mouth as I opened the file.
Staring at the first content made me realize something.
"Do you think Damon should live in the mansion? The Pretties managed to survive our attack and our sources have told me they are now searching for Damon."
"Was Damon Jones' father that much of a bastard?"
"Oh..." I had my seat. "He was more than a bastard. We almost lost something precious to him in the past, so I know I am right when I say that man was a huge bastard."
Lucius nodded slowly. "Let's hope his son is not the same."
A little smile on my lips, I stared at Lucius who was probing the side of his mouth with his tongue.
"Do you dislike Damon?"
"I have my reservations," he simply replied as he began to inspect his fingers for whatever reason known to him.
"I'll take responsibility if Damon does something unpleasing."
"Why?"
I shrugged. "I guess I really need Damon Jones and I don't want him out of my sight just yet. So if he does something wrong, I will gladly take responsibility."
Lucius's brows lifted as he gave up his incoming words which were likely about to advise me about bringing Damon into the gang without respecting the norms. Lucius has always been a person that takes rules, principles, and all that shit way too seriously.
"Do you need me to send someone to keep an eye on Basiton? He will wish to crush us after what we did today, so it's best we have eyes on him."
"That's a good point." I relaxed into my seat. "Send one of your men to gather information and work on things from there."
"Okay, boss."
"When Damon is done, please drive him to the mansion, he needs to get familiar with so many things."
A deep exhale came from the man who got up. With a gentle tilt of his head, he said, "I'll do that, boss. See you later."
"Hmm." I returned my focus to the document in front of me and as I scrutinized its content which revealed a lot, I hoped I wouldn't suddenly start imagining being with Damon.
I did that so many times the previous night.
And, the night before that.
Damon Jones has really made me lose focus.
